The supercooled water droplets in the air will form a water film on the aircraft during flight, which will then form icing, which will have an impact on the aerodynamic performance of the aircraft and even endanger the flight safety. In this paper, based on the Eulerian Wall Films model, the partial wetting effect is introduced, and the water film flow on flat plates driven by airflow shear force is investigated. The flow behaviours of water film with different contact angles under different flow rates were explored through water film test. The effectiveness of the calculation method for water film flow characteristics in this paper was verified by comparison between numerical simulation and test records, which laid a foundation for the anti-icing calculation in subsequent studies.

In this paper, an energy-efficient tracking control method is proposed for a X rudder AUV. First, the mathematical model and trajectory tracking problem are presented. Then, an energy-efficient tracking controller is designed based on time-varying LOS guidance and feedback dynamics control law. Besides, in order to achieve energy-efficient X rudder allocation, a multi-objective optimization method is proposed. Moreover, the rudder error dynamics is considered and compensated by rudder error disturbance observer. Finally, comparative numerical simulations are carried out to demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2021 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

Chloride ions, water, and oxygen could cause the corrosion of steel fiber in the aggressive environment. The corrosion of steel fiber in UHPC is a long-term process and the rate is very slow. As one of the important components of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), the corrosion of steel fiber is the result of multiple factors. The characteristics of steel fiber corrosion in UHPC, the factors influencing the corrosion of steel fiber in UHPC (including nanomaterials, curing condition and crack width), and effects of steel fiber corrosion on the UHPC performance (including mechanical properties, matrix rehydration and corrosion of steel bar), are emphatically elaborated. And the control methods of steel fiber corrosion in UHPC are briefly introduced, i.e. hybrid fibers and stainless steel fibers. © 2021 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Impacts of Nanoparticle Shape on Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-Water Nanofluid Flow and Heat Transfer over a Non-Linear Radically Stretching Sheet

The results of this article can be useful in science and technology advancement, such as nanofluidics, micro mixing and energy conversion. The purpose of this article is to examine the impacts of nanoparticle shape on Al2O3-water nanofluid and heat transfer over a non-linear radically stretching sheet in the existence of magnetic field and thermal radiation. The different shapes of Al2O3 nanoparticles that have under contemplation are column, sphere, hexahedron, tetrahedron, and lamina. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) of the problem are regenerated into set of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by using appropriate similarity transformation. The bvp4c program has used to solve the obtained non-linear ordinary differential equation (ODEs). The Nusselt number for all shapes of Al2O3 nanoparticle shapes in pure water with is presented in graphical form. It has reported that the heat transfer augmentation in lamina shapes nanoparticles is more than other shapes of nanoparticle. The relation of thermal boundary layer with shapes of nanoparticles, solid volume fraction, magnetic field and thermal radiation has also presented with the help of graphical representation. It is also demonstrated that lamina shape nanoparticles have showed large temperature distribution than other shapes of nanoparticles.

The tissue expression level of BPI gene in piglets from newborn to weaning and its relationship with Gram-negative bacterial infection

The bactericidal/permeability increasing protein (BPI) has an important function of nonspecific killing of Gram-negative bacteria. In this study, qPCR was used to detect the expression of the BPI gene in twelve tissues of Meishan piglets from birth to weaning. BPI gene overexpression, bacterial adhesions count and indirect immunofluorescence were applied to analyze the relationship between BPI gene expression and the infectivity of Escherichia coli and Salmonella. The results showed that the BPI gene was expressed highly in duodenum, jejunum and ileum (fold changes of relative expression levels were more than 10 000, 500 and 200, respectively). The expression of the BPI gene at 35 days of age was significantly higher (P<0.01) than that at all other days. Transcription of the BPI gene was up-regulated 2 401-fold in porcine intestinal epithelial (IPEC-J2) cells that were transfected with the BPI gene overexpression lentivirus (IPEC-J2-BPI), and significantly higher (P<0.01) than that in negative control cells (IPEC-J2-NC). Protein expression levels in IPEC-J2-BPI cells were also increased. When IPEC-J2 cells were incubated with E. coli and Salmonella, respectively, for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 h, the number of bacterial adhesions in IPEC-J2-BPI cells was significantly less (P<0.05) than that in IPEC-J2-NC cells. The results of indirect immunofluorescence analysis showed that the number of bacterial adhesions in IPEC-J2-BPI cells was significantly less (P<0.01) than that in IPEC-J2-NC cells. These results demonstrated that the BPI gene might play an important role in regulating weaning stress especially intestinal-mediated immune response. Overexpression of the BPI gene at the cellular level could significantly enhance the anti-bactericidal ability against Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. This has important biological significance in piglet resistance to bacterial diarrhea.

Signatures of both the quantum anomalous Hall effect and axion electrodynamics have been recently observed to exist in thin films of MnBi2Te4, a stoichiometric antiferromagnetic topological insulator. Direct evidence of the bulk topological magnetoelectric response in an axion insulator requires an energy gap at its topological surface state (TSS). However, independent spectroscopic experiments revealed that such a surface gap is much smaller than previously thought. Here we utilize angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations to demonstrate that a sizable TSS gap unexpectedly exists in Sb-doped MnBi2Te4 where the bulk system remains topologically nontrivial. This gap is found to be insensitive to the bulk antiferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition, while it enlarges along with increasing Sb concentration, enabling simultaneous tunability of the Fermi level and the TSS gap size (up to >100 meV). Our work shows that Sb dopants in MnBi2Te4 can not only control the Fermi level but also induce a tunable surface gap, providing a potential platform to observe the key features of the high-temperature axion-insulator phase.

Lithium-sulfur batteries are promising for next-generation energy storage but face challenges such as polysulfideshuttle effect, slow kinetics and lithium dendrite growth. Here we report a two-dimensional defective carbon-based material with sulfur and selenium co-loaded as a synergistic cathode. The cathode exhibits high initial capacity of 1450 mAh/g at 0.1 C and low capacity decay rates of 0.09% and 0.13% for 500 cycles and 300 cycles at 0.5 C and 2 C, respectively. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Density functional theory calculations (DFT) show that there is a strong adsorption effect between sulfur, selenium and the substrate material, which can inhibit the generation of shuttle effects. Our work provides a scalable and viable strategy for long-term lithium storage applications. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Investigations on the Two-Phase Flow and Heat Transfer Behaviors in a Central Uniform Dispersion-Type Heat Exchanger

In order to improve the temperature uniformity of multiple chips, a central uniform distributed heat exchanger (CUD) is designed. Firstly, using ethanol solution as coolant, the cooling ability of the heat exchanger is numerically investigated by using VOF gas-liquid two-phase flow model, and the two-phase flow experimental system is established to verify the correctness of the numerical results. The results verifies the accuracy of the numerical simulation method. Secondly, the two-phase flow boiling heat transfer behavior are compared with that of single-phase flow with water as coolant. The results show that with the increase of inlet flow, the thermal resistance and average temperature of two-phase flow change less than that of single-phase flow. This indicating that two-phase flow has better advantages in improving the temperature uniformity of multiple heat sources. Thirdly, the heat transfer characteristics of radiators with different Wi are studied. Finally, the prediction functions of the boiling heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop is established, and the multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to obtain the best parameters of this heat exchanger.. Furthermore, the heat dissipation of the optimized heat exchanger design is studied numerically. The simulated results are in good agreement with the optimization results. © 2022, The Authors.
