This paper presents a refined coarse frame synchronization algorithm for long repeated-sequence based preamble STF (short training field) in burst mode MR-OFDM system of 802.15.4g which is of low decision delay and resistant to timing uncertainty due to metric plateau. The precision of coarse timing and frequency offset estimation is improved. A fine symbol timing and frequency offset estimation algorithm based on LTF (long training field) is also proposed which provides an overall solution for the synchronization of burst mode MR-OFDM system. Simulation results are given to provide reference for implementation. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

The goal of this research is to generate high quality chromatic Contrast Sensitivity Function (CSF) over a wide range of spatial frequencies from 0.06 to 3.84 cycles per degree (cpd) surrounding 5 CIE proposed colour centres (white, red, yellow, green and blue) to study colour difference. At each centre, 6 colour directions at each of 7 frequencies were sampled, from 0.06 to 3.84 cycles per degree (cpd) corresponding to the number of cycles: From 2.3 to 144.4 respectively. A threshold method based on forced-choice stair-case was adopted to investigate the just noticeable (threshold) colour difference. The results revealed that the chromatic CSF under the present experimental conditions having many lower spatial frequencies covering five colour centres to be band pass, whereas previous results indicated it was low pass. However, this could be caused by the present experimental conditions such as fixed-size stimuli and constant luminance. The new chromatic CSF for R-G and Y-B channels were also developed © 2020 Society for Imaging science and technology.

Most studies on grey models (GMs) focus on modeling and optimizing the construction and parameters of GMs, but not on the data and one-step prediction. Generally, GM(1,1) ignores the function of new data and is employed for multistep prediction. In multistep prediction, the worse the prediction precision, the larger the number of prediction steps will be. From the viewpoint of a sliding data window, the current one-step prediction will correspond to the past nth step prediction that was done by the fixed data window. In addition, the value of the first step prediction, sliding over time, is widely used in practice and is expected to be very accurate. Therefore, the sliding data window removes the old data and uses the new data. This is introduced to improve the past nth step prediction precision that corresponds to the current one-step prediction precision. Through the example of forecasts of Chinese energy consumption, the prediction precision can be enhanced effectively. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We perform a theoretical study of the electronic structure and magnetic properties of the prototypical magnetic MAX-phase Mn2GaC with the main focus given to the origin of magnetic interactions in this system. Using the density functional theory+dynamical mean-field theory (DFT+DMFT) method, we explore the effects of electron-electron interactions and magnetic correlations on the electronic properties, magnetic state, and spectral weight coherence of paramagnetic and magnetically ordered phases of Mn2GaC. We also benchmark the DFT-based disordered local moment approach for this system by comparing the obtained electronic and magnetic properties with that of the DFT+DMFT method. Our results reveal a complex magnetic behavior characterized by a near degeneracy of the ferro- and antiferromagnetic configurations of Mn2GaC, implying a high sensitivity of its magnetic state to fine details of the crystal structure and unit-cell volume, consistent with experimental observations. We observe robust local-moment behavior and orbital-selective incoherence of the spectral properties of Mn2GaC, implying the importance of orbital-dependent localization of the Mn 3d states. We find that Mn2GaC can be described in terms of local magnetic moments, which may be modeled by DFT with disordered local moments. However, the magnetic properties are dictated by the proximity to the regime of formation of local magnetic moments, in which the localization is in fact driven by Hund's exchange interaction, and not the Coulomb interaction.

Sit-to-stand (STS) is considered the most common and functional activity in daily life and the basis for other activities. Healthy adults perform an average of 60 ± 20 STS transfer movements every day, while the elderly and patients with lower limb disorders could not complete the movements very well due to limb pain, muscle weakness, partial loss of motor control functions, and physical defects in joints. This paper presents a high-human-machine cooperation STS assistive device by studying law of motion of STS of the human body. Kinematic analysis of the assistive device was carried out, the relationship between the linear actuator and the position of each joint was established. According to the trajectory of human body obtained from the STS transfer experiment, the length variation of the linear actuator is obtained through the inverse kinematics. Finally, through Adams kinematics simulation, the trajectories of the mechanism were verified.

Hydraulic Performance of Water Inlet Device in Ship Scoop Cooling System

The scoop cooling system is widely used in advanced ships which usually requires a water inlet device protruding out of the board. The structure of the water inlet device not only determines the cooling water flow into the system, but also affects the additional resistance of the hull. The ratio of the static pressure difference between windward side of the device and the environment and the dynamic pressure head of the cooling water entering the flow channel is defined as the scoop lift head. The scoop lift head and additional resistance are used to describe the hydraulic performance of the water inlet device of the scoop cooling system, and a theoretical analysis method for the performance of the water inlet device of the scoop cooling system is proposed. The actual ship parameters are used to verify the scoop cooling capability and drag resistance characteristics of the water inlet device.

