Within the realm of distributed optimization, each node in the network possesses computational capabilities. Nodes perform local calculations on their own data, and by communicating local information (e.g., local gradients) with neighboring nodes, agents collectively achieve a globally optimal solution. In recent years, distributed optimization has garnered interest across diverse disciplines, particularly in situations where communication abilities are limited or data are private. In this paper, a distributed second-order algorithm, based on an augmented Lagrangian function, is proposed with an enhanced diffusion communication strategy. An R-linear convergence rate is established under a relaxed locally restricted strong convexity assumption, along with a widely employed L-smoothness assumption. Finally, the superiority of the algorithm is showcased by a distributed logistic regression example utilizing a synthetic dataset with various parameter settings. © 2023 IEEE.

Energy conservation is an indispensable aspect of the protocols designed for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The communication protocols for WSN fall mainly under two categories: centralized and distributed. Centralized protocols are not feasible for real-world WSNs as the network can span across large areas where most of the nodes cannot directly communicate with the base station (BS). The routing issues in such networks can be addressed using multi-hop protocols. However, the process of BS guided clustering in such methods cannot be performed. Distributed clustering methods that minimize the intervention of BS in clustering can provide feasible solutions in such cases, but the energy expenditure is considerably high. This paper, hence, proposes a hybrid clustering based routing protocol for large WSN that employs certain aspects of centralized as well as that of distributed protocols. Experimental evaluation of the proposed protocol in terms of network lifetime gives promising results that clearly indicate the energy efficiency and consistency of the proposed work in different scenarios. The proposed work can prove beneficial in real-life scenarios where the deployed nodes are far away from the BS. © 2025 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

The most valuable resource on the planet is no longer oil,but *** transmission of this data securely over the internet is another challenge that comes with its ever-increasing *** order to transmit sensitive information securely,researchers are combining robust cryptography and steganographic *** objective of this research is to introduce a more secure method of video steganography by using Deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)for embedding encrypted data and an intelligent frame selection algorithm to improve video *** the previous approach,DNA was used only for frame *** this DNA is compromised,then our frames with the hidden and unencrypted data will be *** the frame selected in this way were random frames,and no consideration was made to the contents of *** data in this way introduces visible artifacts in *** the proposed approach rather than using DNA for frame selection we have created a fakeDNA out of our data and then embedded it in a video file on intelligently selected frames called the complex *** chaotic maps and linear congruential generators,a unique pixel set is selected each time only from the identified complex frames,and encrypted data is embedded in these random *** results demonstrate that the proposed technique shows minimum degradation of the stenographic video hence reducing the very first chances of visual ***,the selection of complex frames for embedding and creation of a fake DNA as proposed in this research have higher peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and reduced mean squared error(MSE)values that indicate improved *** proposed methodology has been implemented in Matlab.

Radio Environment Map (REM) is a multi-domain radio information of a geographical location. In the contemporary period, the proliferation of wireless communication has played a significant role in driving the advancement of emerging technologies, including edge computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). Consequently, there exists a pressing necessity to optimize the utilization of the limited spectrum resources available. A technical paradigm embraced by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to enhance spectrum efficiency is the Database-driven Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) where users with no prime right (secondary user) are allow to opportunistically use the licensed spectrum. The information contained in REM plays a vital role in DSS. This paper reviews the REM concept, the layers of information contained in the REM, REM construction techniques, related works in literature, the state-of-the-art methodology and REM applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Edge computing is migrating services from remote clouds to the network edge, where a vast amount of data is also flowing into edge nodes. In this context, the Edge Data-Sharing System (EDSS) enhances service quality by enabling edge nodes to cooperate. However, the EDSS is suitable for precise search and faces the existing high overhead when many users retrieve similar data. To solve the obstacle, this paper proposes a similarity-based edge storage system, SESS, which leverages the software-defined edge network to realize efficient storage and retrieval of similarity data. We first design RealminHash, a core module of SESS, for efficient signature and and index for each data. Then, SESS calculates the storage strategy based on the similarity between data. Importantly, SESS adjusts this strategy using periodic network information to ensure load balancing. Experimental results demonstrate that SESS realizes the nearest-neighbor storage while maintaining load balancing. SESS outperforms the well-known k-means and spectral clustering methods in terms of accuracy and latency and supports millisecond similar queries. © 2023 IEEE.

Surface sampling is a powerful technique used in computer graphics and visualization to gather data from 3D surfaces. Surface sampling is a process of collecting visual and tactile information from real world surfaces to serve as references for artistic creations. It allows artists to study and analyze the intricate details of surfaces, such as the roughness of tree bark, the smoothness of a pebble, or the subtle variations in fabric patterns. By examining surfaces up close, artists gain insights into the nuances that make each surface visually and texturally distinct. The solution we've developed operates seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices, utilizing the functionalities of widely used web browsers. It eliminates the need for any software installations. Our achievement is founded on fully open-source solutions, allowing users to explore 3D models without any barriers. © 2023 IEEE.

Efficient path planning for on-road vehicle breakdown assistance in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) is crucial for ensuring timely and effective response to incidents. This paper proposes a novel approach that harnesses the adaptive and resilient characteristics of the Honey Badger optimization algorithm along with the deceptive and adaptive behaviors of the Cuttlefish optimization algorithm to optimize path planning in VANETs. The hybridization of these two distinct optimization techniques offers a unique synergy, allowing for robust and agile response strategies in dynamic vehicular environments. Through a comprehensive methodology, we formulate the breakdown assistance problem as an optimization task and integrate the Honey Badger and Cuttlefish algorithms to generate and update paths in real-time. We implement the proposed algorithm in a VANET simulation environment and evaluate its performance using various metrics, including path length, time to reach the stranded vehicle, and resource utilization. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the hybrid algorithm, outperforming traditional approaches and showcasing its potential for enhancing vehicle breakdown assistance in VANETs. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of this work is to examine the application of FHE-SMPC as a viable security model for protecting the tenant isolation in multi-tenant cloud model. In multi-tenant environments, where various customers use the same cloud system, controlling the data leakage and protecting privacy is a major issue. Actual safeguards fail to meet the needs of data protection during processing, therefore, the introduction of highly elaborate encryption processes must happen. This research work focuses on the use of FHE technique and SMPC such that data can undergo processing while the plaintext remains unknown to any party. A kind of approach is based on the acquisition of synthetic and real data sets, system-level architecture, and cryptographic algorithms using open-source libraries with cloud service providers. The results of such implementation indicate that despite the fact that the FHE-SMPC system has a considerable computational overhead in comparison with classical schemes it is very secure and protected against different types of cryptographic attacks. The problem of scalability is still an open issue, but the complex is quite efficient with various data types that is why it can be used in various cloud applications. This paper offers a pertinent solution for security of data that is housed in multitenant environment and will go along way in creating fertile ground for research and innovation in secure clouding. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of technical education is to design a career-based curriculum that imparts a set of skills to students and enable them to contribute to a nation's economic progress. With their multifarious uses, information systems (IS) lie at the heart of modern economies. IS curricula offer several tracks for students to pursue career paths based on their interests and opportunities. To offer students an opportunity to apply the knowledge they glean from classroom instructions on real-world problems, capstone projects are essential elements in most, if not all, IS programs. As IS programs increasingly offer a wider range of career paths for students, the design and delivery of such capstone projects present a set of unique challenges. In this paper, we examine the set of challenges and share our experience from designing and delivering a career track-based capstone course for the first time at a large university. Feedback from students and faculty supervisors indicates that the course was able to meet its learning objectives to a notable extent and offered important pointers to future improvements in the course design. © 2023 IEEE.
