Jammer Localization for Wireless Sensor Networks

Jamming attack can severely affect the performance of Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) due to the broadcast nature of wireless medium. In order to localize the source of the attacker, we in this paper propose a jammer localization algorithm named as Minimum-circlecovering based localization (MCCL). Comparing with the existing solutions that rely on the wireless propagation parameters, MCCL only depends on the location information of sensor nodes at the border of the jammed region. MCCL uses the plane geometry knowledge, especially the minimum circle covering technique, to form an approximate jammed region, and hence the center of the jammed region is treated as the estimated position of the jammer. Simulation results showed that MCCL is able to achieve higher accuracy than other existing solutions in terms of jammer's transmission range and sensitivity to nodes' density.

The TH Express high performance interconnect networks

Interconnection network plays an important role in scalable high performance computer （HPC） systems. The TH Express-2 interconnect has been used in MilkyWay-2 system to provide high-bandwidth and low-latency interprocessot communications, and continuous efforts are devoted to the development of our proprietary interconnect. This paper describes the state-of-the-art of our proprietary interconnect, especially emphasizing on the design of network interface. Several key features are introduced, such as user-level communication, remote direct memory access, offload collective operation, and hardware reliable end-to-end communication, etc. The design of a low level message passing infrastructures and an upper message passing services are also proposed. The preliminary performance results demonstrate the efficiency of the TH interconnect interface.

Accelerated Selective Algebraic Multigrid Method for Fully-Coupled Incompressible Flow Solver

The fully coupled pressure-based algorithm is widely recognised for its superior convergence and robustness in solving incompressible flow problems. However, the increased scale of equations and the difficulty in solving linear systems have limited the widespread use of this algorithm in large-scale simulations. This paper presents an optimised block selective algebraic multigrid method significantly reducing computational complexity. Our approach employs a parallel modified independent set algorithm, allowing each process to perform matrix coarsening individually. Furthermore, an aggressive coarsening strategy is introduced to reduce complexity and enable the solution of larger-scale problems. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the solution time is shortened by 14% to 49% compared to the latest existing methods and outperforms the segregated algorithm. By addressing the computational challenges associated with the selective algebraic multigrid solver, this work unleashes the superior convergence properties of the fully coupled method. © 2025 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

On the 41st Top500 list announced in June 2013, the MilkyWay-2 system produced by National University of Defense technology （NUDT） in China won the first place with a LINPACK test result of 33.86 PFLOPS. It has been one and a half year since its predecessor, MilkyWay-1 （TH-1）, reached the same place for the first time. On the newest Top500 list published in November 2013, MilkyWay-2 continued to win the champion.

Aero engine blade structure is prone to severe fretting wear under centrifugal forces and vibration loads, resulting in greatly reduced engine service life, which is a typical fretting damage problem. In this paper, without Absorbing layer Nanosecond Laser Shock Peening (wAN-LSP) and without Absorbing layer Nanosecond superimposed Femtosecond hybrid Laser Shock Peening (NF-LSP) are utilized to strengthen the surface of GH4169 dovetail joint specimens, which is a common material for engine blades, to explore its strengthening mechanism and fretting wear evolution law. The findings indicate that the surface roughness of the wAN-LSP specimen rises from 0.28 μm to 1.16 μm. The thermal effects of wAN-LSP lead to the formation of a molten layer roughly 10.97 μm thick on the surface, accompanied by numerous pits, ablation holes, and micro-cracks. In contrast, NF-LSP treatment effectively eliminates the surface oxidation defects made by the thermal effects of wAN-LSP, leading to a slight decrease in surface roughness. Both wAN-LSP and NF-LSP treatments enhance the surface hardness of the specimens, creating a plastic deformation layer roughly 400 μm deep, but the near surface hardness of NF-LSP treated specimen is further improved compared to that of the wAN-LSP specimen. The wear mechanism observed in the GH4169 dovetail joint specimens following wAN-LSP and NF-LSP treatment are identified as abrasive wear and oxidation wear. Initially, as the number of cycles raises, the wear volume of GH4169 specimen treated with wAN-LSP is higher than that of untreated specimen, but subsequently, it becomes lesser than that of the untreated specimen. This phenomenon results from the interplay between the molten layer and hardened layer. In the initial stage of wear, despite the surface strengthening of the wAN-LSP specimen, the presence of molten layer significantly diminishes the fretting wear resistance of the material. Improving vertex-frontier based GPU breadth-first search

