Surface modification is of critical interest to enhance boiling heat transfer in terms of heat transfer coefficient or critical heat flux (CHF), which is significantly affected by distinct surface morphology and wettability and it can improve the efficiency and safety of equipment. Furthermore, actual service environment may cause severe corrosion to the processed structured surfaces while its consequence on boiling heat transfer is still obscure. In this research, comprehensive researches are conducted to unravel corrosive effect on metallic samples made of stainless steel (SS) and Inconel materials with microstructures. Different constructions (i.e., microgroove, microcavity and micropillar array) and characteristic dimensions (~20, 50 μm) of microstructure, various duration time (up to 300 days) and pH values (~7.0 to 8.5) of corrosive environment are compared thoroughly. Conclusions can be drawn that not all microstructures can enhance pool boiling heat transfer characteristics, especially in terms of CHF values. More importantly, CHF value of SS microgroove sample firstly increases from 60.94 to 94.09 W·cm-2 in 50 days, then decreases to 47.77 W·cm-2 in 300 days, which can be attributed to competition result between formation of hierarchical micro/nano structure with enhancing wicking capability and chemistry condition with increasing contact angle. In addition, distinct bubble dynamics during pool boiling is also analyzed. The insights obtained from this article can be used to guide surface modification method and to reveal evolvement rule of engineered metallic surface in highly corrosive and harsh boiling heating transfer environment. © 2023, The Authors. Enhancing User Experience on Social Media Platforms: A Flow Theory-Based Approach

In recent years, social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have seen rapid growth and are favored by users of all ages. However, in the age of information overload, the quality of interactions on social media platforms varies significantly, leading to negative feelings among users and affecting their overall experience and loyalty. This study takes the Flow theory as its starting point and investigates the needs of social media users at various stages of the flow experience. We propose modifications to the flow theory model with the aim of enhancing user experience and satisfaction. Firstly, based on literature review, we identify micro-level issues of the product, propose hypotheses, and construct validation experiments in the context of social media. The experiment collects Electrodermal Activity (EDA) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) data of 31 participants using a multi-channel physiological instrument and collects their emotional experience data using the Pleasure-Arousal-Dominance (PAD) scale. Results indicate that a combined textual-graphical interface layout is superior to other layouts in positively inducing flow and emotional experiences. Positive content tonality is more effective at eliciting positive flow and emotional experiences than negative or neutral content. Video presentations have a stronger sense of immersion and emotional expression, making them more conducive to inducing flow experiences and positive emotional feedback. This study, grounded in user psychology, provides a theoretical framework based on flow and emotional experiences for social media product design, quantitatively examining the positive psychological activities of users when using social media. Additionally, the discussion and improvement strategy for the flow theory model of social media products we proposed offer practical guidance for professionals in related fields, presenting prospects for enhancing product competitiveness and increasing user stickiness. © 2023,

This paper explores the role of advanced sensor technologies and microactuators in revolutionizing urban transportation systems, a crucial aspect of modern urbanization. Our research examines how these technologies enhance the economy, facilitate nature transformation, and improve living standards by addressing critical urban challenges such as traffic congestion, safety, pollution, and efficiency. The paper delineates the specific areas, challenges, tasks, and potential solutions in implementing an integrated sensor network for comprehensive transport management. Key contributions of this paper include (i) an overview of the urban total transport system and its evolution into an intelligent management system, leveraging a hierarchical approach to vehicle and transport classification;(ii) an analysis of competitive sensing technologies that can be incorporated as elements of the Internet of Things (IoT) for effective system monitoring and management. Our methodology involves identifying the requirements for positioning and sensing in urban transport, defining the pertinent challenges and tasks, and systematically evaluating potential technological solutions. The findings are instrumental in developing smart cities, particularly in enhancing smart transport operation centers. Wrapped wire is widely used in new reactor core design. Simulation with traditional body fitted grid needs a large number of grids, which requires more computing resources. By optimizing the basic mathematical model of momentum source method, simulation of wire wrapped rod bundle with arbitrary wire shape can be carried out. By simulating the experimental data of 3 wire wrapped rod bundle, the model adaptability of momentum source method and mesh sensitivity analysis are carried out. Then optimized momentum source method and original momentum source method are compared based on simulation of supercritical carbon dioxide flow and heat transfer in wire wrapped rod bundle with different wire shapes. Through comparison with body fitted grid, the improvement of accuracy of optimized momentum source model can be proved. In conclusion, optimized momentum source method can greatly save the computational resources and calculated results is more accurate than original momentum source method. © 2023, The Authors. This article studies the resilient leader-follower tracking problem for the frequency control of distributed energy sources(DESs), and focuses on scenarios with a high density of misbehaving agents. To tackle the problem, we propose a fully distributed resilient consensus protocol, which utilizes confidence weights to evaluate the level of trust among agents with a first-order filter and a softmax-type function. The protocol theoretically ensures that the system is uniformly ultimately bounded, even in the presence of high-density mis-behaving agents (that is, for each follower, it can have more misbehaving neighbors compared to normal neighbors). We also demonstrate the fast practical convergence of the proposed protocol with a simulation for a frequency control problem of DESs. Our study is a significant step towards enhancing the reliability and stability of modern power systems.

