This paper introduces an adaptive peridynamics with a correspondence material model (A-PD-CMM) to effectively simulate the coupled creep-plastic behavior and the creep crack propagation in metal materials. In this method, to describe the coupled creep-plastic deformation with considering the creep damage, the multiaxial coupled constitutive model that integrates the Wen-Tu creep damage model and the J2 plastic model is developed. Moreover, a damage associate criterion is incorporated into the peridynamics framework to effectively capture the influence of damage on the force state. To detail the rapid damage evolution during the tertiary creep stage, a time-adaptive solving strategy is proposed. Additionally, the constitutive integration algorithm of the multiaxial coupled model is efficiently realized by decoupling it into two parts, that is, an implicit computation of creep-plasticity and an explicit evolution of creep damage. The efficacy and engineering applicability of the proposed A-PD-CMM are validated through several representative numerical examples, showcasing its potential in addressing complex material behavior. © 2024, The Authors. To facilitate the integration of autonomous mobile robots into environments shared with humans, ensuring the comfort of pedestrians and observers (individuals observing the interaction from a third-party perspective) is crucial. This study explores the correlation between pedestrian and observer comfort and the robot’s distance and pose angle during pedestrian encounters. The findings indicate that when a robot passes a pedestrian after completing its avoidance motion, it enhances the comfort of both pedestrians and observers. In addition, when a robot maintains a large distance from pedestrians while passing by, it improves pedestrian comfort. Furthermore, designing the robot’s pose during passing so that it appears to move away from the pedestrian from the observer’s perspective further increases the observer’s comfort.

MG6D: A Deep Fusion Approach for 6D Pose Estimation with Mamba and Graph Convolution Network

Accurate and efficient 6D pose estimation is a fundamental technology in many industrial applications. While existing dense correspondence methods have shown progress, they face challenges in multimodal feature fusion under complex scenarios involving occlusions, illumination variations, and sensor noise. This paper proposes a novel 6D pose estimation framework that addresses these limitations through a hybrid Mamba-Graph architecture. The algorithm first introduces a panoramic attention fusion Mamba module, leveraging state-space modeling to capture long-range dependencies in multi-modal data while establishing cross-dimensional interactions between channel and spatial features to emphasize critical information. A dynamic graph convolutional adaptive fusion module is then designed to enable cross-modal geometric consistency modeling via multi-modal feature integration. Finally, a texture-geometry co-driven keypoint selection mechanism is proposed to ensure keypoint distributions satisfy both spatial uniformity and discriminability requirements. Experimental results on three common datasets demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves ADD(-S) metrics of 99.82%, 80.26%, and 97.2%, respectively. Notably, it exhibits significant advantages in pose estimation for objects with repetitive textures and high symmetry. © 2013 IEEE.

StreamFP: Learnable Fingerprint-guided Data Selection for Efficient Stream Learning

Stream Learning (SL) requires models that can quickly adapt to continuously evolving data, posing significant challenges in both computational efficiency and learning accuracy. Effective data selection is critical in SL to ensure a balance between information retention and training efficiency. Traditional rule-based data selection methods struggle to accommodate the dynamic nature of streaming data, highlighting the necessity for innovative solutions that effectively address these challenges. Recent approaches to handling changing data distributions face challenges that limit their effectiveness in fast-paced environments. In response, we propose StreamFP, a novel approach that uniquely employs dynamic, learnable parameters called fingerprints to enhance data selection efficiency and adaptability in stream learning. StreamFP optimizes coreset selection through its unique fingerprint-guided mechanism for efficient training while ensuring robust buffer updates that adaptively respond to data dynamics, setting it apart from existing methods in stream learning. Experimental results demonstrate that StreamFP outperforms state-of-the-art methods by achieving accuracy improvements of 15.99%, 29.65%, and 51.24% compared to baseline models across varying data arrival rates, alongside a training throughput increase of 4.6x. © 2024, CC BY.

