Interferometric phase filters are the cornerstone of sonar for high-precision interferometry. This study focuses on the use of interferometric phase filter for forward-looking sonar, proposing an adaptive short-time Fourier transform filtering algorithm from the perspective of a frequency domain. The algorithm analyzes the image characteristics of forward-looking sonar and proposes a two-dimensional Chebyshev-Kaiser window. The window is determined by the signal-to-noise ratio of the interferogram so that the phase filter can dynamically adjust the filter intensity. The filter reduces interferometric phase noise, thus improving the accuracy of forward-looking sonar interferometric measurement. Simulation experiment and lake experiment show that the filter proposed in this study eliminates over 95% of residues, providing reliable data support for subsequent interferometric phase unwrapping and underwater elevation models. © 2024 IEEE.

Impact of Revised Trigger and Closure of the Double-Plume Convective Parameterization on Precipitation Simulations over East Asia

A double-plume convective parameterization scheme is revised to improve the precipitation simulation of a global model(Global-to-Regional Integrated Forecast system;GRIST).The improvement is achieved by considering the effects of large-scale dynamic processes on the trigger of deep *** closure,based on dynamic CAPE,is improved accordingly to allow other processes to consume CAPE under the more restricted convective trigger *** revised convective parameterization is evaluated with a variable-resolution model setup(110–35 km,refined over East Asia).The Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP)simulations demonstrate that the revised convective parameterization substantially delays the daytime precipitation peaks over most land areas,leading to an improved simulated diurnal cycle,evidenced by delayed and less frequent afternoon ***,changes to the threshold of the trigger function yield a small impact on the diurnal amplitude of precipitation because of the consistent setting of dCAPE-based trigger and *** simulated mean precipitation remains reasonable,with some improvements evident along the southern slopes of the Tibetan *** revised scheme increases convective precipitation at the lower levels of the windward slope and reduces the large-scale precipitation over the upper slope,ultimately shifting the rainfall peak southward,which is in better agreement with the observations.

In addressing issues like an excessive number of network parameters and the loss of fine texture details in image super-resolution reconstruction approaches based on diffusion models, this passage introduces a novel image super-resolution model (FELSDiff). This model relies on the fusion of diffusion models, feature extraction, and latent space. FELSDiff utilizes a Pre-trained CNN for initial super-resolution to extract the primary low-band features and part high-band features of the image. The preliminary super-resolved image is then concatenated as a condition to this model. We introduce a cross-attention mechanism guided by the high-band features of the preliminary super-resolved image to enhance the network's feature extraction capability and obtain more effective features. In the U-Net structure, we incorporate a latent space strategy, enabling the model's training and inference processes to be conducted in the latent space, thereby reducing the number of network parameters. Experimental results on multiple standard datasets indicate that this method outperforms other advanced methods overall. © 2024 IEEE.

Curvilinear Structure segmentation has numerous applications in various fields, including providing a better understanding of defects such as cracks on roads or walls, thereby assessing the structural safety of buildings. Numerous curve segmentation methods based on Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) have been developed in recent years. However, preserving feature integrity remains a challenge. To address this issue, this paper introduces a double dynamic network, called DD-Net, which consists of a dynamic structure for training and dynamic masking for inference. Firstly, to enhance the nonlinearity of the model, a paradigm to auto-adjust the CNN structure via a trainable module is formed for better fine-grained feature extraction. This dynamic structure (DS) paradigm enables a trade-off to extract or discard the feature data in the model training. Due to the data heterogeneity between the training and inference data, models may contain some useless nodes that are less effective during inference. The dynamic masking (DM) is proposed to omit the useless nodes based on the score difference between the train and inference feature statistics, thereby reducing redundant computations. To further improve the model’s performance on thin-curve segmentation and to preserve feature integrity, we introduce a non-curve suppression (NCS) module. This module focuses on background information while considering foreground prediction to address noisy conditions. The experimental results show that our DD-Net achieves promising results on three benchmark datasets and outperforms state-of-the-art curve segmentation models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

An enhanced approach utilizing APF(artificial potential field) method is introduced in this paper. By adopting this approach, the challenge of local minima that may occur when dealing with local path planning for unmanned vehicles is tackled. When the unmanned vehicle approaches an obstacle, a virtual attractive potential field is implemented, utilizing the deviation in the heading angle of the vehicle to control the steering angle. Consequently, the vehicle can avoid obstacles, resolving the issue of local minima and enabling its application in path planning for multi-unmanned vehicles. The ROS with Gazebo simulation platform is used to verify the enhanced algorithm’s effectiveness in multi-unmanned vehicle path planning in an unknown environment. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological information Institute 2024.

This study investigated the application of near-infrared (NIR) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy for rapid and non-destructive detection of ash and sulfur content in coal powder. Partial least squares (PLS) regression models were established using NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Preprocessing methods included standard normal variate, first derivative, second derivative, and multiplicative scatter correction were discussed. The ash and sulfur content models processed with standard normal variate transformation outperformed. The experimental results demonstrate that the established models for ash and sulfur content have achieved satisfactory performance, with coefficients of determination ( R 2) of 0.95 and 0.96, respectively, and root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of 0.68 and 0.18, respectively. The confirmation of NIR spectroscopy modeling for rapid detection of coal powder properties compared to traditional methods indicates faster speed and satisfactory precision, demonstrating its significant applicability in industrial process analysis. It has been confirmed that NIR spectroscopy modeling enables rapid detection of coal powder properties. Compared to traditional methods, it offers faster speed while meeting the required precision standards, demonstrating higher application value. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Event Causality Identification (ECI) aims to detect causal relations between events in unstructured texts. This task is challenged by the lack of data and explicit causal clues. Some methods incorporate explicit knowledge from external knowledge graphs (KGs) into Pre-trained Language Models (PLMs) to tackle these issues, achieving certain accomplishments. However, they ignore that existing KGs usually contain trivial knowledge which may prejudice the performance. Moreover, they simply integrate the concept triplets, underutilizing the deep interaction between the text and external graph. In this paper, we propose an effective pipeline DFP, i.e., Distill, Fuse and Pre-train, to build a commonsense-aware pre-trained model which integrates reliable task-specific knowledge from commonsense graphs. This pipeline works as follows: (1) To leverage the reliable knowledge, commonsense graph distillation is proposed to distill commonsense graphs and obtain the meta-graph which contain credible task-oriented knowledge. (2) To model the deep interaction between the text and external graph, heterogeneous information fusion is proposed to fuse them through a commonsense-aware memory network. (3) Continual pre-training is proposed to further align and fuse the text and the commonsense meta-graph with three continual pre-training tasks.
