In this paper, we focus on network structure inference problem for linear-quadratic (LQ) games from best-response dynamics. An adversary is considered to have no knowledge of the game network structure but have the ability to observe all players’ best-response actions and manipulate some players’ actions. This work presents a comprehensive framework for network learning from best-response dynamics in LQ games. First of all, we establish theoretic results that characterize network structure identifiability and provide numerical examples to demonstrate the usefulness of our theoretic results. Next, in the face of the inherent stability and sparsity constraints for the game network structure, we propose an information-theoretic stable and sparse system identification algorithm for learning the network structure. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed learning algorithm is tested. The connection between network structure inference problem and classical system identification theory is covered by our work, which advances the literature.

Waves seriously impact port construction, worldwide route planning, military activities, and wave power generation. To improve the accuracy of significant wave height prediction, we proposed a novel prediction method, a multi-layer perceptron combined with a backpropagation adjustment (MLP-BP) prediction model that combines mutation mode decomposition (VMD) and a simulated annealing optimization algorithm (SA). Firstly, we use the variable modulus method to decompose the significant wave height sequence data and transform the wave height sequence into multiple different sub-modes (IMF) to reduce the complexity and non-stationarity of the data. Secondly, the simulated annealing algorithm (SA) is used to optimize the weight and bias of the MLP-BP neural network to find the optimal parameter configuration and improve the performance and generalization ability of the prediction model. Finally, the decomposed sub-modal components of each significant wave height sequence are inserted into the MLP-BP neural network and the predicted values of each element are summed to obtain the final significant wave height prediction. The prediction results of the SSA-MLP-BP, PSO-MLP-BP, SA-MLP-BP, and VMD-SA-MLP-BP were compared and demonstrated that the VMD-SA-MLP-BP model performed best. The MAE, MAPE, MSE, RMSE, and R2 of the prediction evaluation indexes were 0.036 m, 11.7%, 0.004 m 2 , 0.067 m, and 0.983, respectively, which performed well in predicting significant wave height.

In this paper, an event-triggered adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) algorithm is developed for the temperature control of large-scale heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. First, the dynamic model of the system is established by using the conservation of mass and energy, which involves the dynamics of the fan and the cooling coil. Second, the multi-zone temperature control problem is treated as a non-zero-sum game, which requires solving the coupled Hamilton-Jacobian (HJ) equations. Then, the ADP algorithm is employed to solve the HJ equation. Importantly, in order to reduce the network transmission burden of large-scale HVAC systems, the ADP algorithm developed in this paper is based on event-triggering mechanism. Theoretical analysis proves that the tracking error and the neural network weight estimation error are uniformly ultimately bounded. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Owing to the unique technological merits of additive manufacturing (AM), design for AM, particularly eco-design for AM, has been gaining attention in improving the sustainable performance of AM-fabricated (AMed) parts. The main challenge in harvesting potential sustainability benefits is how to capture the impact of design on sustainable performance. Though several existing studies adopted quantitative evaluation on AM sustainability and investigated the relationships between design information and sustainability information of AMed part, the sustainability information is still unavailable in the design phase. This hardly guides eco-design for AM in practice. To support the increasing industrial applications of AM, this paper illustrates related knowledge, that is, material-process-structure-ecoProperty (MPSeP) relationships to connect design and sustainability information in eco-design for AM. An ontology-based method is proposed to model the MPSeP relationships of the AMed part in a structured way. An example of an AMed hydraulic valve body was used to demonstrate the MPSeP modeling process. It is discussed that how the constructed model effectively assists AM designers through providing eco-design recommendation, and enables design software tools to perform sustainability analysis towards eco-design for AM.
