In this article, an assessment of the capabilities of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and the Global Positioning System (GPS) has been conducted. The findings indicate a significant improvement in the precision and atomic clock capability of BDS-3, attributable to the incorporation of a next-generation atomic clock, albeit still falling short of the performance demonstrated by GPS. Furthermore, a motion Precise Point Positioning (PPP) experiment was conducted within the Chinese territory, facilitating a comparative analysis of the positioning characteristics between BDS and GPS. The results reveal that in terms of North and East directions, the location precision of BDS-2/BDS-3 is nearly comparable to GPS. In the upward direction, BDS surpasses GPS, owing to the more visibility of BDS satellites and their more rational geometric configuration. Additionally, the concurrent utilization of BDS-2 and BDS-2/BDS-3 can enhance the operational capability of BDS. In summary, the combined positioning capability of BDS-2/BDS-3 is conducive to increasing the overall service efficiency of BDS. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Target detection of small samples with a complex background is always difficult in the classification of remote sensing *** propose a new small sample target detection method combining local features and a convolutional neural network(LF-CNN)with the aim of detecting small numbers of unevenly distributed ground object targets in remote sensing *** k-nearest neighbor method is used to construct the local neighborhood of each point and the local neighborhoods of the features are extracted one by one from the convolution *** the local features are aggregated by maximum pooling to obtain global feature *** classification probability of each category is then calculated and classified using the scaled expected linear units function and the full connection *** experimental results show that the proposed LF-CNN method has a high accuracy of target detection and classification for hyperspectral imager remote sensing data under the condition of small *** drawbacks in both time and complexity,the proposed LF-CNN method can more effectively integrate the local features of ground object samples and improve the accuracy of target identification and detection in small samples of remote sensing images than traditional target detection methods.

Biomedical Named Entity Recognition (BioNER) aims to identify and classify entities in biomedical text. This task struggles with data scarcity due to limited annotated data. Although data augmentation is effective, existing methods fail to handle the complex semantic mappings on biomedical terminology, which results in the generated samples lacking semantic diversity. In this paper, we propose a data augmentation method to create semantically diverse and coherent training samples for few-shot BioNER. The method utilizes the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) for entity replacement and combines with a Masked Language Model (MLM) to generate contextually relevant words. Experimental results show that our method improves BioNER performance in few-shot scenarios. Compared to all baseline models, our method achieves an average F1 score improvement of 7.6% and 11.6% on the NCBI and JNLPBA datasets, respectively. Human–Robot Coordination Control for Sit-to-Stand Assistance in Hemiparetic Patients With Supernumerary Robotic Leg

In light of global aging and prevalent stroke-related hemiplegia, this study addresses challenges in robot-assisted Sit-to-Stand (STS) movements, a daily activity prone to falls. Supernumerary Robotic Legs (SRL) serve as independent support, enhancing stability and limb movement range. Existing coordination control methods lack personalization for STS assistance, requiring solutions for human intent transmission and rapidly optimize coordination control challenges in the non-coupled human-robot system. The proposed human-SRL coordination control algorithm, grounded in personalized SRL-human coupling models, incorporates surface electromyography (sEMG) signals to design an intent-driven variable stiffness impedance control. The inclusion of incremental learning enables rapid optimization of impedance parameters, facilitating real-time adjustments in SRL assistance for adaptive coupling with users. Practical experiments involving both healthy participants and hemiparetic patients validate the algorithm’s effectiveness during STS. The results validate substantial reductions in STS time (39.54%) and muscle activity (28.01%), highlighting the efficacy of the proposed algorithm-controlled SRL support for hemiparetic individuals. Note to Practitioners—To prevent misalignment between the SRL and natural limb movements, which can impose additional strain on the body, this study combines the principles of joint bio-mimicry to develop a personalized human-robot coupling model, and also propose an sEMG-based adaptive impedance control algorithm. Our research fills a gap in the nuanced analysis of robot-assisted support effects on both the affected and unaffected sides of hemiparetic patients, while also possessing the potential for transfer or extension to other types of rehabilitation robotic platforms. Robust models should exhibit strong performance even in the presence of data imbalance problems. Solutions such as test-time adaptation(TTA) are currently proposed to address the challenge of inconsistent distribution of training and test data. However, most existing TTA methods do not consider the model's performance in the presence of data imbalance. In this paper, we propose a method of optimizing the loss function using focal loss while using a predictive entropy minimization optimization strategy for updating the parameters of the BN-layer affine transform in a cycle, i.e.,Focal-Adjusted Test-Time Adaptation (FATA), to alleviate the problem of data class imbal-ance. We selected the CIFAR10-C and CIFAR100-C datasets as experimental objects and used them to create class imbalance data. Among them, the CIFAR10-C dataset contains ten classes, and we set different data volume shares according to the class labels; the CIFAR100-C dataset contains ten major classes and 100 minor classes, and we set different data volume shares for each major class. The experimental results show that compared with the source pre-trained model and the traditional cross-entropy loss, the optimized method significantly improves the generalization performance and robustness of the model when dealing with the data imbalance problem. The research in this paper provides new ideas and techniques for solving the data imbalance problem, which is of great significance for further improving the performance of deep learning models in practical applications.

