Energy leakage in OFDM sparse channel estimation:The drawback of OMP and the application of image deblurring

In this paper,in order to reduce the energy leakage caused by the discretized representation in sparse channel estimation for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)systems,we systematically have analyzed the optimal locations of atoms with discrete delays for each path reconstruction from the perspective of linear fitting ***,we have investigated the adverse effects of the non-ideal inner product function on the iteration in one of the most widely used channel estimation method,Orthogonal Matching Pursuit(OMP).The study shows that the distance between the selected atoms for each path in OMP can be larger than the sampling interval,which prevents OMP-based methods from achieving better *** overcome this drawback,the image deblurring-based channel estimation method,in which the channel estimation problem is analogized to one-dimensional image deblurring,was proposed to improve the large compensation distance of traditional *** advantage of the proposed method was validated by the results of numerical simulation and sea trial data decoding.

Popularity plays a significant role in the recommendation system. Traditional popularity is only defined as a static ratio or metric (e.g., a ratio of users who have rated the item and the box office of a movie) regardless of the previous trends of this ratio or metric and the attribute diversity of items. To solve this problem and reach accurate popularity, we creatively propose to extract the popularity of an item according to the Proportional Integral Differential (PID) idea. Specifically, Integral (I) integrates a physical quantity over a time window, which agrees with the fact that determining the attributes of items also requires a long-term observation. The Differential (D) emphasizes an incremental change of a physical quantity over time, which coincidentally caters to a trend. Moreover, in the Session-Based Recommendation (SBR) community, many methods extract session interests without considering the impact of popularity on interest, leading to suboptimal recommendation results. To further improve recommendation performance, we propose a novel strategy that leverages popularity to enhance the session interest (popularity-aware interest). The proposed popularity by PID is further used to construct the popularity-aware interest, which consistently improves the recommendation performance of the main models in the SBR community. For STAMP, SRGNN, GCSAN, and TAGNN, on Yoochoose1/64, the metric P@20 is relatively improved by 0.93%, 1.84%, 2.02%, and 2.53%, respectively, and MRR@20 is relatively improved by 3.74%, 1.23%, 2.72%, and 3.48%, respectively. On Movieslen-1m, the relative improvements of P@20 are 7.41%, 15.52%, 8.20%, and 20.12%, respectively, and that of MRR@20 are 2.34%, 12.41%, 20.34%, and 19.21%, respectively.

An indium tin oxide(ITO) and silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4)) assisted compact TE-pass waveguide polarizer based on lithiumniobate-on-insulator is proposed and numerically *** properly designing the ITO and Si_(3)N_(4) assisted structure and utilizing the epsilon-near-zero effect of ITO,the TM mode is strongly confined in the ITO layer with extremely high loss,while the TE mode is hardly affected and passes through the waveguide with low *** simulation results show that the polarizer has an extinction ratio of 22.5 dB and an insertion loss of 0.8 dB at the wavelength of 1.55 μm,and has an operating bandwidth of about 125 nm(from 1540 nm to 1665 nm) for an extinction ratio of>20 dB and an insertion loss of<0.95 ***,the proposed device exhibits large fabrication *** notably,the device is compact,with a length of only 7.5 μm,and is appropriate for on-chip applications.

An optical carbon nanotube fibre probe for measurement of nano structures with large aspect ratio

With the development of imaging and measurement technologies,scanning near-field optical microscopy(SNOM)has achieved high signal-to-noise *** resolution of a fibre probe-based SNOM system is capable of reaching 10 ***,SNOM applications are presently constrained to the measurement of near-field optical information to relatively straightforward structures,including quantum dots,carbon nanotubes,graphene,and so *** geometry of conventional fibre probes,with tips at an angle of 30°-60°,presents a challenge for accurately imaging complex surface *** paper proposes a carbon nanotube composite fibre probe(CNT-FP)with a large aspect *** key point is that a carbon nanotube bundle is composited at the tip of conventional surface plasmon polaritons fibre probes(SPPs-FP),which are the fibre probes coated with gold film to excite the *** coupling,propagation,and focusing effects of SPPs on the carbon nanotube bundle are ***-FPs have been fabricated and applied to measure a grating with the depth of 400 nm and the width of 400 *** experimental results show that the measurement accuracy and imaging quality of CNT-FP are nearly one order of magnitude higher than that of conventional SPPs-FP,as evidenced by evaluation criteria such as line roughness and volatility ***,it achieves an optical resolution of 72.1 nm in the measurements of a nano structure with large aspect *** provides an effective solution of measuring structures with larger aspect ratios.

Hypoxia is a common characteristic of tumors and associated with poor outcome in most cancer types,thus hypoxia-triggered combined therapeutic systems with well-defined structure hold significant promise for achieving specific and effective tumor ***,a water-soluble perylene diimide(PDI)cyclophane“Gemini Box”(GBox-1^(4+))is demonstrated as both a hypoxia-responsive photothermal agent and a drug capsule for tumor-specific combination ***,owing to the covalent enclosure of PDI chromophore by double-sided molecular straps,GBox-1^(4+)can significantly stabilize labile PDI radical anions generated through bioreduction at the lesion site of hypoxic tumors,leading to high-efficiency near-infrared photothermal ablation of ***,GBox-1^(4+)can act as a molecular capsule to bind water-insoluble antitumor drugs camptothecin and hydroxycamptothecin in 1:1 host-guest stoichiometry with high affinities,greatly enhancing the water solubility of ***,such drug-loading cyclophane system as a hypoxia-activated photothermal/drug combined therapeutic platform exhibits more effective inhibition of tumor growth than the single treatment under identical *** study significantly extends the application range of host-guest cyclophane systems and opens a promising avenue to structurally uniform combined therapeutic agents against hypoxic tumors with improved specificity.

