In this paper the distributed source model of first-order scatter from ocean currents is put forward, which can describe the distributed characteristics of ocean currents effectively and be used to evaluate the spatial spectrum estimation techniques under different conditions. Then the numerical simulation of the first-order scatter is carried out using this model. The performance of the MUSIC and the generalized MUSIC algorithms is investigated with the simulated data and the influence of the amplitude-phase error of the channel is evaluated simultaneously. The results show that the distributed source model presented in this paper provides an effective way to model the first-order scatter from ocean currents.

This paper proposes an algorithm of BP neural network, which reproduces a color image under D65 light conditions by using a pair of images (one with no D65 light source, and the other with D65 light source). The result of reproduction image which used a fluorescent lamp as an unknown light source is presented. This algorithm successfully removes the effect of the unknown light source color and achieves color constancy at a practical computational cost. The experiment results show that the validity of the proposed algorithm.

A wideband circularly polarized square slot microstrip antenna with parasitic patch is presented. In this study, the antenna is excited by L-shaped microstrip feed line. The wide axial-radio (AR) and impedance bandwidth are achieved by adjusting the parasitic patch and relative parameters. The proposed antenna has been optimized and fabricated, and the measured results demonstrate a 3-dB AR and 10 dB return loss with bandwidth around 44.9% and 44.4% respectively.

It is well-known that finding paths with minimum hop count leads to poor performance in wireless mesh networks (WMN) because the assumption of the same transmission failure probability in all links may not be true. A routing metric can assist traditional routing protocol in selecting better paths by explicitly taking the interference, delay etc. into account. This paper presents a thorough review and a comparison of 10 kinds of routing metrics designed for diverse QoS requirements in WMN. Meanwhile, this paper classifies these routing metrics into three basic types, ETX-based metrics, mETX, and some other metrics less attractive to WMN routing layer, for better understanding and future applications. To the best of our knowledge, no paper except this one has such a comprehensive review of routing metrics utilized in WMN.

In this paper, we study the performances of a novel CFAR in homogeneous environment. This processor consists to take maximum power of cells in the reference windows and multiply it by a coefficient alpha (alpha < 1) to obtain the background level estimate. We assume that the target is embedded in a white Gaussian noise and fluctuate according to a Swirling I model. Closed form expressions of the probabilities of detection and false alarm are determined and the performance of the proposed detector is investigated.
