By adopting successive cancellation list decoding (SCL), polar codes demonstrate competitive error correction performance over LDPC and Turbo codes. However, SCL decoding suffers from high computational complexity and long decoding latency, especially when the list size is very large. Successive cancellation flip (SCF), as another decoding algorithm that can achieve high error correction performance, has a complexity that is close to that of successive cancellation (SC) decoding. With the observation that SCL and SCF decoding are similar at giving more chances to inspect possible codewords simultaneously or sequentially, a novel hybrid decoder is proposed in this paper, which essentially combines the ideas of SCF and SCL decoders. Moreover, in order to compensate for the degradation of performance caused by the reduction of path splitting and further reduce the decoding latency, the convolutional polar codes are adopted with a designed bit-flipping set. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed decoder achieves the reduction of decoding latency while attaining better performance than conventional CRC-aided SCL decoder.

Docker is one of the most popular containerization tools in current DevOps practice. Particularly, Dockerfile plays an important role in the Docker-based software development process by specifying the commands and build environment of Docker containers. As a project progresses through its development stages, the content of the Dockerfile may be revised many times. Previous studies have examined Dockerfile usage in open-source projects. However, little is known about the details of Dockerfile changes in practice. In this paper, we conduct an empirical study on Dockerfile changes for 4,110 open-source projects hosted on GitHub. Based on the Dockerfile data, we measure the frequency, magnitude, and instructions of Dockerfile changes and report how Dockerfile co-changed with other files. To explore the relationship between Dockerfile changes and project outcomes, i.e., popularity, success, and productivity, we also develop regression models, by controlling for various confounds. Our findings help to characterize and understand Dockerfile changes and motivate the need for collecting more empirical evidence.

Data detection is among the most crucial process task for massive multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems. In this letter, we propose a novel efficient high precision soft-output data detection algorithm, which iteratively generates a signal vector and reduces its complexity meanwhile. This algorithm guarantees its significant error-rate performance and reduced complexity by combing an optimization method, ADMM, and modified neighborhood search algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed detection achieves superior performance over the existing methods at low computational complexity. © 2019 IEEE.

Human head detection is a widely used task and suitable for identifying persons in practical applications. Although existing methods have achieved significant progress, the problems of false alarm and miss detection are still challenging, which arise from weak classification power of detector in the face of variability in occlusion, illumination, etc. In this paper, we present an effective end-to-end head detector called Spatial Attention Network with feature Mimicking(SANM) that can obtain better feature and enhanced classification power, through attention mechanism and a feature mimic method. The spatial-wise attention is extracted from several levels of feature and supervised by the bounding-box annotated heat map. The attention improves the quality of the features in the head and opposite area. To further improve the classification ability, we utilize the feature mimicking method to drive network learning the feature refined by a deep cascading classifier. Compared with the baseline model, our method achieves better performance and produces leading results on head detection benchmarks.

With the exponential growth of mobile traffic data, mobile traffic classification is in a great need. It is an essential step to improve the performance of network services such as QoS and security monitoring. However, the widespread use of encrypted protocols, especially the TLS protocol, has posed great challenges to traditional traffic classification techniques. As the rule-based deep packet inspection approaches are ineffective for encrypted traffic classification, various machine learning methods have been studied and used. Recently, deep learning solutions which enable automatic feature extraction are also proposed to classify encrypted traffic. In this paper we propose App-Net, an end-to-end hybrid neural network, to learn effective features from raw TLS flows for mobile app identification. App-Net is designed by combining RNN and CNN in a parallel way. So that it can learn a joint flow-app embedding to characterize both flow sequence patterns and unique app signatures. We evaluate App-Net on a real-world dataset that covering 80 apps. The results show that our method can achieve an excellent performance and outperform the state-of-the-art methods.

Aiming at the fine-grained sentiment classification that distinguishes the emotional intensity, the commonly used dataset SST-1 is analyzed in depth. Through the analysis, it is found that the dataset has serious problems such as data imbalance and small overall scale, which seriously restricts the classification effect. In order to solve the related problems, data augmentation method is adopted to realize the optimization of the dataset. The IMDB and other data which are relatively homologous to the original dataset are annotated, and the focus is to expand the categories with fewer numbers. By this way, the problem of data imbalance is effectively alleviated and the original data scale is expanded. Then, based on the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) model, which has good overall performance on natural language processing, the benchmark classification model is built. Through multiple comparison experiments on the original dataset and the enhanced data, the influence of the deficiency of the original dataset on the classification effect is verified. And, it is fully demonstrated that the enhanced data can effectively improve the test results and solve the problem of large differences in performance between different categories well. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Convolutional layers are ubiquitous in a variety of deep neural networks. Due to the lower computation complexity and the smaller number of parameters, convolutions with small filter sizes are often used, such as one by one convolution. Nevertheless, these small convolution operations are still time-consuming. A common approach to implementing convolutions is to transform them into matrix multiplications, known as GEMM-based convolutions. The approach maybe incurs additional memory overhead and calls matrix multiplication routines, which are not optimized for matrices generated by convolutions. In this paper, we present a new parallel one by one direct convolution implementation on ARMv8 multi-core CPUs, which doesn't incur any additional memory space requirement. Our implementation is verified on two ARMv8 CPUs, Phytium FT-1500A and FT-2000plus. In terms of performance and scalability, our implementation is better than GEMM-based implementations in all the tests on Phytium FT-1500A. On Phytium FT-2000plus, our approach gives much better performance and scalability than GEMM-based approaches in most cases.

Code clone helps improving programming productivity, while at the same time leads to many negative effects on software maintenance. Many approaches have been proposed to detect clones, but most of them fail on detecting low similarity code snippets. In this paper, we propose a Siamese network which links two recursive autoencoders (RAE) with a comparator network for clone detection. The unweighted recursive autoencoder is designed to learn code representation and then the comparator network is employed for similarity evaluation. In this Siamese network, it takes full advantages of lexical, semantic and structure information, and achieves high accuracy in revealing tiny similarity. We conduct comprehensive experiments on BigCloneBench using tagged clones as well as the whole repository respectively. The results suggest that our approach achieves good accuracy, and its recall reaches 93.02 % in WT3/T4, which outperforms state-of-the-art.

With the rapid development of Internet technology, various network attack methods come out one after the other. SQL injection has become one of the most severe threats to Web applications and seriously threatens various Web application services and users' data security. There are both traditional detection methods and emerging methods based on deep learning technology with higher detection accuracy for the detection of SQL injection. However, they are all for detecting a single statement and cannot determine the stage of the attack. To further improve the effect of SQL injection detection, this paper proposes an integrated detection framework for SQL injection behavior based on both text features and traffic features. We propose a SQL-LSTM model based on deep learning technology as the detection model at the text features level. Meanwhile,the features of the data traffic are merged. By this integrated method, the detection effect of SQL injection is further improved.
