Marine moving ship target search has great application demand and development prospects in marine surveillance, marine search and rescue, customs anti-smuggling, and other aspects. Satellites are a vital means of searching for marine moving targets. Ground coverage for imaging satellites is relatively limited;the vast marine area makes searching for marine moving ships challenging. Target position prediction, used as the guidance information for satellite detection to reduce the uncertainty of the target position and improve search efficiency, is an essential approach to achieving target optimization search. This paper proposes a target position prediction method based on joint learning of multi-source factors for optimal satellite search of marine moving targets. Firstly, it analyzes the characteristics of marine moving targets and the factors affecting motion. Then, it puts forward the motion prediction model based on a deep neural network, integrating multifactor, like the state of the moving target, environmental attributes such as nautical charts, meteorology and hydrology, and kinematic constraints, to predict the target positional distribution probability. Finally, the target search strategy based on the maximum sum of the distribution probabilities of the satellite coverage area is adopted to improve target detection probability. The experiment results show that the prediction method can realize the target positional distribution probability prediction, reduce the uncertainty search when making the satellite search plan, and improve efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

k_(eff)uncertainty quantification and analysis due to nuclear data during the full lifetime burnup calculation for a small-sized prismatic high temperature gas-cooled reactor

To benefit from recent advances in modeling and computational algorithms,as well as the availability of new covariance data,sensitivity and uncertainty analyses are needed to quantify the impact of uncertain sources on the design parameters of small prismatic high-temperature gascooled reactors(HTGRs).In particular,the contribution of nuclear data to the k_(eff)uncertainty is an important part of the uncertainty analysis of small-sized HTGR physical *** this study,a small-sized HTGR designed by China Nuclear Power Engineering Co.,*** selected for k_(eff)uncertainty analysis during full lifetime burnup *** of the cold zero power(CZP)condition and full lifetime burnup process were constructed using the reactor Monte Carlo Code RMC for neutron transport calculation,depletion calculation,and sensitivity and uncertainty *** the sensitivity analysis,the Contribution-Linked eigenvalue sensitivity/Uncertainty estimation via Track length importance Characterization(CLUTCH)method was applied to obtain sensitive information,and the "sandwich" method was used to quantify the k_(eff)*** also compared the k_(eff)uncertainties to other typical *** results show that ^(235)U is the largest contributor to k_(eff)uncertainty for both the CZP and depletion conditions,while the contribution of ^(239)Pu is not very significant because of the design of low discharge *** is worth noting that the radioactive capture reaction of ^(28)Si significantly contributes to the k_(eff)uncertainty owing to its specific fuel ***,the k_(eff)uncertainty during the full lifetime depletion process was relatively stable,only increasing by 1.12%owing to the low discharge burnup design of small-sized *** numerical results are beneficial for neutronics design and core parameters optimization in further uncertainty propagation and quantification study for small-sized HTGR.

The present study proposes a segmented cooling-stream injection structure based on a certain coolant mass flow rate,and numerically investigates the effect of segmented cooling-stream injection on supersonic film *** results indicate that without shock-wave impingement and with helium as the coolant,segmented cooling-stream injection can reduce the mixing between the mainstream and the cooling stream to produce better cooling performance than single injection,especially at larger coolant Mach ***,with nitrogen as the coolant,the cooling effect of the segmented-injection system is very close to that of the single-injection *** at the impinging region is enhanced significantly when there is an incident shock *** the shock wave impinges between the two coolant inlets,segmented cooling-stream injection improves film cooling effectiveness in the midstream and downstream regions more than single injection because only part of the cooling stream undergoes the enhanced mixing effect of the shock *** advantage of segmented injection is reduced when the impinging region is behind the second coolant *** further downstream the impinging region,the smaller the associated advantage.