Breadth-first search(BFS) is an important kernel for graph traversal and has been used by many graph processing applications. Extensive studies have been devoted in boosting the performance of BFS. As the most effective solution, GPU-acceleration achieves the state-of-the-art result of 3.3×109 traversed edges per second on a NVIDIA Tesla C2050 GPU. A novel vertex frontier based GPU BFS algorithm is proposed, and its main features are three-fold. Firstly, to obtain a better workload balance for irregular graphs, a virtual-queue task decomposition and mapping strategy is introduced for vertex frontier expanding. Secondly, a global deduplicate detection scheme is proposed to remove reduplicative vertices from vertex frontier effectively. Finally, a GPU-based bottom-up BFS approach is employed to process large frontier. The experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm can achieve 10% improvement over the state-of-the-art method on diverse graphs. Especially, it exhibits 2-3 times speedup on low-diameter and scale-free graphs over the state-of-the-art on a NVIDIA Tesla K20 c GPU, reaching a peak traversal rate of 11.2×109 edges/s.

Detailed and clock-driven simulation for HPC interconnection network

Performance and energy consumption of high performance computing （HPC） interconnection networks have a great significance in the whole supercomputer, and building up HPC interconnection network simulation plat- form is very important for the research on HPC software and hardware technologies. To effectively evaluate the per- formance and energy consumption of HPC interconnection networks, this article designs and implements a detailed and clock-driven HPC interconnection network simulation plat- form, called HPC-NetSim. HPC-NetSim uses application- driven workloads and inherits the characteristics of the de- tailed and flexible cycle-accurate network simulator. Besides, it offers a large set of configurable network parameters in terms of topology and routing, and supports router＇s on/off states. We compare the simulated execution time with the real execution time of Tianhe-2 subsystem and the mean error is only 2.7%. In addition, we simulate the network behaviors with different network structures and low-power modes. The results are also consistent with the theoretical analyses.

To security support large-scale intelligent applications,distributed machine learning based on blockchain is an intuitive solution ***,the distributed machine learning is difficult to train due to that the corresponding optimization solver algorithms converge slowly,which highly demand on computing and memory *** overcome the challenges,we propose a distributed computing framework for L-BFGS optimization algorithm based on variance reduction method,which is a lightweight,few additional cost and parallelized scheme for the model training *** validate the claims,we have conducted several experiments on multiple classical *** show that our proposed computing framework can steadily accelerate the training process of solver in either local mode or distributed mode.

Fast image matching algorithm based on affine invariants

Feature-based image matching algorithms play an indispensable role in automatic target recognition （ATR）. In this work, a fast image matching algorithm （FIMA） is proposed which utilizes the geometry feature of extended centroid （EC） to build affine invariants. Based on at-fine invariants of the length ratio of two parallel line segments, FIMA overcomes the invalidation problem of the state-of-the-art algorithms based on affine geometry features, and increases the feature diversity of different targets, thus reducing misjudgment rate during recognizing targets. However, it is found that FIMA suffers from the parallelogram contour problem and the coincidence invalidation. An advanced FIMA is designed to cope with these problems. Experiments prove that the proposed algorithms have better robustness for Gaussian noise, gray-scale change, contrast change, illumination and small three-dimensional rotation. Compared with the latest fast image matching algorithms based on geometry features, FIMA reaches the speedup of approximate 1.75 times. Thus, FIMA would be more suitable for actual ATR applications.

Optimizing guest swapping using elastic and transparent memory provisioning on virtualization platform

On virtualization platforms, peak memory de- mand caused by hotspot applications often triggers page swapping in guest OS, causing performance degradation in- side and outside of this virtual machine （VM）. Even though host holds sufficient memory pages, guest OS is unable to utilize free pages in host directly due to the semantic gap between virtual machine monitor （MM） and guest operat- ing system （OS）. Our work aims at utilizing the free memory scattered in multiple hosts in a virtualization environment to improve the performance of guest swapping in a transparent and implicit way. Based on the insightful analysis of behav- ioral characteristics of guest swapping, we design and im- plement a distributed and scalable framework HybridSwap. It dynamically constructs virtual swap pools using various policies, and builds up a synthetic swapping mechanism in a peer-to-peer way, which can adaptively choose different vir- tual swap pools. We implement the prototype of HybridSwap and evaluate it with some benchmarks in different scenar- ios. The evaluation results demonstrate that our solution has the ability to promote the guest swapping efficiency indeed and shows a double performance promotion in some cases. Even in the worst case, the system overhead brought by Hy- bridSwap is acceptable.
