Machine learning-based opinion extraction approach from movie reviews for sentiment analysis

The field of sentiment mining, also known as sentiment analysis and sentiment extraction, has shown a surge with diverse applications. Various approaches to automate the process of sentiment analysis have been introduced focusing on machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing. Existing works examine the feelings embedded in people’s opinions and beliefs that affect various areas applications, including companies’ services and products. Movie review must undergoes various processes to detect and name feelings and achieve better accuracy in decision making. Due to the structure of the language, the difficulties have been increased for the natural language processing algorithms, particularly for the grammar and dictionary management. In this paper, a new approach for extracting words from a specific text and classifying them into positive or negative opinion classes is proposed. We employ pre-processing and extraction technique for the selection of 500 to 20,000 words based on their frequency, which can be utilized using vector construction. This is performed using "Term Frequency" and "Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency". Four Naive Bayes models (including Complement, Multinomial, Bernoulli, and Gaussian) are implemented and evaluated over unseen samples. Our extensive simulation results indicated that the Naive Bayes multinomial model achieved the best performance with 86.46% accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The sparse aperture caused by data loss or unintentional interference is the actual problem in radar imaging process. Therefore, a compressed sensing (CS) based ISAR image reconstruction method with signal support aided is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the signal support is constructed from FFT-based imaging results. Then the signal support is introduced as a prior information into the reweighted function during the CS reconstruction. The simulation results show that, when the azimuth effective aperture ratio is as low as 30 % and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) equals to -10 dB, the proposed method can obtain clear imaging results like that of complete aperture data. Besides, compared with the traditional CS reconstruction method, the number of false points in the reconstruction results by proposed method is greatly reduced. © 2024 IEEE.

Rapid progress has been made in quantum secure direct communication in recent *** practical application,it is important to improve the performances,such as the secure information rate and the communication *** this paper,we report an elaborate physical system design and protocol with much enhanced *** design increased the secrecy capacity greatly by achieving an ultra-low quantum bit error rate of<0.1%,one order of magnitude smaller than that of existing *** to previous systems,the proposed scheme uses photonic time-bin and phase states,operating at 50 MHz of repetition rate,which can be easily upgraded to over 1 GHz using current on-the-shelf *** results of our experimentation demonstrate that the proposed system can tolerate more channel loss,from 5.1 dB,which is about 28.3 km in fiber in the previous scheme,to 18.4 dB,which corresponds to fiber length of 102.2 ***,the experiment shows that intercity quantum secure direct communication through fiber is feasible with present-day technology.

Performance Analysis of RIS Assisted NOMA Networks over Rician Fading Channels

In this paper,we consider a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)network assisted by two reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)over Rician fading channels,in which each user communicates with the base station by the virtue of a RIS to enhance the reliability of the received *** evaluate the system performance of our proposed RIS-NOMA network,we first derive the exact and asymptotic expressions for the outage probability and ergodic rate of two ***,we derive the exact and asymptotic upper bound expressions for the ergodic rate of the nearby *** on asymptotic analytical results,the diversity orders for the outage probability and the high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)slopes for the ergodic rate of the two users are obtained in the high SNR ***,we derive the system throughputs of the proposed RIS-NOMA network in delay-limited and delay-tolerant transmission *** results confirm our analysis and demonstrate that:1)The outage probability and ergodic rate of RIS-NOMA networks are superior to that of RIS-assisted orthogonalmultiple access(OMA)networks;2)The RIS-NOMA networks have ability to achieve a larger system throughput compared to RIS-OMA networks;and 3)The system performance of RIS-NOMA networks can be significantly improved as the number of reflecting elements and Rician factor increases.

