A Reflectarray With Low Profile Based on the Method of Choosing the Certain Phase Constant

In this letter, a reflectarray antenna with a small focal diameter ratio (F\D) is presented. It is found that when the F\D is extremely small, the phase constant used in calculating the required reflection phase on the reflecting surface significantly affects the radiation pattern. In certain cases, an unsuitable phase constant can even cause the main beam to split. The unit cell is implemented as a stacked patch, and the reflecting surface comprises 14 × 14 elements. The effect of the phase constant on the radiation pattern is analyzed, and two reflectarrays with phase constants of 90° and 180°, both operating at 10 GHz with an F\D of 0.05, are compared. These two reflectarrays are simulated, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show good agreement with the simulations. Within the operating band, the reflectarray with a phase constant of 90° achieves a maximum measured gain of 20.42 dBi, with the first sidelobe level (SLL1) below -10 dB. The radiation pattern of the reflectarray with a phase constant of 180° is totally distorted, resulting in a measured gain of 6.56 dBi at 10 GHz and an SLL1 of -5.8 dB. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

A cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) reflective display is a device that employs CLC to reflect external ambient light, thereby facilitating the transfer of information. However, traditional CLC reflective displays exhibit a relatively slow response speed and are unable to be displayed in dark environments. Quantum dots (QDs), which are nanoparticles with excellent luminescence performance, can be doped to enhance device performance and the display effect. This paper proposes a multimode reflective display device (MRDE) that can respond rapidly to temperature and low-frequency AC voltage, and can realise four modes of display: reflective mode, transmissive mode, scattering mode and fluorescent mode. These modes can be converted to enhance the display effect and expand the device's application range in diverse scenarios. In reflective mode, MRDE is capable of shifting between reflective, scattering mode and transmissive modes in response to changes in temperature and voltage, and of encrypting and decrypting information. In fluorescent mode, the device is capable of displaying in dim environments, and the emission wavelength can be red-shifted from 628 nm to 636 nm within the temperature range of 248 K to 373 K. Additionally, it can provide an early warning for low and high temperature environments. The device is capable of providing early warning and encryption of information in low and high temperature environments. This provides a theoretical basis and guidance for the preparation of new devices with improved display performance, multifunctional integration, and temperature-responsive information encryption. © 2025 SPIE.

Cross-view object geo-localization (CVOGL) aims to locate an object of interest in a captured ground- or drone-view image within the satellite image. However, existing works treat ground-view and drone-view query images equivalently, overlooking their inherent viewpoint discrepancies and the spatial correlation between the query image and the satellite-view reference image. To this end, this paper proposes a novel View-specific Attention Geo-localization method (VAGeo) for accurate CVOGL. Specifically, VAGeo contains two key modules: view-specific positional encoding (VSPE) module and channel-spatial hybrid attention (CSHA) module. In object-level, according to the characteristics of different viewpoints of ground and drone query images, viewpoint-specific positional codings are designed to more accurately identify the click-point object of the query image in the VSPE module. In feature-level, a hybrid attention in the CSHA module is introduced by combining channel attention and spatial attention mechanisms simultaneously for learning discriminative features. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed VAGeo gains a significant performance improvement, i.e., improving acc@0.25/acc@0.5 on the CVOGL dataset from 45.43%/42.24% to 48.21%/45.22% for ground-view, and from 61.97%/57.66% to 66.19%/61.87% for drone-view. © 2025 IEEE.

Manganese nodules, widely distributed across the deep-sea floor, are emerging as a significant potential mineral resource. Addressing the need for improved exploration and classification methods, this study explores the application of underwater hyperspectral imaging technology for the detection and classification of manganese nodule ore and other rock types. The system, operating within a spectral range of 400 - 1000 nm and achieving a spectral resolution of less than 5 nm, captures the spectral characteristics and spatial information of manganese nodule ores. Different classifiers, including Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Networks (2D-CNN and 3D-CNN) to analyze the spectral data. Our results indicate that the four classifiers can effectively achieve ore classification, and CNN-based classifiers significantly outperform traditional SAM and SVM methods. The 2D-CNN model achieved the highest OA at 92.27%, closely followed by the 3D-CNN model at 91.77%. Our findings demonstrate the potential of underwater hyperspectral imaging combined with advanced machine learning techniques in marine mineral detection and environmental monitoring. © 2024 SPIE.

Trajectory point classification can be described as a supervised sequence labeling problem, in which a model is trained by labeling data to predict the category of unknown points and identify key events in the trajectory. Due to the difficulty of labeling trajectory point, a large amount of trajectory data is either unlabeled or labeled in an imbalanced way. To make matters worse, traditional trajectory point classification methods are generally constrained to utilize the statistical features of the labeled data and the semantic features as well as the large amount of unlabeled data have not been well studied yet. For this reason, the performance of traditional trajectory point classification methods is far from satisfactory. To solve this problem, we transfer existing language model knowledge to construct the semantic features and construct a trajectory point classification model by combining both the motion features and semantic features. The simulation results show that, compared with the traditional methods, our method has improved the accuracy of trajectory point classification by three and seven percentage points in the classification of circular and turning movements respectively. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A Time-Varying Parameter Estimation Method for Physiological Models Based on Physical information Neural Networks

In the establishment of differential equations,the determination of time-varying parameters is a difficult problem,especially for equations related to life ***,we propose a new framework named BioE-PINN based on a physical information neural network that successfully obtains the time-varying parameters of differential *** the proposed framework,the learnable factors and scale parameters are used to implement adaptive activation functions,and hard constraints and loss function weights are skillfully added to the neural network output to speed up the training convergence and improve the accuracy of physical information neural *** this paper,taking the electrophysiological differential equation as an example,the characteristic parameters of ion channel and pump kinetics are determined using *** results demonstrate that the numerical solution of the differential equation is calculated by the parameters predicted by BioE-PINN,the RootMean Square Error(RMSE)is between 0.01 and 0.3,and the Pearson coefficient is above 0.87,which verifies the effectiveness and accuracy of ***,realmeasuredmembrane potential data in animals and plants are employed to determine the parameters of the electrophysiological equations,with RMSE 0.02-0.2 and Pearson coefficient above *** conclusion,this framework can be applied not only for differential equation parameter determination of physiological processes but also the prediction of time-varying parameters of equations in other fields.

Valleytronic materials can provide new degrees of freedom to future electronic *** this work,the concepts of the ferrovalley metal(FVM)and valley gapless semiconductor(VGS)are proposed,which can be achieved in valleytronic bilayer systems by electric field *** valleytronic bilayer systems,the interaction between out-of-plane ferroelectricity and A-type antiferromagnetism can induce layer-polarized anomalous valley Hall(LP-AVH)*** K and−K valleys of FVM are both metallic,and electron and hole carriers simultaneously *** the extreme case,the FVM can become VGS by analogizing spin gapless semiconductor(SGS).Moreover,it is proposed that the valley splitting enhancement and valley polarization reversal can be achieved by electric field engineering in valleytronic bilayer *** the bilayer RuBr_(2)as an example,our proposal is confirmed by the first-principle *** FVM and VGS can be achieved in bilayer RuBr_(2)by applying electric *** appropriate electric field range,increasing electric field can enhance valley splitting,and the valley polarization can be reversed by flipping electric field *** effectively tune valley properties by electric field in bilayer systems,the parent monolayer should possess out-of-plane magnetization,and have large valley *** results shed light on the possible role of electric field in tuning valleytronic bilayer systems,and provide a way to design the ferrovalley-related material by electric field.