Spouted bed has drawn much attention due to its good heat and mass transfer efficiency in many chemical *** the flow patterns and heat and mass transfer inside a spouted bed can help optimize the spouting ***,in this study,the effects of particle shape on the hydrodynamics and heat transfer in a spouted bed are *** is done by using a validated computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method(CFD-DEM)model,considering volume-equivalent spheres and oblate and prolate *** results are analysed in detail in terms of the flow pattern,microstruc-ture,and heat transfer *** numerical results show that the prolate spheroids(Ar=2.4)form the largest bubble from the beginning of the spouting process and rise the highest because the fluid drag forces can overcome the interlocking and particle-particle frictional *** with spherical particles,ellipsoidal spheroids have better mobility because of the stronger rotational kinetic energy resulting from the rough surfaces and nonuniform *** addition,the oblate spheroid system exhibits better heat transfer performance benefiting from the larger surface area,while prolate spheroids have poor heat transfer efficiency because of their orientation *** findings can serve as a reference for optimizing the design and operation of complex spouted beds.

Driven by the rapid development of modern industrial processes, cyber-physical systems (CPSs), which tightly conjoin computational and physical resources, have become ever-more prevalent during recent years. However, due to the intrinsical vulnerability of the cyber layer, the system performances of CPSs are easily degraded by malicious false data injection (FDI) attacks, which are launched by adversary. In this article, the issue of secure reconstruction is considered for linear CPSs with simultaneous sparse actuator and sensor attacks. First, an adaptive counteraction searching strategy is proposed to identify the potential combinational attack mode. In this way, malicious FDI attacks are excluded. Second, by constructing a descriptor switched sliding mode observer, the sparse FDI attacks and the system state are reconstructed effectively. Meanwhile, sufficient conditions of the error convergence can be derived. Finally, a numerical simulation is utilized to illustrate the applicability of the proposed theoretical derivation. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Personality recognition is of great significance in deepening the understanding of social relations. While personality recognition methods have made significant strides in recent years, the challenge of heterogeneity between modalities during feature fusion still needs to be solved. This paper introduces an adaptive multi-modal information fusion network (AMIF-Net) capable of concurrently processing video, audio, and text data. First, utilizing the AMIF-Net encoder, we process the extracted audio and video features separately, effectively capturing long-term data relationships. Then, adding adaptive elements in the fusion network can alleviate the problem of heterogeneity between modes. Lastly, we concatenate audio-video and text features into a regression network to obtain Big Five personality trait scores. Furthermore, we introduce a novel loss function to address the problem of training inaccuracies, taking advantage of its unique property of exhibiting a peak at the critical mean. Our tests on the ChaLearn First Impressions V2 multi-modal dataset show partial performance surpassing state-of-the-art networks. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

The need for high-performance optoelectronic functional materials has increased in recent years due to the expansion of the optoelectronic information sector. Potassium Titanium Oxygen Phosphate (KTiOPO4,KTP) is internationally recognized as a material with excellent comprehensive optoelectronic performance. After periodic polarization, KTiOPO4(PPKTP) can produce laser and entangled photon outputs of any wavelength within the crystal transmittance range using quasi-phase matching (QPM) technology, making it an ideal material for generating entangled photons for efficient frequency conversion and quantum communication. Its applications include laser manufacturing, quantum communication, electro-optical modulators, and optical waveguide devices. In this paper, the preparation of PPKTP crystal materials, the current status of development at home and abroad, and the applications in the quantum field are reviewed, and some challenges encountered in the preparation of the current hydrothermal PPKTP are also highlighted, and in future related research, the solution of these challenges is of great significance to improve the quality of the polarization reversal of the PPKTP and to promote the device's wider application. © 2024 SPIE.
