CHF plays an important role in the heat transfer process during the external reactor vessel cooling (IVR-ERVC) which is deemed as a very effective way to release the decay heat after the core melted. In this paper, the experiment of the macro-fin structure experiment positioned on slope that is declined at angles of 5°and 10°was done. The results of the copper bar experiment were then analyzed and compared with the results obtained from a copper block experiment that had been conducted previously at the same test facility, and it was found that the CHF decreased. Finally, the hot/dry spot theory for the copper bar was brought up in an attempt to explain the difference of copper and copper bar. It seemed that using this theory can explain the decrease of CHF for copper bar. Copyright © 2018-2019 by JSME

In this paper, we present a signaling design for secure integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems comprising a dual-functional multi-input multi-output (MIMO) base station (BS) that simultaneously communicates with multiple users while detecting targets present in their vicinity, which are regarded as potential eavesdroppers. In particular, assuming that the distribution of each parameter to be estimated is known a priori, we focus on optimizing the targets’ sensing performance. To this end, we derive and minimize the Bayesian Cramér-Rao bound (BCRB), while ensuring certain communication quality of service (QoS) by exploiting constructive interference (CI). The latter scheme enforces that the received signals at the eavesdropping targets fall into the destructive region of the signal constellation, to deteriorate their decoding probability, thus enhancing the ISAC’s system physical-layer security (PLS) capability. To tackle the nonconvexity of the formulated problem, a tailored successive convex approximation method is proposed for its efficient solution. Our extensive numerical results verify the effectiveness of the proposed secure ISAC design showing that the proposed algorithm outperforms block-level precoding techniques. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

The rapid development of big data and artificial intelligence technology is inseparable from the acquisition of massive basic data, and the data is acquired by sensors. The Raman Distributed optical fiber Temperature Sensor (RDTS) is a kind of sensor with many advantages, such as: anti-electromagnetic interference, intrinsic safety, small size, water and high temperature resistance. It has been applied in many fields for fast and continuous temperaturemeasurement. However, due to the rapid attenuation of transmitted light and the temperature error in radiated environment, it has not been applied innuclear field. Therefore, in order to improve the temperature accuracy of RDTS in radiated environment and provide basic data for advanced control. This paper studies the radiation effect on RDTS. Analyzesthe radiation damage mechanism and radiation damage influencing factors of RDTS. Proposes measures to improve the anti-radiation performance and provides four useful calibration methodsfortemperature error. Among them, two calibration methods have been proved right by experiments.

In this paper, a Mechanical Shim (MSHIM) control system simulation platform for the AP1000 reactor which was said as a Generation III+ pressurized water reactor was developed. Based on this platform, simulation studies for three MSHIM control strategies were performed. It has been demonstrated by the analysis results that the improved MSHIM control strategy purposed in this paper not only can provide much tighter axial offset (AO) control but also can reduce the control rod movement, indicating its superiority than the original MSHIM control strategy. The technology of detecting and identifying multitarget is of significance for robotic visual navigation within the unknown, unstructured, complex scenes, whose result could be considered as important references of 3D map building and path planning for mobile robot. Traditional algorithms of target detection can be applied to 2D images without depth information generally, which is disturbed by few factors such as illumination, view and scale easily. Therefore, an approach on visual detecting multi-target of unstructured and complex scenes based on RGBD images is proposed in this article to solve the above problem, which is composed of extracting descriptor of rotation and scale invariance feature, local encoding of targets, random ferns classifier training, Hough map generation, Hough voting theoretical model and local maximum search. Experimental results have shown that the proposed approach reduce the calculation of extracting and matching local feature, improve the accuracy of object recognition and detection in unknown complex environments, be capable of well robust against few disturbing factors i.e. rotation, scale, illumination, occlusion and non-rigid body deformation. © 2020 IEEE.

In advanced pressurized water reactors, the corrugated plate dryer (CPD) is essential for ensuring the safety and efficiency of nuclear power plants by influencing steam quality in the separation system of steam generators. While previous research has focused on cold-condition experiments, this study addresses the complexities of hot operational conditions, which are more representative of real-world scenarios. By investigating the effects of CPD structural parameters on separation performance, the research establishes an experimental platform that reveals a critical plate spacing where the CPD’s critical velocity (CV) peaks. Additionally, the study explores the internal gas flow dynamics, demonstrating that increased recirculation along the plate walls significantly impacts flow velocity. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of CPD performance under realistic conditions, enhancing the reliability and efficiency of nuclear power generation.

