Fault Estimation for a Class of Markov Jump Piecewise-Affine systems: Current Feedback Based Iterative Learning Approach

In this paper, the issues of stochastic stability analysis and fault estimation are investigated for a class of continuoustime Markov jump piecewise-affine(PWA) systems against actuator and sensor faults. Firstly, a novel mode-dependent PWA iterative learning observer with current feedback is designed to estimate the system states and faults, simultaneously, which contains both the previous iteration information and the current feedback mechanism. The auxiliary feedback channel optimizes the response speed of the observer, therefore the estimation error would converge to zero rapidly. Then, sufficient conditions for stochastic stability with guaranteed performance are demonstrated for the estimation error system, and the equivalence relations between the system information and the estimated information can be established via iterative accumulating ***, two illustrative examples containing a class of tunnel diode circuit systems are presented to fully demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed iterative learning observer with current feedback.

Income inequality is widespread in human society and has important implications for human ***’s perception of the environment bridges income inequality and individual behavioral *** research suggests that social income inequality is usually biased,either overestimated or ***,such phenomena have not been fully explored with quantitive prove,especially in the working environment based on performance data of actual *** fact,the correct perception of people is the basis of a fair environment for their production ***,the perception bias may weaken the adaptability and competitiveness of a company in the *** paper first confirms the prevalence of individual perception bias of income inequality within the working environment based on actual production *** results show that people tend to underestimate income inequity around them,and this underestimation grows with the real unfairness of the working ***,this paper proposes a network generation-based framework with a three-layer structure to correct perception bias using a cooperative network reengineering *** the framework,a homophily-based generative network model is proposed as the key *** simulation results show that our proposed framework effectively reduces individuals’perception bias of income inequality.

Mid-wavelength InAs/GaSb type-Ⅱ superlattice barrier detector with nBn design and M barrier

This study reports the performance of an InAs/GaSb type-Ⅱ superlattices(T2SLs) detector with nBn structure for mid-wavelength infrared(MWIR) detection. An electronic band structure of M barrier is calculated using 8-band k·p method, and the nBn structure is designed with the M barrier. The detector is prepared by wet etching, which is simple in manufacturing process. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscope(AFM) characteristics indicate that the detector material has good crystal quality and surface morphology. The saturation bias of the spectral response measurements at 77 K is 300 m V, and the device is promising to work at a temperature of 140 K. Energy gap of T2SLs versus temperature is fitted by the Varshni curve, and zero temperature bandgap Eg(0), empirical coefficients α and β are extracted. A dark current density of 3.2×10-5A/cm2and differential resistance area(RA) product of 1.0×104Ω·cm2are measured at 77 K. The dominant mechanism of dark current at different temperature ranges is analyzed. The device with a 50% cutoff wavelength of 4.68 μm exhibits a responsivity of 0.6 A/W, a topside illuminated quantum efficiency of 20% without antireflection coating(ARC), and a detectivity of 9.17×1011cm·Hz1/2/W at 77 K and 0.3 V.

In Federated Learning (FL) for the low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks with parameters aggregated by a ground station, the communication overhead is a substantial concern. To circumvent this limitation and alleviate the latency within the FL for the satellite-ground communication, Decentralized Federated Learning (DFL) has appeared as an effective solution. However, considering the heterogeneity of satellites, the problem on how to efficiently leverage the limited resources available to enhance the model performance of DFL has drawn little attention, which motivates this work. Specifically, the proposed solution involves optimizing the number of local training rounds across diverse satellites with varying resource budgets to enhance the DFL performance by utilizing the resource more efficiently. Simulation results show that, the proposed scheme achieves a much better performance than the conventional schemes with fixed rounds of local training. © 2024 IEEE.