Integrated optimization on aerodynamics-structure coupling and flight stability of a large airplane in preliminary design

The preliminary phase is significant during the whole design process of a large airplane because of its enormous potential in enhancing the overall performance. However, classical sequential designs can hardly adapt to modern airplanes, due to their repeated iterations, long periods, and massive computational burdens. Multidisciplinary analysis and optimization demonstrates the capability to tackle such complex design issues. In this paper, an integrated optimization method for the preliminary design of a large airplane is proposed, accounting for aerodynamics, structure, and stability. Aeroelastic responses are computed by a rapid three-dimensional flight load analysis method combining the high-order panel method and the structural elasticity correction. The flow field is determined by the viscous/inviscid iteration method, and the cruise stability is evaluated by the linear small-disturbance theory. Parametric optimization is carried out using genetic algorithm to seek the minimal weight of a simplified plate-beam wing structure in the cruise trim condition subject to aeroelastic, aerodynamic, and stability constraints, and the optimal wing geometry shape, front/rear spar positions, and structural sizes are obtained simultaneously. To reduce the computational burden of the static aeroelasticity analysis in the optimization process, the Kriging method is employed to predict aerodynamic influence coefficient matrices of different aerodynamic shapes. The multidisciplinary analyses guarantee computational accuracy and efficiency, and the integrated optimization considers the coupling effect sufficiently between different disciplines to improve the overall performance, avoiding the limitations of sequential approaches utilized currently.

Recognizing symbols in architectural CAD drawings is critical for various advanced engineering applications. In this paper, we propose a novel CAD data annotation engine that leverages intrinsic attributes from systematically archived CAD drawings to automatically generate high-quality annotations, thus significantly reducing manual labeling efforts. Utilizing this engine, we construct ArchCAD-400K, a large-scale CAD dataset consisting of 413,062 chunks from 5538 highly standardized drawings, making it over 26 times larger than the largest existing CAD dataset. ArchCAD-400K boasts an extended drawing diversity and broader categories, offering line-grained annotations. Furthermore, we present a new baseline model for panoptic symbol spotting, termed Dual-Pathway Symbol Spotter (DPSS). It incorporates an adaptive fusion module to enhance primitive features with complementary image features, achieving state-of-the-art performance and enhanced robustness. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of DPSS, demonstrating the value of ArchCAD-400K and its potential to drive innovation in architectural design and construction. © 2025, CC BY.

In this study the structural and magnetic properties of Nd-doped BiFeO3 materials with the formula Bi1-xNdxFeO3 (x = 0–0.2) were investigated. Samples were prepared using the sol-gel method and annealed at 823 K for 4 hours. Microstructural studies indicated that nanomaterials with an average grain size of less than 100 nm were produced, with the smallest grain size observed for the solid solution with x = 0.15. Rietveld analysis of diffraction patterns revealed a composition-driven transformation from the rhombohedral (R3c) lattice to the orthorhombic (Pbam) structure. The above finding is correlated to Mössbauer spectroscopy data, which demonstrated the gradual destruction of the spin cycloid due to the structural transformation to the Pbam structure. The spectra were analyzed using a complex hyperfine magnetic field distribution model reflecting cycloidal spin ordering. Scanning differential calorimetry revealed that for the investigated materials the magnetic ordering temperatures are close to 640 K, independently from the Nd concentration. Magnetic measurements showed the emergence of weak ferromagnetic properties with increasing Nd ions concentration, consistently with Mössbauer spectroscopy data. © 2024, CC BY.

We present a portable impedance analyzer based on the AD5933 integrated circuit for fruit quality monitoring. The system, custom designed, allows a flexible tuning of parameters (i.e. excitation voltage, feedback resistor, settling time) in order to allow a precise system calibration over a frequency range from 10 Hz to 100 kHz. The employment of Low-Energy Bluetooth and USB communication, together with a micro SD data storage and a rechargeable battery, increases the system portability and its connectivity especially for precision and smart agriculture applications. The system (7.5×2×4cm in volume), runs MicroPython on an STM32 microcontroller and provides 300 mAh Li-Po battery storage with USB recharge. The developed system is validated by comparing it with a bench-top impedance analyzer, using two-terminal measurement, for the specific analysis of tomatoes and bananas, showing an average Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as low as 0.6% and 4.1%, for impedance magnitude and phase, respectively.
