To assess the effects of a time-restricted feeding(TRF)regimen on meat quality of pigs exposed to high ambient temperature,a two-month feeding and heat treatment(HT)trial was conducted using a 2×2 factorial design.A total of 24 growing pigs(11.0±1.9 kg)were randomly divided into four groups:thermal neutral group(NT,24±3°C),HT group(exposed to a high temperature at 35±2°C from 11:00 to 15:00),TRF group and HT+TRF group(HT and TRF co-treatment group,n=6 for each group).Pigs in TRF groups got access to feed within 5 h from 9:00 to14:00,while the others were fed at 6:00,11:30,and 16:*** pigs received the same diet during the *** results showed that HT increased the drip loss,shear force,lightness,and malondialdehyde production in Longissimus thoracis et lumborum(LTL)*** reversely reduced the shear force and drip loss,accompanied by decreased intramuscular fat and increased moisture *** fiber transformation from type 1 to type 2b and down-regulated expression of muscle growth-related genes were observed by HT,while TRF suppressed the fiber transformation and expression of muscle atrophy-related ***,TRF restored the diminished protein expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1 in LTL muscle by chronic *** of HSP70 in muscle of HT group was reduced by treatment of *** declined the expression of vital genes involved in fatty acids poly-desaturation and the proportion of(polyunsaturated fatty acids)PUFAs,mainly omega-6 in LTL muscle,while TRF group promoted the expression of poly-desaturation pathway and displayed the highest proportion of *** results demonstrated that TRF relieved the chronic high temperature affected meat quality by the restored expression of Nrf2/HO-1 anti-oxidative cascade,modified muscle fiber composition,and enriched PUFAs in LTL muscle.

This paper presents a unified framework of stabilized finite element method for solving the Boltzmann transport equation. Unlike the traditional Petrov-Galerkin finite element method which modify the test function to construct the stabilization term, we derive the stabilization methods from the standard Galerkin weak form with Sub-grid scale model. The basic idea of this method is to decompose the unknowns into its numerical solution and residual, with an approximation for the residual and embed it in the Galerkin weak form yields a stabilized variational formula. Different approximations of the residual lead to different stabilization methods, all the frequently used stabilized methods, including the Streamline Upwinding Petrov-Galerkin (SUPG) method, Galerkin/Least-Square (GLS) method, and Algebraic Sub-Grid Scale (ASGS) method can be obtained from this framework. The similarities and differences of the different approximations are compared in this paper. The numerical results show that the behaviors of the different methods are similar with the same stabilization parameter, and all these stabilized techniques can obtain correct and stable solution. © 2022 Proceedings of the International Conference on Physics of reactors, PHYSOR 2022. The selection of hyperparameters in regularized least squares plays an important role in large-scale system identification. The traditional methods for selecting hyperparameters are based on experience or marginal likelihood maximization method, which are inaccurate or computationally expensive. In this paper, two posterior methods are proposed to select hyperparameters based on different prior knowledge (constraints), which can obtain the optimal hyperparameters using the optimization theory. Moreover, we also give the theoretical optimal constraints, and verify its effectiveness. Numerical simulation shows that the hyperparameters and parameter vector estimate obtained by the proposed methods are the optimal ones.

The open ratio of a current collector has a great impact on direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC)*** a number of studies have investigated the influence of the open ratio of DMFC current collectors,far too little attention has been given to how geometry(including the shape and feature size of the flow field)affects a current collector with an equal open *** this paper,perforated and parallel current collectors with an equal open ratio of 50%and different feature sizes are designed,and the corresponding experimental results are shown to explain the geometry effects on the output power of the *** results indicate that the optimal feature sizes are between 2 and 2.5 mm for both perforated and parallel flow field in the current collectors with an equal open ratio of 50%.This means that for passive methanol fuel cells,to achieve the highest output power,the optimal feature size of the flow field in both anode and cathode current collectors is between 2 and 2.5 mm under the operating mode of this *** effects of rib and channel position are also investigated,and the results indicate that the optimum pattern depends on the feature sizes of the flow field.

Soundscape and Influencing Audio-Visual Factors of Tourism Villages in Northern China