A coupled axisymmetric peridynamics with a stabilized correspondence material model (CA-PD-SCMM) is proposed in this work to effectively simulate the ablation and ductile fracture behaviors of metals under high temperatures. To quantify the damage resulting from compression and shearing deformations, a strain energy density decomposition method is incorporated into the ductile damage model. Furthermore, a novel axisymmetric stabilization method based on peridynamics linearization theory is introduced to mitigate numerical oscillations arising from zero-energy modes in both thermal and mechanical scenarios. To capture the varying geometries and update the boundary conditions during ablation, a moving boundary model is developed based on temperature-associated criteria. To validate the capacity of the proposed CA-PD-SCMM, several representative numerical experiments are conducted. These examples not only affirm its ability to stabilize numerical oscillations in coupled axisymmetric thermoplastic problems but also demonstrate its capability for accurately simulating ablation and predicting crack propagation. © 2024, The Authors. Image separation is the key to image processing, but in image separation, it is easily disturbed by abnormal signals, which reduces the separation accuracy, and causes key image loss and blurred separation edges. Based on this, this paper proposes a high-resolution wavelet chaos algorithm to perform high-frequency resolution of image separation information, enhance image signal, and shorten pixel distance. Grayscale value analysis is then performed on pixel gradients and neighborhoods. Finally, the standard wavelet algorithm separates the edge signals for search, and the final separation results are output. The results show that the high-resolution wavelet chaos algorithm can accurately separate images, the abnormal signal interference rate is less than 10%, and the separation accuracy is greater than 90%, which is better than the standard wavelet algorithm. Therefore, the high-resolution wavelet chaos algorithm can meet the requirements of image separation and is suitable for image processing. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Anticipating critical transitions in multidimensional systems driven by time- and state-dependent noise

Anticipating bifurcation-induced transitions in dynamical systems has gained relevance in various fields of the natural, social, and economic sciences. Before the annihilation of a system's equilibrium point by means of a bifurcation, the system's internal feedbacks that stabilize the initial state weaken and eventually vanish, a process referred to as critical slowing down (CSD). In one-dimensional systems, this motivates the use of variance and lag-1 autocorrelation as indicators of CSD. However, the applicability of variance is limited to time- and state-independent driving noise, strongly constraining the generality of this CSD indicator. In multidimensional systems, the use of these indicators is often preceded by a dimension reduction in order to obtain a one-dimensional time series. Many common techniques for such an extraction of a one-dimensional time series generally incur the risk of missing CSD in practice. Here, we propose a data-driven approach based on estimating a multidimensional Langevin equation to detect local stability changes and anticipate bifurcation-induced transitions in systems with generally time- and state-dependent noise. Our approach substantially generalizes the conditions under which CSD can reliably be detected, as demonstrated in a suite of examples. In contrast to existing approaches, changes in deterministic dynamics can be clearly discriminated from changes in the driving noise using our method. This substantially reduces the risk of false or missed alarms of conventional CSD indicators in settings with time-dependent or multiplicative noise. In multidimensional systems, our method can greatly advance the understanding of the coupling between system components and can avoid risks of missing CSD due to dimension reduction, which existing approaches suffer from.

The cubic silicon carbide (3C-SiC) has been considered as a candidate structural material for several types of advanced nuclear reactors. The effects of cascade collision on thermal conductivity in symmetrical tilt grain boundary (GB) were studied by Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The thermal conductivity of 3C-SiC at 5(210)[001] GB was calculated using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) methods. A relatively small simulation unit was used to analyze the effect of different energies of incident PKA (primary knock-on atoms) on the thermal conductivity of 3C-SiC and to compare the results with perfect structure GB system. Finally, the vibrational density of states (VDOS) of atoms in the GB region was calculated to analyze the phonon mismatch at the interface. Calculations show that cascade collisions generated by energetic atoms will result in a decrease in thermal conductivity of the 5(210) GB system, but the effect varies in different regions, with a sharp decrease in thermal conductivity and an increase in thermal resistance for the intracrystalline region, while the magnitude of change in either thermal resistance or thermal conductivity is not significant in the GB region. Irradiated model shows a higher GB energy compared to the unirradiated model. For all irradiated models, lattice defects have a significant effect on the thermal conductivity of the GB system, depending on the spatial structure of the *** results of the VDOS analysis suggest that an increase in the degree of atomic lattice mismatch near the interface is responsible for a further increase in the thermal resistance of the irradiated GB system. © 2022 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Magnetic liquid metal droplets(MLMDs)have been proven to be very important in many fields such as flexible electronics and soft ***,soft magnetic particles such as nickel(Ni)and iron(Fe)are mixed or suspended into the liquid metal to obtain soft MLMDs(S-LMDs),which can be easily manipulated under the magnetic field due to the favorable deformability and *** addition,hard magnetic particles such as neodymium iron boron(Nd Fe B)with a high residual magnetization can also be dispersed into the liquid metal and the hard MLMDs(H-LMDs)become more compact due to the interaction between internal particles induced by *** work reports a kind of H-LMDs with high surface tension,high flexibility and mechanical robustness,whose electrical conductivity and strength are better than the *** the magnetic field,the H-LMDs have a faster response time(0.58 s)and a larger actuating velocity(4.45 cm/s)than the ***,the H-LMDs show excellent magnetic controllability,good elasticity and favorable mobility,as demonstrated by magnetically actuated locomotion,bounce tests and rolling angle ***,the droplets can be further applied in wheeldriven motors and micro-valve switches,which demonstrates their high application potential in robotic manipulation and microfluidic devices.
