Smartphones and their mobile applications have become an inseparable part of modern daily life. One of them is a public transportation app that helps people commute with public transportation. Many public transportation service providers have mobile applications as a companion for their customers to improve their quality of service. The application provides useful information and/or important features regarding their service, such as timetables or route finding for public transit. Such features run a slow algorithm to provide real-time or time-based information to the users. Dijkstra is one example of an algorithm that allows users to find the shortest path from one location to another in a public transit network. However, Dijkstra is categorized as a greedy algorithm because it looks at all possible solutions. It takes longer for Dijkstra to find the optimum solution when the number of points in a network graph is high. This study attempted to improve the overall route-finding processing time and reduce the memory footprint while keeping the visual cue of a route path reasonably consistent by utilizing Douglas-Peucker line simplification algorithm to simplify the path and reduce the number of points that Dijkstra algorithm processes. The result suggested that Douglas-Peucker simplification process took 0.5% additional memory footprint and put 5.13% additional processing time into the overall route-finding processing time. However, it reduces the overall memory footprint and processing time by 72.56% and 80.83%, respectively. The result conveyed a significant improvement in the practical implementation of Douglas-Peucker algorithm to reduce the input for the Dijkstra algorithm in finding the optimal route, thereby improving the overall route-finding performance. © 2023 ACM.

Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous Hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. Here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.

"Demand traction and technology promotion"is the main law of equipment system construction and development. Scientific determination and quantitative evaluation of key technologies in the field of military equipment is the key and difficult point of system macro demonstration. Based on the analysis of the technical structure of space information equipment technology, this paper proposes a capability-based requirement analysis framework and process of space information equipment technology system, establishes a requirement analysis model of technology system, and constructs its technical system by taking space situation awareness system as an example. It provides technical basis for the requirement analysis of space information equipment technology system. © 2023 IEEE.

In situ calibrated angle between the quantization axis and the propagating direction of the light field for trapping neutral atoms

The recently developed magic-intensity trapping technique of neutral atoms efficiently mitigates the detrimental effect of light shifts on atomic qubits and substantially enhances the coherence time. This technique relies on applying a bias magnetic field precisely parallel to the wave vector of a circularly polarized trapping laser field. However, due to the presence of the vector light shift experienced by the trapped atoms, it is challenging to precisely define a parallel magnetic field, especially at a low bias magnetic field strength, for the magic-intensity trapping of85Rb qubits. In this work, we present a method to calibrate the angle between the bias magnetic field and the trapping laser field with the compensating magnetic fields in the other two directions orthogonal to the bias magnetic field direction. Experimentally, with a constantdepth trap and a fixed bias magnetic field, we measure the respective resonant frequencies of the atomic qubits in a linearly polarized trap and a circularly polarized one via the conventional microwave Rabi spectra with different compensating magnetic fields and obtain the corresponding total magnetic fields via the respective resonant frequencies using the Breit–Rabi formula. With known total magnetic fields, the angle is a function of the other two compensating magnetic ***, the projection value of the angle on either of the directions orthogonal to the bias magnetic field direction can be reduced to 0(4)° by applying specific compensating magnetic fields. The measurement error is mainly attributed to the fluctuation of atomic temperature. Moreover, it also demonstrates that, even for a small angle, the effect is strong enough to cause large decoherence of Rabi oscillation in a magic-intensity trap. Although the compensation method demonstrated here is explored for the magic-intensity trapping technique, it can be applied to a variety of similar precision measurements with trapped neutral atoms.

Working distance and background radiation greatly affect the signal-to-noise ratio of avalanche photodiode (APD) in the lidar detection system. The traditional method cannot adapt to a complex environment by offline compensation or pre-compensation according to the influence factors of the external environment. In this paper, an avalanche photodiode voltage compensation method based on the improved random forest is designed. Firstly, the distance image data is de-noised. Then the weight of each decision tree in the random forest was changed to improve the classification performance. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used to search for the optimal combination of parameters affecting classification accuracy and performance. Finally, the improved random forest algorithm is used to judge the current working state of APD at different distances, compensate for the bias voltage, and make APD work in the optimal state. The proposed method is compared with the k-nearest neighbor, support vector machine, and other commonly used classification algorithms, and the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Highly efficient inorganic phosphors are desirable for lighting-emitting diode light sources,and increasing the doping concentration of activators is a common approach for enhancing the photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY).However,the constraint of concentration quenching poses a great challenge for improving the ***,we propose a fundamental design principle by separating activators and prolonging their distance in Eu^(2+)-activated Rb_(3)Y(PO_(4))_(2)phosphors to inhibit concentration quenching,in which different quenching rates are controlled by the Eu distribution at various crystallographic *** blue-violet-emitting Rb_(3)Y(PO_(4))2:xEu(x=0.1%–15%)phosphors,with the occupation of Rb1,Rb2 and Y sites by Eu^(2+),exhibit rapid luminescence quenching with optimum external PLQY of 10%due to multi-channel energy ***,as the Eu concentration increases above 20%,Eu^(2+)prefer to occupy the Rb1 and Y sites with separated polyhedra and large interionic distances,resulting in green emission with suppressed concentration quenching,achieving an improved external PLQY of 41%.Our study provides a unique design perspective for elevating the efficiency of Eu^(2+)-activated phosphors toward high-performance inorganic luminescent materials for full-spectrum lighting.

A controllable fabrication improved silicon nanowire array sensor on(111)SOI for accurate bio-analysis application

Silicon nanowire field-effect transistor(SiNW-FET)sensors possess the ability of rapid response,real-time,and label-free detection with high sensitivity and selectivity in the analysis of charged *** nano-scale size makes them well suited for ultralow detection of charged molecules,but also brings the uniformity fabrication challenging,thus limiting their large-scale *** a horizontal control approach,highly controllable silicon nanowires arrays at the top of the silicon-on-insulator(SOI)wafer(T-SiNW)were developed in our previous *** further improve the device uniformity,here a novel SiNW fabricated approach was carefully designed by the combination of horizontal and vertical *** new silicon nanowires appeared at the bottom of the top silicon layer(B-SiNW).The B-SiNW has a relatively low requirement on the fabrication process and better device uniformity compared to *** improvements resulted in the B-SiNW device with a lower current fluctuation(4.1 nA with 5.1%variations)in the flowing liquid,compared to the T-SiNW device(4.4 nA with 11%variations).Further,in quantitative detection of 40 ng/mL MMP-9,the B-SiNW sensors provided larger signals and lower fluctuation(normalized average response value:0.57 with 4.2%variations),compared to the T-SiNW sensors(0.41 with 12.1%variations),thus indicating a more accurate bio-analysis application of the B-SiNW *** work advances the nanowire sensor technology a step closer toward large-scale application to create stable sensing platforms in disease diagnosis and monitoring.