Urban air is frequently contaminated with CO, CO2, VOC, HCHO, PM 2.5, and PM 10. Rural regions are at a lower risk than those near roads and industrial areas that produce emissions. Air pollutants negatively affect its inhabitants' health, particularly the respiratory system. Most people will spend more time indoors, requiring a method for monitoring indoor air quality (IAQ). Urban communities need IAQ monitoring instruments as an early warning system for their health. This research seeks to produce inexpensive IAQ that can be utilized by all levels of society, particularly urban communities. This research utilizes a qualitative, design-thinking-based methodology. The research diverged from Empatize, which asserts that urban communities require a method for determining the local air quality. Moreover, it is determined at the define stage that IAQ monitoring, which includes a data log feature, is still comparatively expensive, so a solution is developed at the ideate stage. Creating a prototype is the next step in realizing the specified solution. In this investigation, they decided to use IAQ monitoring, which is relatively inexpensive but lacks log data storage. The author uses the ESP32-cam microcontroller to capture the screen display device, and the resulting image is sent to a telegram and processed with optical character recognition (OCR) to generate a data log. The results of prototype testing are utilized for prototype development. © 2023 IEEE.

To improve energy storage performance of the multi-ring RCP flywheel comprised of inner hub, tungsten alloy ring and outer retainer, optimization design process for the radial thicknesses of components and interference fit assembly is demonstrated. Radial thicknesses of these components and magnitude of interference fit are set as design parameters to construct parametric analysis model. design of experiments (DOE) technique is adopted to generate design matrix for sensitive analysis. Subsequently, radial basis function (RBF) approximation is employed to search for the optimal design considering structural integrity requirement. Finally, a proper range of the magnitude of interference fit is obtained which can not only prevent neither slippage nor separation between the inner hub and tungsten alloy ring but also ensure the safety of structural strength. In addition, it is found that to ensure a high moment of inertia and energy density, a reasonable large radial thickness of tungsten alloy ring and a reasonable small radial thickness of outer retainer are required. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Wavelet transforms offer multi-resolution analysis capabilities, enabling the extraction of both local and global features from the surface roughness data. This research article presents a comparative evaluation of wavelet transform methods for surface roughness evaluation in the turning of Monel 400 alloy. The purpose of the study was to identify the most precise technique among the various wavelet transform methods. Surface roughness data were collected and analyzed using these methods, and their respective accuracy rates were determined. The stationary wavelet transform (SWT) had the highest accuracy rate of 89.6667%, far higher than the other approaches. TDyWT had an accuracy rate of 83.9733%, 6.4% higher than SWT. EWT accuracy was 88.5389%, 1.3% higher than SWT. The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) had an accuracy rate of 88.444%, 1.2% lower than the SWT. Multi-resolution analysis and noise filtering capabilities of stationary wavelet transform allow for a more thorough examination of surface roughness characteristics. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The spreading and evaporation of sodium droplets is one of the fundamental phenomena in high-temperature heat pipes. The LBM sodium two-phase flow and phase transition model, which can simulate a huge liquid-vapor density ratio, is first established and validated. Then, the spreading and evaporation processes of sodium droplets on solid walls with different wettability are numerically simulated and analyzed. The main conclusions obtained are as follows: (1) The dimensionless spreading diameter and time of the droplet spreading process conforms to Tanner's power law, and the power exponent has exponential relationship with the equilibrium wetting angle;(2) The maximum dimensionless spreading diameter is negatively and linearly correlated with the equilibrium wetting angle;(3) Evaporation of sodium droplets under constant heat flow conditions shows a mixed pattern. The droplets will be detached from the droplet wall at the late stage of evaporation, and the larger the equilibrium wetting angle the sooner the droplets detach. © 2024, The Authors. Multi-chips parallel IGBT module is widely used in new energy power grid connection, flexible AC and DC transmission, electric vehicles and charging devices, rail transit electric traction and other fields, and the reliability of their operation is very important. Therefore, how to select the characteristic parameters that can characterize the aging state of multi-chips parallel IGBT device is particularly important for system active operation and maintenance and reliability improvement. This paper takes the widely used multi-chips parallel IGBT module as the research object. According to the failure mode of bond wire lift-off, the degradation law of electrothermal and magnetic characteristic parameters in the aging failure process of the multi-chips parallel IGBT module was studied, and finally the magnetic flux density was selected as the aging state monitoring parameter of the multi-chips parallel IGBT module.
