Antenna Design for Modern Mobile Phones: A Review

Due to limited antenna space,high communication requirements,and strict regulatory constraints,the design of antennas for modern mobile phones has become an exceedingly challenging *** recent years,numerous studies have been conducted in this area,leading to significant *** review paper comprehensively summarizes recent progress made in antenna design for modern mobile ***,the challenges faced in antenna design for modern mobile phones are described,including bandwidth enhancement,integration and decoupling techniques,mm-wave array antennas,satellite communication antennas,as well as interactions between mobile antennas and the human ***,the basic antenna types(such as inverted-F,slot,loop,and planar inverted-F antennas)commonly used in modern metal-bezel mobile phones along with their key characteristics are briefly ***,the commonly exployed methods used in practical applications for designing wideband antennas within compact sizes and achieving decoupling among multiple antennas with wide bandwidths are ***,recent advances in the design of compact,wideband,and wide-angle scanning mm-wave arrays for modern mobile phones are ***,recent progress made in satellite communication antenna designs for modern mobile phones,including broadside and end-fire radiation patterns,is ***,recent studies on the interaction between mobile antennas and the human body are briefly ***,the future challenge of antenna design for mobile phones is briefly *** is our hope that this comprehensive review will provide readers with a systematic understanding of antenna design principles applicable to modern mobile phones.

Building pattern recognition is important for understanding urban forms,automating map generalization,and visualizing 3D city ***,current approaches based on object-independent methods have limitations in capturing all visually aware patterns due to the part-based nature of human ***,these approaches also suffer from inefficiencies when applying proximity graph *** address these limitations,we propose a framework that leverages multi-scale data and a knowledge graph,focusing on recognizing C-shaped building *** first employ a specialized knowledge graph to represent the relationships between buildings within and across various ***,we convert the rules for C-shaped pattern recognition and enhancement into query conditions,where the enhancement refers to using patterns recognized at one scale to enhance pattern recognition at other ***,rule-based reasoning is applied within the constructed knowledge graph to recognize and enrich C-shaped building *** verify the effectiveness of our method using multi-scale data with three levels of detail(LODs)collected from AMap,and our method achieves a higher recall rate of 26.4%for LOD1,20.0%for LOD2,and 9.1%for LOD3 compared to existing methods with similar ***,also achieve recognition efficiency improvements of 0.91,1.37,and 9.35 times,respectively.

To study the effects of lanthanide ions on the geometrically frustrated antiferromagnets and their magnetic properties,we grew high-quality single crystals of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)by hydrothermal method and studied their crystal structures and magnetic *** refinements of the crystal structure referred to the powder x-ray diffraction data show that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)adopt a Kapellasite-type layer structure,which is isostructural to their chlorine *** susceptibilities demonstrate that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)have strong antiferromagnetic coupling and a pronounced magnetic frustration *** measurements indicate canted antiferromagnetic ordering of Cu^(2+)ions around 16 K within the kagoméplane and weak ferromagnetic ***,shoulder-like anomalies in specific heat around 16 K could be a signature of emergent of magnetic *** low-temperature negative magnetization and specific heat of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)indicate that Ln^(3+)ions induce more exotic magnetic ground state properties.

Generating photo-realistic images from a text description is a challenging problem in computer *** works have shown promising performance to generate synthetic images conditional on text by Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs).In this paper,we focus on the category-consistent and relativistic diverse constraints to optimize the diversity of synthetic *** on those constraints,a category-consistent and relativistic diverse conditional GAN(CRD-CGAN)is proposed to synthesize K photo-realistic images *** use the attention loss and diversity loss to improve the sensitivity of the GAN to word attention and ***,we employ the relativistic conditional loss to estimate the probability of relatively real or fake for synthetic images,which can improve the performance of basic conditional ***,we introduce a category-consistent loss to alleviate the over-category issues between K synthetic *** evaluate our approach using the Caltech-UCSD Birds-200-2011,Oxford 102 flower and MS COCO 2014 datasets,and the extensive experiments demonstrate superiority of the proposed method in comparison with state-of-the-art methods in terms of photorealistic and diversity of the generated synthetic images.