A Reflectarray With Low Profile Based on the Method of Choosing the Certain Phase Constant

In this letter, a reflectarray antenna with a small focal diameter ratio (F\D) is presented. It is found that when the F\D is extremely small, the phase constant used in calculating the required reflection phase on the reflecting surface significantly affects the radiation pattern. In certain cases, an unsuitable phase constant can even cause the main beam to split. The unit cell is implemented as a stacked patch, and the reflecting surface comprises 14 × 14 elements. The effect of the phase constant on the radiation pattern is analyzed, and two reflectarrays with phase constants of 90° and 180°, both operating at 10 GHz with an F\D of 0.05, are compared. These two reflectarrays are simulated, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show good agreement with the simulations. Within the operating band, the reflectarray with a phase constant of 90° achieves a maximum measured gain of 20.42 dBi, with the first sidelobe level (SLL1) below -10 dB. The radiation pattern of the reflectarray with a phase constant of 180° is totally distorted, resulting in a measured gain of 6.56 dBi at 10 GHz and an SLL1 of -5.8 dB. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

A cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) reflective display is a device that employs CLC to reflect external ambient light, thereby facilitating the transfer of information. However, traditional CLC reflective displays exhibit a relatively slow response speed and are unable to be displayed in dark environments. Quantum dots (QDs), which are nanoparticles with excellent luminescence performance, can be doped to enhance device performance and the display effect. This paper proposes a multimode reflective display device (MRDE) that can respond rapidly to temperature and low-frequency AC voltage, and can realise four modes of display: reflective mode, transmissive mode, scattering mode and fluorescent mode. These modes can be converted to enhance the display effect and expand the device's application range in diverse scenarios. In reflective mode, MRDE is capable of shifting between reflective, scattering mode and transmissive modes in response to changes in temperature and voltage, and of encrypting and decrypting information. In fluorescent mode, the device is capable of displaying in dim environments, and the emission wavelength can be red-shifted from 628 nm to 636 nm within the temperature range of 248 K to 373 K. Additionally, it can provide an early warning for low and high temperature environments. The device is capable of providing early warning and encryption of information in low and high temperature environments. This provides a theoretical basis and guidance for the preparation of new devices with improved display performance, multifunctional integration, and temperature-responsive information encryption. © 2025 SPIE.

This article proposes an analog neuromorphic system that enhances symmetry, linearity, and endurance by using a high-precision current readout circuit for multi-bit nonvolatile electro-chemical random-access memory (ECRAM). For on-chip training and inference, the system uses activation modules and matrix processing units to manage analog update/read paths and perform precise output sensing with feedback-based current scaling on the ECRAM array. The 250nm CMOS neuromorphic chip was tested with a 32 × 32 ECRAM synaptic array, achieving linear and symmetric updates and accurate read operations. The proposed circuit system updates the 32 × 32 ECRAM across 100 levels, maintaining consistent synaptic weights, and operates with an output error rate of up to 2.59% per column. It consumes 5.9 mW of power excluding the ECRAM array and achieves 97.3% inference accuracy on the MNIST dataset, close to the software-confirmed 97.78%, with only the final layer (64 × 10) mapped to the ECRAM. © 2007-2012 IEEE.

Manganese nodules, widely distributed across the deep-sea floor, are emerging as a significant potential mineral resource. Addressing the need for improved exploration and classification methods, this study explores the application of underwater hyperspectral imaging technology for the detection and classification of manganese nodule ore and other rock types. The system, operating within a spectral range of 400 - 1000 nm and achieving a spectral resolution of less than 5 nm, captures the spectral characteristics and spatial information of manganese nodule ores. Different classifiers, including Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Networks (2D-CNN and 3D-CNN) to analyze the spectral data. Our results indicate that the four classifiers can effectively achieve ore classification, and CNN-based classifiers significantly outperform traditional SAM and SVM methods. The 2D-CNN model achieved the highest OA at 92.27%, closely followed by the 3D-CNN model at 91.77%. Our findings demonstrate the potential of underwater hyperspectral imaging combined with advanced machine learning techniques in marine mineral detection and environmental monitoring. © 2024 SPIE.
