Traditional unlearnable strategies have been proposed to prevent unauthorized users from training on the 2D image data. With more 3D point cloud data containing sensitivity information, unauthorized usage of this new type data has also become a serious concern. To address this, we propose the first integral unlearnable framework for 3D point clouds including two processes: (i) we propose an unlearnable data protection scheme, involving a class-wise setting established by a category-adaptive allocation strategy and multi-transformations assigned to samples; (ii) we propose a data restoration scheme that utilizes class-wise inverse matrix transformation, thus enabling authorized-only training for unlearnable data. This restoration process is a practical issue overlooked in most existing unlearnable literature, i.e., even authorized users struggle to gain knowledge from 3D unlearnable data. Both theoretical and empirical results (including 6 datasets, 16 models, and 2 tasks) demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed unlearnable framework. In this paper, the problem of sum-rate maximization for an active reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) assisted downlink rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) transmission system is studied. In the considered model, the active RIS is deployed to overcome severe power attenuation, which is caused by the cumulative product of RIS incidence path loss and the reflection path loss. Since the active RIS can adjust both the phase and the amplitude of the incident signal simultaneously, the RIS control scheme requires delicate design to improve RSMA communication performance. To address this issue, a sum-rate maximization problem is formulated to jointly optimize the beamforming vectors, rate allocation vector, and RIS precoding matrix. To solve this non-convex sum-rate maximization problem, an iterative algorithm based on fractional programming (FP) and quadratic constraint quadratic programming (QCQP) is proposed. In particular, the proposed algorithm firstly decomposes the original problem into two subproblems, namely, 1) beamforming and rate allocation optimization and 2) active RIS precoding optimization. The corresponding variables of the two subproblems are optimized through sequential convex approximation (SCA) and block coordinate descent (BCD), respectively. Numerical results show that the proposed active RIS-aided RSMA system could increase the sum-rate by up to 45% over the conventional passive RIS-aided RSMA system with the same energy consumption. © 2023 IEEE.

Early detection and assessment of polyps play a crucial role in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). Polyp segmentation provides an effective solution to assist clinicians in accurately locating and segmenting polyp regions. In the past, people often relied on manually extracted lower-level features such as color, texture, and shape, which often had problems capturing global context and lacked robustness to complex scenarios. With the advent of deep learning, more and more medical image segmentation algorithms based on deep learning networks have emerged, making significant progress in the field. This paper provides a comprehensive review of polyp segmentation algorithms. We first review some traditional algorithms based on manually extracted features and deep segmentation algorithms, and then describe benchmark datasets related to the topic. Specifically, we carry out a comprehensive evaluation of recent deep learning models and results based on polyp size, taking into account the focus of research topics and differences in network structures. Finally, we discuss the challenges of polyp segmentation and future trends in the field. © The Author(s) 2025.

Software systems often encounter various errors or exceptions in practice, and thus proper error handling code is essential to ensure the reliability of software systems. Unfortunately, error handling code is often bug-prone, while sufficiently testing them is challenging as such code often cannot be triggered under normal conditions. Motivated by this, recent studies have proposed to leverage software fault injection (SFI) based fuzzing to discover potential bugs in complicated error handling code. Despite the promising results achieved, their effectiveness and efficiency are still compromised in practice due to the huge search space of error sites, inadequate fuzzing guidance, and the overhead induced by context-sensitive SFI. To achieve effective and efficient testing of error handling code, this study presents AFL-FI, which first utilizes a similarity-based method to identify suspicious error sites, and then incorporates the idea of error site coverage to guide the fuzzing process. Finally, the design of lightweight context-sensitive SFI enables AFL-FI to execute test cases efficiently. We evaluate AFL-FI on eight large-scale open-source projects, and the results show that it can outperform existing state-of-the-art fuzzing tools significantly in terms of branch code coverage. More importantly, AFL-FI has discovered 13 previously unknown bugs, and all of them have been confirmed while 12 of them have been fixed. Besides, our evaluation also demonstrates that all the key designs of AFL-F I are effective that contribute significantly to its overall performance. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores the application of machine learning models in forecasting macro-economic indicators, including GDP, inflation rate, unemployment rate, and exchange rate across 11 Southeast Asian countries. The models used include Linear Regression, ARIMA, Random Forest, XGBoost, LSTM, and SVM. We conducted a performance comparison of each model based on MAE, RMSE, and R2 metrics to evaluate the accuracy of the forecasts. The experimental results indicate that Random Forest and XGBoost models excel in predicting nonlinear and complex indicators such as GDP and unemployment rate, while ARIMA and Linear Regression models perform better in time series with clear regular patterns, like inflation rate. The LSTM model shows inconsistent effective-ness, requiring large data volumes and complex optimization processes. SVM demonstrates potential in handling nonlinear data but requires careful tuning. This study concludes that using machine learning models presents significant potential for improving the accuracy of macroeconomic forecasting. However, model tuning and optimization are essential to match the characteristics of each type of economic indicator. Future research directions include developing hybrid models and integrating additional factors such as market sentiment, social and environmental indicators (ESG) to enhance forecasting outcomes. In the field of substation operation and maintenance, recognizing the behaviors of substation operation and maintenance personnel is crucial for maintaining the safe operation of the power grid and ensuring the safety of workers. To enhance the accuracy of human behavior recognition in substation operation and maintenance, this paper proposes an ECA-MSG3D algorithm model for human behavior recognition of work apparatus based on the Multi-Scale Pointwise Convolutional Neural Network for 3D Object Detection (MSG3D) model. The MSG3D module, which utilizes a multi-scale aggregation scheme for unified spatiotemporal graph convolution, is used for feature learning across time and space. Then, channel features are learned through the efficient channel attention (ECA) module, and the final action is obtained through global average pooling with the softmax classifier. Results show that the ECA-MSG3D model with the ECA attention module outperforms the MSG3D model with other attention modules, achieving 89.06% and 89.26% accuracy and precision on the NTU RGB+D 60 Skeleton dataset. This model provides a highly accurate human behavior recognition method for substation operation and maintenance. © 2023 IEEE.

A comprehensive understanding of physiological data is essential for anesthesiologists to monitor and maintain the health of surgical patients. Understanding anesthetic signals is essential to improve over the past ten decades to comprehend a variety of diseases, ensure the safety of patients, and accelerate their recovery. We identified and summarized four themes of artificial intelligence (AI) research in anesthesia: applications of AI in anesthesiology, signals monitored in different anesthesia stages, commonly monitored signs, and data standardization. The effect of various AI technologies on data analysis was studied, and the types, functions, sensors, characteristics, and intelligent analysis of physiological signals monitored during anesthesia are presented in this article. AI influences anesthesia practices in many ways, including preoperative data evaluation, anesthetic depth monitoring, and postoperative event prediction. © 2024 IEEE.
