Room-temperature liquid metal (LM) alloys, as soft conductive materials with high liquid mobility, offer an excellent alternative for the fabrication of flexible electronics, especially in the field of flexible sensors. However, liquid metal alloys are highly susceptible to oxidation. The formation of oxidized layer on the surface of LM with high adhesion will hinder continuous contact between the electrode and the dielectric layer, thus seriously affecting the stability and resulting in elevated hysteresis of sensors. Herein, a supermetalphobic dielectric layer is fabricated by femtosecond laser for LM-based high-performace capacitive pressure sensor. Femtosecond laser fabricated micro-nano hierarchical structures with supermetalphobicity are able to reduce the adhesion property dramatically between the LM oxide layer and the dielectric layer of the sensors so that no adhesion-related damage occurs. The performance of the sensors with different dielectric layer structures has been compared by simulation and experiment. The results demonstrate that the sensor based on supermetalphobic surface exhibits significant advantages over other structures in terms of high sensitivity (1.14 kPa-1), excellent pressure-response stability and low hysteresis (3.56%). Additionally, it demonstrates a minimum detection limit (~0.9 Pa), rapid response/recovery time (~50 ms). Moreover, the all-soft pressure sensor array was fabricated based on the micro-nano manufacturing of femtosecond lasers achieves high signal-to-noise ratio and image recognition capability. © 2024, The Authors. In the context of nonlinear and uncertain manipulator systems, achieving fast and accurate desired trajectories for each joint of the manipulator is crucial. Our study aims to improve current control methods by combining sliding mode control and neural network techniques. Specifically, we leverage the neural networks’ approximation capabilities to estimate both the modeling error and external disturbance in our research. These estimates are then integrated into the synovial control as additional gains. This approach allows for the sliding mode controller’s switch gain to adapt to changing modeling error and external disturbance, thereby avoiding the vibration production typically associated with traditional sliding mode controllers. It can be observed from the simulation results that the combination of the proposed nonsingular terminal sliding mode controller and neural network achieves fast and precise tracking of desired trajectories. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cell is determined by multiple interrelated factors,such as perovskite compositions,electronic properties of each transport layer and fabrication parameters,which makes it rather challenging for optimization of device performances and discovery of underlying ***,we propose and realize a novel machine learning approach based on forward-reverse framework to establish the relationship between key parameters and photovoltaic performance in high-profile MASnxPb1-xI3 perovskite *** proposed method establishes the asymmetrically bowing relationship between band gap and Sn composition,which is precisely verified by our *** on the analysis of structural evolution and SHAP library,the rapid-change region and low-bandgap plateau region for small and large Sn composition are explained,*** establishing the models for photovoltaic parameters of working photovoltaic devices,the deviation of short-circuit current and open-circuit voltage with band gap in defective-zone and low-bandgap-plateau regions from Shockley-Queisser theory is captured by our models,and the former is due to the deep-level traps formed by crystallographic distortion and the latter is due to the enhanced susceptibility by increased Sn4+*** more difficulty for hole extraction than electron is also concluded in the models and the prediction curve of power conversion efficiency is in a good agreement with Shockley-Queisser *** the help of search and optimization algorithms,an optimized Sn:Pb composition ratio near 0.6 is finally obtained for high-performance perovskite solar cells,then verified by our *** constructive method could also be applicable to other material optimization and efficient device development.

With plenty of popular and effective ternary organic solar cells(OSCs)construction strategies proposed and applied,its power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)have come to a new level of over 19%in single-junction ***,previous studies are heavily based in chloroform(CF)leaving behind substantial knowledge deficiencies in understanding the influence of solvent choice when introducing a third ***,we present a case where a newly designed asymmetric small molecular acceptor using fluoro-methoxylated end-group modification strategy,named BTP-BO-3FO with enlarged bandgap,brings different morphological evolution and performance improvement effect on host system PM6:BTP-eC9,processed by CF and ortho-xylene(o-XY).With detailed analyses supported by a series of experiments,the best PCE of 19.24%for green solvent-processed OSCs is found to be a fruit of finely tuned crystalline ordering and general aggregation motif,which furthermore nourishes a favorable charge generation and recombination ***,over 19%PCE can be achieved by replacing spin-coating with blade coating for active layer *** work focuses on understanding the commonly met yet frequently ignored issues when building ternary blends to demonstrate cutting-edge device performance,hence,will be instructive to other ternary OSC works in the future.

