Cloud computing, with its fundamental virtualization technique, offers a flexible and powerful platform for deploying various applications. Real-time task scheduling in cloud environments, however, presents significant challenges due to timing constraints and the need for efficient resource allocation. This paper proposes a game-theoretic method for real-time task scheduling, leveraging both cooperative and non- cooperative game models. A systematic framework is developed, considering tasks as players and virtual machines as strategies. Through extensive experimental analysis, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated, showing superior perfor- mance in terms of completion time and waiting time compared to traditional scheduling methods. Additionally, future research directions are outlined, including the integration of additional evaluation metrics to enhance scheduling efficiency in cloud computing systems further.

With the rapid expansion of cloud computing services, optimizing data storage and retrieval in cloud-based systems has become crucial. This thesis explores a cost-efficient approach to hierarchical caching in cloud environments, specifically focusing on key-value stores. Building on previous work in elastic caching, this research introduces a hybrid caching system that leverages in-instance memory, in-instance disk, and persistent cloud storage to create a multi-tiered hierarchy. This hierarchy reflects the varying importance of data, optimizing its placement and retrieval. Using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for implementation, the study evaluates different data eviction and placement strategies to enhance performance. Experiments conducted measure query latency and cache hit rates across different storage mediums. Results indicate that our cost-aware caching strategy achieves approximately a 10 % improvement in query latency compared to traditional Least Recently Used (LRU) approaches, with a significantly higher number of hits occurring in memory. This demonstrates that a hierarchical, cost-efficient caching policy can substantially improve performance in cloudbased key-value stores, balancing speed and cost-effectiveness.

The rapid development of Internet technology derived out a massive network text data. Therefore, how to classify the massive text data efficiently has important theoretical significance and application value. In order to acquire accurate classification results, the process has been divided into two parts. In terms of text representation, this paper proposes an online field feature selection algorithm (OFFS algorithm) based on streaming data, which solves the problems of low efficiency and memory consumption of traditional feature selection algorithms. With improvements in the vector space model, the new algorithm can select the real-time feature of the data and quickly generate text vector. In the aspect of classifier design, an OFFS-BP neural network text classifier based on BP neutral network and OFFS algorithm is designed. It adapts to the distributed parallel computing, reduces the training time and balances the computation efficiency and classification accuracy. Finally based on the Spark platform, the OFFS-BP neural network classifier is implemented. The experimental results show that the OFFS-BP neural network classifier is more suitable for big data environment with less computation time and higher classification efficiency. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.

The rapid expansion of Instagram content marked by a large volume of photos and comments demands effective methods for discovering topics. While hashtags facilitate the grouping of posts, categorizing these hashtags into specific topics is challenging task due to the multimodal and noisy nature of content on the platform. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach that leverages multimodal features and Vision-Language Models (VLMs) for the topic classification of hashtags. To achieve this, we develop a dataset InstaHash which includes 464 hashtags and 12,345 posts spanning five topic categories: army, politics, sports, judiciary, and religion. We extract text features using the TF-IDF algorithm and visual features using HSV, SIFT, ResNet50, and VGG16 algorithms. Additionally, we introduce 34 binary features derived from the VLM of LLAVA through prompt engineering. These prompt engineering features examine the six aspects of images such as people, symbols and objects, buildings, events, uniforms, and embedded text. We train four classifiers of Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for topic classification of hashtags. Our analysis reveals that combining text and visual features yields an accuracy of 0.89 for topic classification with the CNN classifier. However, by incorporating additional prompt features into the model, we achieve the highest accuracy of 0.96. Moreover, we notice that prompt features related to aspects of people and symbols are the most important features for the topic classification of hashtags. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a distributed wireless network that is self-organized and self-maintained and it doesn’t require a fixed framework or central administration. Wireless nodes in a mobile ad hoc network are transient and have a short lifespan. They combine to form a self-configured, infrastructure-free network where routing is a significant difficulty. The wireless nodes in the network must synchronize in order to decide connectivity and routing. Ad hoc network synchronization includes activities including node organization, neighborhood detection, and routing. The predetermined framework resulted in an increase in network control overhead. If a node can link to every other node in the network, it is referred to as a dominating node, and a set of dominating nodes make up the dominating set. The main purpose of this article is to lessen routing overhead in the wireless network with the dominating set based routing (DSBR). In order to discover routes, shorten reroute establishment times, and increase packet delivery rates, this research presents an energy-efficient routing algorithm (EERA) that considerably increases the network performance. The effectiveness of this technique is demonstrated by the simulation analysis of the outcome. © 2023,International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies. All Rights Reserved.

Flight delays present major problems for the aviation sector, affecting both operational efficiency and consumer happiness. Existing prediction systems have accuracy and flexibility limitations. The study provides an advanced machine learning-based method that makes use of a large dataset, combining historical flight and meteorological information. Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Support Vector Machines are used in the system, with hyperparameters optimized using Random search, Bayesian, and Grid search techniques. The results show that the proposed system outperforms the existing system in terms of prediction accuracy, obtaining 95% versus 90%. Precision, recall, and F1-score all exhibit gains, highlighting the suggested system's superiority. The paper methodically describes data collection, algorithm selection, hyperparameter optimization, and model evaluation, as well as an innovative approach to flight delay prediction. To summarize, the proposed system provides a big step forward, providing a more accurate and adaptive system for improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in the aviation sector. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are essential for various applications, but their architecture makes them vulnerable to attacks. While traditional security methods like authentication and encryption offer some protection, they often fall short against specific node attacks. This paper introduces the Secure Energy Aware Routing (SEAR) strategy, which uses trust-based assessments to exclude malicious nodes while optimizing energy consumption. SEAR factors in node trust, hop time, and residual energy to ensure reliable data transmission through trustworthy nodes. MATlab simulations on networks of varying sizes (100-500) compare SEAR with existing methods (EAD and EASER), demonstrating SEAR's superior performance. Results show significant improvements in packet delivery ratio (13-16%), network throughput (19-24 %), energy consumption (32-36%), packet loss (16-190/0), and end-to-end latency (21-26%), proving SEAR's effectiveness in enhancing WSN security, energy efficiency, and performance. © 2024 IEEE.