The successful study of self-healing aqueous micro batteries(AMBs)which inherit the advantages of aqueous batteries and have the ability to automatically repair damage is of great significance for the development of smart wearable and portable electronic ***,the rate performance and the related power density of developed self-healing AMBs using metal ions as charge carriers is limited,due to the strong interaction between metal ions and electrode ***,there is great potential for developing self-healing NH^(4+)AMBs,because of the outstanding advantages of NH^(4+)such as extremely abundant reserves,smaller hydrated ion radius and little molar ***,the development of self-healing NH^(4+)AMBs is still an extremely challenge due to the difficulty in developing self-healing hydrogels and instability of anode *** though,the firstly self-healing NH^(4+)AMBs based on tailoring hydrogel electrolyte and MXene-integrated perylene anode were successfully *** expected,self-healing NH^(4+)AMBs exhibit excellent energy density(82.48µWh·cm^(-2))and power density(3.09 mW·cm^(-2)),cycle life(81.67%after 3000 GCD cycles),flexibility(95.68%under 180°)and self-healing ability(94.16%after the 10th self-healing cycles).

This paper deals with the suppression problem of mainlobe digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) jamming especially for intra-pulse slice forwarding jamming for phased array radar. A novel mainlobe DRFM jamming suppression method resorting to blind source separation based on tensor decomposition (TD-BSS) is proposed to separate the target echo signal and jamming signal. Specifically, the received signals are reconstructed into higher-order tensor form. Further, the separating matrix optimization problem relying on tensor Canonical Polyadic (CP) decomposition principle is formulated and then solved by an enhanced line search alternating least square (ELS-ALS) algorithm. Finally, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical simulations, showing its superior to suppress mainlobe DRFM jamming over the exiting method in terms of interrupted sampling and cyclic repeater jamming (ISCRJ) and chopping and interval (C&I) jamming. © 2023 IEEE.

Quantum-confined CsPbBr_(3) perovskites are promising blue emitters for ultra-high-definition displays,but their soft lattice caused by highly ionic nature has a limited ***,we endow CsPbBr_(3) nanoplatelets(NPLs)with atomic crystal-like structural rigidity through proper surface engineering,by using strongly bound N-dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(DBSA).A stable,rigid crystal structure,as well as uniform,orderly-arranged surface of these NPLs is achieved by optimizing intermediate reaction stage,by switching from molecular clusters to mono-octahedra,while interaction with DBSA resulted in formation of a Cs_(x)O monolayer shell capping the NPL *** a result,both structural and optical stability of the CsPbBr3 NPLs is enhanced by strong covalent bonding of DBSA,which inhibits undesired phase transitions and decomposition of the perovskite phase potentially caused by ligand ***,rather small amount of DBSA ligands at the NPL surface results in a short inter-NPL spacing in their closely-packed films,which facilitates efficient charge injection and *** photoluminescence of the produced CsPbBr_(3) NPLs is bright(nearly unity emission quantum yield)and peaks at 457 nm with an extremely narrow bandwidth of 3.7 nm at 80 K,while the bandwidth of the electroluminescence(peaked at 460 nm)also reaches a record-narrow value of 15 nm at room *** value corresponds to the CIE coordinates of(0.141,0.062),which meets Rec.2020 standards for ultra-high-definition displays.

The application of phased array to radar jammer is helpful to improve the effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) and the ability to counter multiple targets. Two-element cross-eye jammer based on phased array is significantly different from traditional two-element cross-eye jammer (TTCJ) and multiple-element cross-eye jammer (MCJ) in terms of antenna elements layout, circuit architecture and signal processing. However, there are no published literatures to analyse the principle of phased array two-element cross-eye jammer (PATCJ). Therefore, a mathematical model of PATCJ against mono-pulse radar is established in this paper, and the principle and feasibility of applying phased arrays to two-element cross-eye jammer are discussed. The cross-eye gain of PATCJ is derived. Besides, it is verified that the random selection of phase-shifting reference units (PRUs) will not affect the jamming performance of PATCJ. The research results of this paper have guiding significance for the engineering realization of PATCJ. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

In this paper, a microwave filter with tunable cutoff frequency is proposed based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) structure. The adjustable filter is proposed by adding metal branches controlled by varactors which can be changed through different bias. The simulated results show that the filter has different dispersion characteristics and exhibits low-pass bands with different cut-off frequencies. The proposed active adjustable filter is expected to play a potential role in modern communication system. © 2024 IEEE.