A Cost and Speed Co-optimized Parallel Stochastic Multiplier for Binary Inputs Supporting Variable Bit-Widths

Stochastic circuits offer the benefits of small area and lower power consumption. However, as the bit width of the operands increases, the area and latency of stochastic circuits also need to increase exponentially to meet the precision requirements, resulting in a decrease in performance. This brief introduces a low-cost and high-speed parallel approximate stochastic computing multiplier (PASCM), which takes binary streams as both inputs and outputs. The PASCM is suitable for multiplication operations with multi-bit width. In order to further enhance the accuracy of the PASCM, an error compensation mechanism has been proposed. To verify the performance of PASCM, validation was conducted on FPGA. The experimental results indicate that the proposed design exhibits significant area and latency advantages among existing multipliers. Take 8-bit as an example, the PASCM shows a 48.33%, 18.61%, 45.74%, and 57.95% reduction in Look-Up Table (LUT), latency, power delay product (PDP), and area delay product (ADP), respectively, compared to the 8-bit precise binary multiplier implemented using an IP core. To further validate the design, the PASCM was constructed into Multiply-Accumulate units (MAC) and applied to several image processing algorithms on FPGA. The proposed multiplier showed excellent results in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and mean structural similarity index (MSSIM), with some algorithms achieving complete consistency with binary computation results, and the hardware performance also surpasses the most advanced designs. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a collaborative fall detection and response system integrating Wi-Fi sensing with robotic assistance. The proposed system leverages channel state information (CSI) disruptions caused by movements to detect falls in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) scenarios, offering non-intrusive monitoring. Besides, a companion robot is utilized to provide assistance capabilities to navigate and respond to incidents autonomously, improving efficiency in providing assistance in various environments. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in detecting falls and responding effectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Temperature field reconstruction of 3D luminous flames based on light field tomography theory

Standard plenoptic camera can be used to capture multi-dimensional radiation information of high temperature luminous flame to reconstruct the temperature distribution. In this study, a novel method for reconstructing three-dimensional temperature field is proposed. This method is based on the optical tomography combined with standard plenoptic camera. The flame projection information from different planes is contained in one radiation image. In this model, we introduced the effective concept of the nearest neighbor method in the frequency domain to strip the interference of redundant information in the projection and to realize three-dimensional deconvolution. The flame emission intensity received by the pixels on the charge-coupled device sensor can be obtained according to the optical tomographic model. The temperature distributions of the axisymmetric and nonaxisymmetric flames can be reconstructed by solving the mathematical model with the nearest neighbor method. The numerical results show that three-dimensional temperature fields of high temperature luminous flames can be retrieved, proving the validity of the proposed method.

Based on the braking system of hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs),a method based on sensitivity ratio decisionmaking is proposed to coordinate the multi-objective requirements of stability and economy in vehicle regenerative ***,the grid method is used to calculate the fitness of the braking force distribution coefficient of each front and rear wheel under each braking intensity,and the Pareto solution set is obtained through non-dominated *** the decision method of nonlinear variable weight sensitivity ratio is adopted offline to obtain the best *** the one-dimensional mapping table(1-D table) of and is built,and embedded into the braking energy strategy to achieve the coordination of stability and ***,the simulation is carried out in ADVISOR simulation software,and the results show that the stability of this strategy is better than the traditional ADVISOR strategy,and the brake recovery rate is increased by 43.55%.