Promoting polysulfide conversions via cobalt single-atom catalyst for fast and durable lithium-sulfur batteries

Although promising strategies have been developed to resolve the critical drawbacks of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,the intractable issues including undesirable shuttling of polysulfides and sluggish redox reaction kinetics have still been unresolved ***,a cobalt single-atom(CoSA)catalyst comprising of atomic Co distributed homogeneously within nitrogen(N)-doped porous carbon(Co-NPC)nanosphere is constructed and utilized as a separator coating in Li-S *** Co-NPC exposes abundant active sites participating in sulfur redox reactions,and remarkable catalytic activity boosting the rapid polysulfide *** a result,Li-S batteries with Co-NPC coating layer realize significantly enhanced specific capacity(1295 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.2 C),rate capability(753 mAh·g^(-1)at 3.0 C),and long-life cyclic stability(601 mAh·g^(-1)after 500 cycles at 1.0 C).Increasing the areal sulfur loading to 6.2 mg·cm^(-2),an extremely high areal capacity of 7.92 mAh·cm^(-2)is *** in situ X-ray diffraction,density functional theory calculations,and secondary ion mass spectrometry confirm the high catalytic capability of CoSA towards reversible polysulfide *** study supplies new insights for adopting single-atom catalyst to upgrade the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries.

Layer-Wise Learning Rate Optimization for Task-Dependent Fine-Tuning of Pre-Trained Models: An Evolutionary Approach

The superior performance of large-scale pre-Trained models, such as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (GPT), has received increasing attention in both academic and industrial research and has become one of the current research hotspots. A pre-Trained model refers to a model trained on large-scale unlabeled data, whose purpose is to learn general language representation or features for fine-Tuning or transfer learning in subsequent tasks. After pre-Training is complete, a small amount of labeled data can be used to fine-Tune the model for a specific task or domain. This two-stage method of "pre-Training+fine-Tuning"has achieved advanced results in natural language processing (NLP) tasks. Despite widespread adoption, existing fixed fine-Tuning schemes that adapt well to one NLP task may perform inconsistently on other NLP tasks given that different tasks have different latent semantic structures. In this article, we explore the effectiveness of automatic fine-Tuning pattern search for layer-wise learning rates from an evolutionary optimization perspective. Our goal is to use evolutionary algorithms to search for better task-dependent fine-Tuning patterns for specific NLP tasks than typical fixed fine-Tuning patterns. Experimental results on two real-world language benchmarks and three advanced pre-Training language models show the effectiveness and generality of the proposed framework. © 2024 held by the owner/author(s).

Personalized user-driven learning, relying on customized question recommendations, is a crucial aspect of online education platforms. Measuring question similarity and evaluating question difficulty are key challenges in achieving this functionality. The current methods for addressing these two problems suffer from a focus on local question features and heavy reliance on manual annotation. Therefore this paper proposes a novel framework, BERT-wwm-ext with Data Augmentation (BEDA), to leverage semantic information rather than local features, automating question similarity measurement and difficulty evaluation with reduced manual annotation. The framework is applied to practical tasks, such as measuring primary school application question similarity and evaluating difficulty. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our approach over traditional methods, providing vital support for personalized question recommendations in online education platforms. © 2023 IEEE.

Engineered microstructures that mimic in vivo tissues have demonstrated great potential for applications in regenerative medicine,drug screening,and cell behavior ***,current methods for engineering microstructures that mimic the multi-extracellular matrix and multicellular features of natural tissues to realize tissue-mimicking microstructures in vitro remain ***,we propose a versatile method for constructing tissue-mimicking heterogeneous microstructures by orderly integration of macroscopic hydrogel exchange,microscopic cell manipulation,and encapsulation ***,various cell-laden hydrogel droplets are manipulated at the millimeter scale using electrowetting on dielectric to achieve efficient hydrogel ***,the cells are manipulated at the micrometer scale using dielectrophoresis to adjust their density and arrangement within the hydrogel ***,the photopolymerization of these hydrogel droplets is triggered in designated regions by dynamically modulating the shape and position of the excitation ultraviolet ***,heterogeneous microstructures with different extracellular matrix geometries and components were constructed,including specific cell densities and *** resulting heterogeneous microstructure supported long-term culture of hepatocytes and fibroblasts with high cell viability(over 90%).Moreover,the density and distribution of the 2 cell types had significant effects on the cell proliferation and urea *** propose that our method can lead to the construction of additional biomimetic heterogeneous microstructures with unprecedented potential for use in future tissue engineering applications.
