Face recognition is one of typical biometric identification method, which has a great prospect in secure authentication system, file management, human-computer interaction and social security. This paper proposes gray-scale characteristics and creates facial templates to recognize faces method based on a given number of samples. Firstly, it selects the method of building template according to the number of samples to create the facial template image; then, it will compare the difference of first-order edge entropy between recognition image and the template image and find the best match result; finally, the recognition result is output. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has good recognition effect on face recognition under non-constraint conditions.

The present paper deals with a new continuous undelayed state observer based trajectory tracking approach by using only the sampled and delayed measurements where the sampling period and delayed value are variable and unknown. This proposed event-triggered sampling observer based control, which is derived by using the theory of a particular hybrid systems called Piecewise Continuous Systems, has a very simple structure and can be easily implemented to the networked visual servoing control systems. With the rise in the population of the world's cities, understanding the dynamics of commuters' transportation patterns has become crucial in the planning and management of urban facilities and services. In this study, we analyze how commuter patterns change during different time instances such as between weekdays and weekends. To this end, we propose two data mining techniques, namely Common Orthogonal Basis Extraction (COBE), and Joint and Individual Variation Explained (JIVE) for Integrated Analysis of Multiple Data Types and apply them to smart card data available for passengers in Singapore. We also discuss the issues of model selection and interpretability of these methods. The joint and individual patterns can help transportation companies optimize their resources in light of changes in commuter mobility behavior.

Passive source location attracts a growing interest due to its usefulness in various applications such as wireless communications, microphone arrays, sensor networks and so on. This paper combines the time differences of arrival (TDOA) and gain ratios of arrival (GROA) techniques to present a novel dual-station source location method of a known altitude object in 3D space. The closed form solution and performance evaluation are also given in the following section. The final simulation shows that the proposed method is feasible when the constraint height error is small and can reach the CRLB. GDOP analysis shows that the error is large on the midperpendicular line of the two stations.

Multi-channel Synthetic Aperture radar (SAR) in azimuth, which can be utilized to suppress the Doppler ambiguity to achieve the High-Resolution Wide-Swath (HRWS) SAR images, suffers from the amplitude and phase mismatch among the channels. This paper presents a novel data-based phase bias estimation method in time-domain. Firstly, the echoes in time-domain received by the adjacent channels are processed to get interferometric phases, which consist of the Doppler centroid information and the difference of the phase biases between the adjacent channels. Then, the Doppler centroid can be extracted by circular integral of the adjacent interferometric phases. Finally, the phase bias between each channel and the reference one can be obtained by integral of the interferometric phase subtracted by the phase of the Doppler centroid. Using the presented method, both the phase bias and the Doppler centroid of the raw echoes can be effectively estimated. The performance of presented method is validated by the experiments of simulated spaceborne multi-channel SAR data.
