The control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) is a kind of servo mechanism for the reactor control system of the nuclear power plant. This paper presents a cylindrical linear induction motor suitable for the CRDM. First, the structure of the CRDM is introduced. Second, the relationship between the main dimensions and the electromagnetic load is derived. Third, the influence of materials of the mover shielding shell, speed, and electromagnetic parameters on the lifting force is analyzed by the finite-element method (FEM). Meanwhile, the steady-state temperature of each component of the CRDM is obtained. Finally, a scaled-down prototype is manufactured to verify the rationality of the design. The test results show that the FEM results are consistent with the experimental results, and the essential functions such as lifting, lower insertion, and maintenance can be realized.

The Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) is a critical component of power electronic equipment, and its health is of utmost importance to ensure the reliability and stability of the entire system. This paper proposes a method for assessing the health status of IGBT device under various operating conditions. Firstly, a finite element model of the IGBT device is established to analyze the influence of solder layer void and bond line detachment on the saturation voltage of the device. Secondly, the device parameters are simulated under different working conditions, and an adaptive neural network algorithm is used to establish the IGBT equipment health state evaluation model. Finally, the results of the model are analyzed, and the prediction results under random conditions are compared with the simulation results. The results show that this method effectively evaluates the health status of IGBT devices.

The control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) is a critical device in nuclear plants. This paper proposes a kind of CRDM applying the cylindrical linear induction motor (CLIM). First, the structure and the working principle are introduced. Second, the finite-element method (FEM) is applied to analyze the electromagnetic characteristics of CRDM. The lifting force variation curves with different electromagnetic and structural parameters are obtained. Third, the thermal analysis is carried out by FEM. The steady-state thermal distribution and temperature of each component of CRDM are obtained. All the above results show that the proposed CRDM can meet the design criteria and such functions as rising, falling, and holding still.

Utilizing AI technology to ensure the safe operation of factories is a crucial aspect of smart factories. In particular, research focused on fault diagnosis and remaining useful life (RUL) prediction models based on machine learning has garnered significant attention from both academia and industry. This paper explores RUL prediction models for complex equipment, introduces four representative models, and analyzes their performance using two benchmark datasets, C-MAPSS and N-CMAPSS. Finally, the paper discusses the future research and application trends of artificial intelligence technology in complex equipment operation and maintenance.

The failure rate of aluminum electrolytic capacitor (AEC) is high in power electronic systems. Due to the complex structure of AEC, it is difficult to establish an actual model, so experiments are the common way to analyze the failure of AEC. Thus, this paper proposes a finite element method (FEM) for AEC considering electrolytic failure. Firstly, the mechanism of electrolytic failure and changes of characteristic parameters in the AEC are elucidated. Secondly, an equivalent finite element model is established to simulate and analyze the electrolytic failure of AEC. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed AEC FEM method is verified through capacitor aging experiments.

The magnetic jack type control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) is a critical electromagnetic actuator utilized in reactors, with its movable components subject to the combined effects of electromagnetic force, liquid resistance, spring force, and other factors, resulting in highly nonlinear and uncertain motion characteristics. This article establishes a novel model for the dynamic process analysis of the CRDM. The dynamic electromagnetic force and inductance of the CRDM are analyzed based on the equivalent magnetic network (EMN) model, taking into account mesh reconstruction and magnetic saturation. Through kinematic analysis and parameter coupling analysis, electromagnetic and kinematic parameters during the CRDM lifting process are obtained. Finally, finite element analysis (FEA) and experimentation are conducted to validate the accuracy of the proposed model.