With the continuous development of rural tourism, the sound environment of public spaces in tourism villages has been receiving increasing attention. To optimize the soundscape of public spaces in these villages, this paper studies five typical tourism villages in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the largest urban agglomeration in northern China. Through fields surveys on the audio-visual landscape factors and Virtual Reality (VR) experiments, the soundscape and visual landscape of the typical public spaces in these villages are evaluated. Correlation analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM) are employed to analyse the influence of visual landscape factors on soundscape evaluation. The results indicate that, among the three types of public spaces surveyed (i.e., squares, parks, and pavements), human sounds and natural sounds are the primary sound sources in squares, whereas natural sounds prevail in parks and pavements. Moreover, the sound pressure level in parks is relatively high. The pleasantness results in squares, parks and public spaces along the streets are positive, and the eventfulness results in squares and parks are mostly, positive, whereas the pleasantness results in the public spaces along the streets are mostly negative. Furthermore, the results indicate that greenery satisfaction, architectural aesthetics and space openness are significantly positively correlated with soundscape pleasantness, however greenery satisfaction, environmental cleanliness, sky visibility and space openness are significantly negatively correlated with soundscape eventfulness. Using SEM, we found that architectural aesthetics and space openness had positive effects on soundscape pleasantness, with standardised path coefficients of 0.196 and 0.152, respectively (p © 2025 International Institute of Acoustics and Vibrations. The intelligent electronic devices have urgent demands for electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding films with excellent heat dissipation ***,it is challenging to obtain excellent EMI shielding and thermal conductivity performances ***,inspired by mille-feuille structure,the multifunctional EMI shielding films developed by a layer-by-layer self-assembly and hot-pressing *** ingenious introduction of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)with large specific surface area and highly conductive into the network formed by TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils(TOCNFs)with large aspect ratio to form the TOCNFs/*** the graphene nanoplates(GNPs)with high conductivity loss distributed alternately with TOCNFs/AgNPs to construct mille-feuille structure,which had highly efficient conductive network,complete thermally conduction pathway and rich heterogeneous ***,the designed films presented high electrical conductivity of 8520 S/cm,superb EMI effectiveness(SE)of 98.05 dB,and excellent thermal conductivity of 18.82 W/(m·K).Furthermore,the films possessed outstanding Joule heating performances with low voltages,including high heating temperature(100℃),fast response time(<20 s),and impressive heating stability and ***,such high-performance EMI shielding films with fascinating thermal conductivity and Joule heating performances have substantial application in flexible electronics,electromagnetic waves shielding and thermal management.

Optimization of spatial structure designs of control rod using Monte Carlo code RMC

Control rod is the most important approach to control reactivity in reactors,which is currently a cluster of pins filled with boron carbide(B4C).In this case,neutrons are captured in the outer region,and thus the inner absorber is ***,the lifetime of the control rod is challenged due to the high reactivity worth loss resulted from the excessive degradation of B4C in the high flux *** this work,some control rod designs are proposed with optimized spatial structures including the spatially mixed rod,radially moderated rod,and composite control rod with small-sized *** control rod worth and effective absorption cross section of these designs are computed using the Monte Carlo code RMC.A long-time depletion calculation is conducted to evaluate their burnup *** the spatially mixed rod,rare-earth absorbers are combined with B4C in spatial *** with the homogenous B4C rod,mixed designs ensure more sufficient reactivity worth in the lifetime of the *** minimum reactivity loss at the end of the cycle is only 1.8%from the dysprosium titanate rod,while the loss for pure B4C rod is nearly 12%.For the radially moderated design,a doubled neutronic efficiency is achieved when the volume ratio of moderator equals approximately 0.3,while excessive moderating may lead to the failure of control *** control rod with small-sized pins processes an enhanced safety performance and saves the investment in *** rod worth can be further enhanced by introducing small moderator pins,and the reactivity loss caused by the reduction of absorbers is sustainable.

Fault diagnosis of complex control systems is a difficult and hot topic of research at this stage. In order to explore the internal operation characteristics of complex control systems and fault propagation methods to achieve efficient and accurate fault diagnosis, this paper studies control system fault diagnosis methods based on cause-effect relationships, analyzes the role relationship between system components from the perspective of control equation structure, proposes the method of constructing cause-effect diagram models with control equations, and uses the algorithm of way to implement, and then combine the information flow to quantify the causal effect quantifiably, when the system steady state is disrupted, the information flow produces a jump, so as to extend the fault diagnosis reasoning method. The fault diagnosis is verified by simulation of the pressure control system of the nuclear power plant regulator, and the experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Urbanizations and industrializations may accelerate the contamination and deterioration of groundwater quality. This study aimed to evaluate the quality and potential human health risks associated with shallow groundwater in Shenzhen, China, a city characterized by high levels of urbanization and industrialization. The hydrochemistry characteristics, water quality levels, and human health risks of main ions, nutrient elements, and metals in 220 samples collected from Maozhou River Basin (MRB) located in the northwest of Shenzhen were investigated. It showed that chemical constituents of the groundwater were further complicated by seawater intrusion and urbanization expansion. Water quality evaluated by fuzzy comprehensive method showed that 21.05% of samples distributed around reservoirs were classified into grade II or better. Nearly 79% of samples distributed in the densely populated urban land were classified into grade III or worse, indicating pollution from anthropogenic factors cannot be ignored. For the river tidal reach where river stage fluctuated about 0.5 to 1.5 m within a tidal cycle, the chemical composition of groundwater was influenced by frequent water exchange with the river. The carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic health risks for different age groups, from the high to the low, were children, adult women, adult men, adolescent women, and adolescent men, respectively. Approximately 39% of groundwater samples distributed around the densely populations area with health risk larger than 5 × 10−5 were unacceptable for children. This investigation would be helpful for improving groundwater management and as a practical reference for sustainable groundwater exploitation in the MRB. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