The application of machine learning techniques in the field of optimal design of the front-end structure of an automobile body is facing a major challenge: the performance of traditional machine learning methods is largely limited by the number and quality of data samples. Due to the high complexity and expensive computational cost of body crash simulation models, the limitation of sample size may negatively affect the accuracy of machine learning models and the reliability of optimization results. To address this issue, a novel algorithm based on active-semi-supervised learning is proposed in this study. The unique feature of this algorithm is that it utilizes a modified TS-SSL semi-supervised learning method to generate virtual samples, thereby expanding the sample set and improving the prediction accuracy of the surrogate model. Besides, this algorithm applies an active learning strategy during the optimization process to locate the optimal design at a finer level of detail. The advantages of this algorithm are demonstrated in the optimal design of the front-end structure of an automobile body. Firstly, the algorithm significantly reduces the reliance on complex and time-consuming numerical simulation models, thus greatly improving the efficiency of the optimization process. Secondly, by using an active learning strategy, it can more accurately find a front-end structure design that meets the multi-objective optimization requirements. In a practical application, we performed a multi-objective optimization of the crash performance of the front-end structure of an automobile body. Through parametric modeling, a parametric model was automatically generated and the associated response results were derived. Compared to the base model, we found that the energy absorption ratio remained stable despite a 2% mass reduction of the front-end structure of an automobile body, while the peak acceleration was reduced by 6.5% and the maximum compression was reduced by 14.4%. Origami provides an opportunity to construct a wide range of 3D functional structures by folding a flat sheet. It can be used to develop various soft functional robots by combining soft smart actuators. However, a simple and an effective model that can address the challenging problem of designing origami patterns to connect origami design with robotics is lacking, thereby greatly increasing the threshold of soft origami robots and hindering its development. This study proposes an easy-to-use inverse origami design model to generate the flat crease pattern from the desired folded shape automatically while simulating origami morphing by simply providing the shape parameters or 2D shape graphics. This method overcomes the difficulty of origami design and enables a close connection between origami and robotics. Through this method, various soft origami robots can be developed with low design complexity and time cost to achieve different functions, thereby promoting the development of soft origami robots. © 2024 Mary Ann Liebert Inc.. The effect of FeCrAl sublayer composition on the microstructure, mechanical properties and lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) corrosion behavior of the FeCrAl/YSZ composite coatings were systematically investigated. The results show that the FeCrAl sublayer as a diffusion barrier and bonding layer is beneficial to improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the coatings. After corrosion, a slow-growing, continuous and protective Al-rich oxide is formed at the interface between the YSZ and FeCrAl sublayer, which can effectively hinder the inward diffusion of oxygen atoms and the outward diffusion of iron atoms. Especially, the Fe12Cr9Al/YSZ coating exhibits the best corrosion resistance even after corrosion at 700°C. The microscopic corrosion mechanism of FeCrAl/YSZ coating is elucidated. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

As an energy and carbon saving process for nitrogen removal from wastewater,the partial nitrification and denitrification process(PN/D)has been extensively ***,achieving stable PNinmunicipalwastewater has always been *** this study,a gel immobilized PN/D nitrogen removal process(GI-PN/D)was established.A 94 days pilot-scale experiment was conducted using real municipal wastewater with an ammonia concentration of 43.5±5.3mg N/L at a temperature range of 11.3–28.7◦*** nitrogen removal performance and associated pathways,shifts in the microbial community as well as sludge yield were *** results were as follows:the effluent TN and COD were 0.6±0.4mg/L and 31.1±3.8 mg/L respectively,and the NAR exceeding 95%.GI-PN/D achieved deep nitrogen removal ofmunicipalwastewater through stable PN without taking any *** primary pathways for nitrogen removal were identified as denitrification,simultaneous nitrification-denitrification,and aerobic ***-throughput sequencing analysis revealed that the immobilized fillers facilitated the autonomous enrichment of functional bacteria in each reactor,effectively promoting the dominance and stability of the microbial *** addition,GI-PN/D had the characteristic of low sludge yield,with an average sludge yield of 0.029 kg SS/kg *** study provides an effective technical for nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater through PN.

Magnetically encoded 3D mesostructure with high-order shape morphing and high-frequency actuation

A machine learning(ML)potential for Au clusters is developed through training on a dataset including several different sized *** ML potential accurately covers the whole configuration space of Au clusters in a broad size range,thus expressing a good performance in search of their global minimum energy *** on our potential,the low-lying structures of 17 different sized Au clusters are identified,which shows that small sized Au clusters tend to form planar structures while large ones are more likely to be stereo,revealing the critical size for the two-dimensional(2D)to three-dimensional(3D)structural *** calculations demonstrate that ML is indeed powerful in describing the interaction of Au atoms and provides a new paradigm on accelerating the search of structures.

In semiconductor manufacturing,PN junction is formed by introducing dopants to activate neighboring electron and hole *** avoid structural distortion and failure,it generally requires the foreign dopants localize in the designated ***,however,is challenging due to an inevitable interdiffusion *** we report a brand-new junction architecture,called"layer PN junction",that might break through such limit and help redefine the semiconductor device *** from all existing semiconductors,we find that a variety of van der Waals materials are doping themselves from n-to p-type conductance with an increasing/decreasing *** means the capability of constructing homogeneous PN junctions in monolayers'dimension/precision,with record high rectification-ratio(>10^(5))and low cut-off current(<1 pA).More importantly,it spawns intriguing functionalities,like gate-switchable-rectification and noise-signal decoupled *** disclosed here might open up a path to develop novel nanodevice applications,where the geometrical size becomes the only critical factor in tuning charge-carrier distribution and thus functionality.
