To achieve logic operations via Majorana braiding, positional control of the Majorana bound states(MBSs)must be established. Here we report the observation of a striped surface charge order coexisting with superconductivity and its interaction with the MBS in the topological superconductor 2M-WS2, using low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. By applying an out-of-plane magnetic field, we observe that MBSs are absent in vortices in the region with stripe order. This is in contrast to adjacent underlaying layers without charge order, where vortex-bound MBSs are observed. Via theoretical simulations, we show that the surface stripe order does not destroy the bulk topology, but it can effectively modify the spatial distribution of MBSs, i.e. it pushes them downward, away from the 2M-WS2surface. Our findings demonstrate that the interplay of charge order and topological superconductivity can potentially be used to tune the positions of MBSs, and to explore new states of matter.

Residual computation is an effective method for gray-scale image steganalysis. For binary images, the residual computation calculated by the XOR operation is also employed in the local residual patterns(LRP) model for steganalysis. A binary image steganalytic scheme based on symmetrical local residual patterns(SLRP) is proposed. The symmetrical relationships among residual patterns are introduced that make the features more compact while reducing the dimensionality of the features set. Multi-scale windows are utilized to construct three SLRP submodels which are further merged to construct the final features set instead of a single *** with higher probability to be modified after embedding are emphasized and selected to construct the feature sets for training the support vector machine classifier. The experimental results show that the proposed steganalytic scheme is effective for detecting binary image steganography.

High-performance field-effect transistors (FETs) based on atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors have demonstrated great promise in post-Moore integrated circuits. However, unipolar p-type 2D semiconductor transistors yet remain challenging and suffer from low saturation current density (less than 10 µA·µm^(−1)) and high contact resistance (larger than 100 kΩ·µm), mainly limited by the Schottky barrier induced by the mismatch of the work-functions and the Fermi level pinning at the metal contact interfaces. Here, we overcome these two obstacles through van der Waals (vdW) integration of high work-function metal palladium (Pd) as the contacts onto monolayer WSe2 grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. We demonstrate unipolar p-type monolayer WSe2 FETs with superior device performance: room temperature on-state current density exceeding 100 µA·µm^(−1), contact resistance of 12 kΩ·µm, on/off ratio over 107, and field-effect hole mobility of ~ 103 cm2·V^(−1)·s^(−1). Electrical transport measurements reveal that the Fermi level pinning effect is completely effectively eliminated in monolayer WSe2 with vdW Pd contacts, leading to a Schottky barrier-free Ohmic contact at the metal-semiconductor junctions. Combining the advantages of large-scale vdW contact strategy and CVD growth, our results pave the way for wafer-scale fabrication of complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) logic circuits based on atomically thin 2D semiconductors.

Monolayer NbSe2, as an Ising superconductor, has attracted considerable attention. Experimentally, its samples inevitably contain defects, yet the effects of these defects on superconductivity remain largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate that selenium (Se) monovacancies, the most common defects in monolayer NbSe2, critically affect superconductivity. Specifically, Se monovacancies disrupt both the out-of-plane mirror symmetry and the C3z rotational symmetry in pristine monolayer NbSe2, resulting in an asymmetric spin-orbit coupling (SOC). While pristine monolayer NbSe2, which possesses Ising SOC, exhibits an isotropic in-plane upper critical field (Bc2), the asymmetric SOC induced by Se monovacancies leads the in-plane Bc2 to display an anisotropic twofold symmetry in response to the direction of the in-plane magnetic field. Furthermore, Se monovacancies significantly reduce the in-plane spin susceptibility of the superconducting state, causing Bc2 to exceed the Pauli limit only moderately, consistent with experimental observations. These findings provide valuable insights into the role of defects in tuning superconductivity of two-dimensional materials.