Global Dynamics and Optimal design of a New Highly Efficient Nonlinear Energy Sink Based on Magnetic-Elastic Impacts with Negative Stiffness

A new highly efficient elastic-impact bistable nonlinear energy sink (EI-BNES) based on magnetic-elastic impacts with negative stiffness and bistability is proposed and optimized through global dynamical analysis. The EI-BNES has better robustness and higher energy dissipation rates with nearly more than 96.5% for broadband impulsive excitations than the traditional cubic NESs and single bistable NESs. The structure of negative stiffness impacts is realized by reasonable layout of permanent ring magnets and springs. A two-degree-of-freedom (two-DOF) elastic-impact system is established to describe the coupled nonlinear interaction between the main structure and the attached EI-BNES. A global Melnikov reduction analysis (GMRA) is proposed to study global dynamics and homoclinic bifurcations of the reduced two-dimensional subsystem, which is used to explain the mechanism of nonlinear targeted energy transfer (TET) and detect the threshold of impulsive amplitudes of EI-BNES for in-well and compound motions between in-well and cross-well resonance responses. A special type of saddle-center equilibrium points is also found in the non-smooth system of the EI-BNES and can be used to effectively increase the energy dissipation rates. The optimal design criterion of the tuned EI-BNES for better dissipation performance is also first discussed based on the GMRA and numerical techniques for calculating the Melnikov function of the non-smooth systems. WC-Co alloys have enjoyed great practical significance owing to their excellent properties during the past *** the advantages,however,recently there have been concerns about the challenges associated with the use of Co,*** instability,toxicity and properties degeneration,which necessitates the fabrication of binderless tungsten carbide(BTC).On the other hand,BTC or BTC composites,none of them,to date has been commercialized and produced on an industrial scale,but only used to a limited extent for specialized applications,such as mechanical seals undergoing high burthen as well as high temperature electrical *** are two challenges in developing BTC:fully densifying the sintered body together with achieving a high ***,this review applies towards comprehensively summarize the current knowledge of sintering behavior,microstructure,and mechanical properties of BTC,highlighting the densification improving strategies as well as toughening methods,so as to provide reference for those who would like to enhance the performance of BTC with better reliability advancing them to further wide applications and prepare the material in a way that is environment friendly,harmless to human health and low in production *** paper shows that the fabrication of highly dense and high-performance BTC is economically and technically *** properties of BTC can be tailored by judiciously selecting the chemical composition coupled with taking into careful account the effects of processing techniques and parameters.

Surrogate representation of sink strengths and the long-term role of crystalline interfaces in the development of irradiation-induced bubbles

The present article addresses an early-stage attempt on replacing the analyticity-based sink strength terms in rate equations by surrogate models of machine learning representation. Here we emphasise, in the context of multiscale modelling, a combinative use of machine learning with scale analysis, through which a set of fine-resolution problems of partial differential equations describing the (quasi-steady) short-range individual sink behaviour can be asymptotically sorted out from the mean-field kinetics. Hence the training of machine learning is restrictively oriented, that is, to express the local and already identified, but analytically unavailable nonlinear functional relationships between the sink strengths and other local continuum field quantities. With the trained models, one is enabled to quantitatively investigate the biased effect shown by a void/bubble being a point defect sink, and the results are compared with existing ones over well-studied scenarios. Moreover, the faster diffusive mechanisms on crystalline interfaces are distinguishingly modelled by locally planar rate equations, and their linkages with rate equations for bulk diffusion are formulated through derivative jumps of point defect concentrations across the interfaces. Thus the distinctive role of crystalline interfaces as partial sinks and quick diffusive channels can be investigated. Methodologicalwise, the present treatment is also applicable for studying more complicated situation of long-term sink behaviour observed in irradiated materials. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Hafnia-based oxide thin films exhibit unconventional robust ferroelectricity at the nanoscale, paving the way for advancements in next-generation nanoelectronics. However, the stability and dynamics of ferroelectric polarization in hafnia-based oxides films, particularly at the nanoscale, warrant further exploration. In this study, we delve into the factors influencing the formation of the ferroelectric phase. Our findings illuminate that the confinement effect of the capped layer enhances the stabilization of the metastable orthorhombic phase, thereby bolstering its ferroelectricity and endurance. Furthermore, we identify an unprecedented polarization-switching behavior in HfO2-based ferroelectric films, characterized by a decrease in the remanent polarization and an increase in the coercive field as the temperature drops. This peculiar phenomenon can be ascribed to the reduction in the long-range interaction of polarization dipoles upon cooling, as evidenced by the dielectric spectrum. The diminished long-range interaction results in the emergence of nanodomains and a re-entrant relaxer behavior, offering novel insights into the origin of ferroelectricity and the stability of ferroelectric polarization in hafnia-based thin films. Given the commendable compatibility of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 films with Si substrates and a pyroelectric coefficient of -62.1 μC/m2·K, they emerge as a prime candidate for sensor device applications. © 2023, The Authors.