Trial application of the envelope method to the potential ambiguity problem

The optical potential ambiguity is a long-standing problem in the analysis of elastic scattering *** a specific collid-ing system,ambiguous potential families can lead to different behaviors in the nearside and farside scattering *** contrast,the envelope method can decompose the experimental data into two components with negative and positive deflection angles,***,a question arises as to whether the comparison between the calculated nearside(or farside)component and the derived positive-deflection-angle(or negative-deflection-angle)component can help analyze the potential ambiguity *** this study,we conducted a trial application of the envelope method to the potential ambiguity *** envelope method was improved by including uncertainties in the experimental *** colliding systems of 16O+28Si at 215.2 MeV and 12C+12C at 1016 MeV were considered in the *** each colliding system,the angular distribution experimental data were described nearly equally well by two potential sets,one of which is“surface transpar-ent”and the other is *** calculated angular distributions were decomposed into nearside and farside scattering *** the improved envelope method,the experimental data were decomposed into the positive-deflection-angle and negative-deflection-angle components,which were then compared with the calculated nearside and farside *** capability of the envelope method to analyze the potential ambiguities was also discussed.

Tungsten trioxide(WO_(3))has been widely regarded as a prospective bifunctional material due to its electrochromic and pseudocapacitive properties,while still facing the dilemma of inadequate cycle stability and trapping-induced ***,inspired by the trees-strengthening approach,a unique titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))nanorod arrays strengthened WO_(3)nano-trees(TWNTs)heterojunction was rationally designed and *** sharp contrast to the transmittance modulation(ΔT)attenuation of primary WO_(3)nano-trees during cycling,the TWNTs film showed not only excellent electrochromic performance but also fascinating cycle stability(77.35%retention of the initialΔT after 10,000 cycles).Besides,the trapping-induced degradation could be easily rejuvenated by a potentiostatic de-trapping *** electrochromic energy storage device(EESD)was further assembled based on the TWNTs film to deliver excellentΔT(up to 79.5%at 633 nm),fast switching speed(tc/tb=1.9 s/14.8 s),extremely high coloration efficiency value(443.4 cm^(2)·C^(−1)),and long-term cycle stability(over 10,000 charge/discharge cycles).This innovative study provided in-depth insights into the electrochromism nature and a significant step in the realization of stable electrochromic-energy storage application,paving the way for multifunctional smart windows as well as next-generation optoelectronic devices.

Background Three-dimensional(3D)shape representation using mesh data is essential in various applications,such as virtual reality and simulation *** methods for extracting features from mesh edges or faces struggle with complex 3D models because edge-based approaches miss global contexts and face-based methods overlook variations in adjacent areas,which affects the overall *** address these issues,we propose the Feature Discrimination and Context Propagation Network(FDCPNet),which is a novel approach that synergistically integrates local and global features in mesh *** FDCPNet is composed of two modules:(1)the Feature Discrimination Module,which employs an attention mechanism to enhance the identification of key local features,and(2)the Context Propagation Module,which enriches key local features by integrating global contextual information,thereby facilitating a more detailed and comprehensive representation of crucial areas within the mesh *** Experiments on popular datasets validated the effectiveness of FDCPNet,showing an improvement in the classification accuracy over the baseline ***,even with reduced mesh face numbers and limited training data,FDCPNet achieved promising results,demonstrating its robustness in scenarios of variable complexity.

Bifunctional nanoprobe for simultaneous detection of intracellular reactive oxygen species and temperature in single cells

Living cells can rapidly adjust their metabolic activities in response to external stimuli,leading to fluctuations in intracellular temperature and reactive oxygen species(ROS)*** these parameters is essential for understanding cellular metabolism,particularly during dynamic biological *** this study,we present a bifunctional nanoprobe capable of simultaneous measurement of ROS levels and temperature within single *** nanoprobe features two individually addressable nanoelectrodes,with platinum(Pt)and nickel(Ni)coatings on both *** the tip,these two metal layers form a nano-thermocouple,enabling precise intracellular temperature measurements,while the Pt layer facilitates selective ROS *** dual functionality allows for real-time monitoring of cellular responses during synergistic chemo-photothermal therapy of cancer cells and zebrafish embryos subjected to mitochondrial toxic *** results demonstrate that the nanoprobe effectively measures increases in temperature and ROS levels in HeLa cells undergoing chemo-photothermal therapy,as well as in chemically stimulated zebrafish *** providing detailed analysis of submicrometer-scale temperature and ROS variations within living cells,this nanoprobe offers valuable insights into cellular processes and holds promise for early disease detection and drug development.
