This paper aims to answer a fundamental question in the area of Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC): What is the optimal communication-centric ISAC waveform for ranging? Towards that end, we first established a generic framework to analyze the sensing performance of communication-centric ISAC waveforms built upon orthonormal signaling bases and random data symbols. Then, we evaluated their ranging performance by adopting both the periodic and aperiodic autocorrelation functions (P-ACF and A-ACF), and defined the expectation of the integrated sidelobe level (EISL) as a sensing performance metric. On top of that, we proved that among all communication waveforms with cyclic prefix (CP), the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is the only globally optimal waveform that achieves the lowest ranging sidelobe for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and phase shift keying (PSK) constellations, in terms of both the EISL and the sidelobe level at each individual lag of the P-ACF. As a step forward, we proved that among all communication waveforms without CP, OFDM is a locally optimal waveform for QAM/PSK in the sense that it achieves a local minimum of the EISL of the A-ACF. Finally, we demonstrated by numerical results that under QAM/PSK constellations, there is no other orthogonal communication-centric waveform that achieves a lower ranging sidelobe level than that of the OFDM, in terms of both P-ACF and A-ACF cases. The integrated charging system of Electric vehicle consists of a single-phase PWM rectifier and a Buck converter. When the single-phase PWM rectifier works with unit power factor, the dc-link voltage contains a large voltage harmonic of twice the grid frequency. Although the output voltage ripple can be controlled within the required range using the proper control of the Buck converter, the second-order harmonic on the dc-link capacitor is inevitable. This paper proposes a de-side decoupling method for the second-order harmonic problem of the dc-link voltage of the integrated charging system. A de-side decoupling half bridge is connected in parallel to absorb the ripple power of twice the grid frequency. This paper analyzes the operating principle of the de-side decoupling half bridge. Based on a theoretical analysis of the topology and the design procedure for controlling system, the proposed converter is designed and simulated. Finally, simulation results are given to verify the method.

Based on the analysis of energy structure and the development trends of advanced nuclear energy technology, combining the complementary advantages of nuclear energy and other energy sources in China, the Fluoride-salt-cooled High-temperature reactor(FuSTAR) system has been proposed. FuSTAR system is designed to address production capacity issues in areas with energy shortages or resource concentration and can be combined with high-temperature process heat to achieve high-value-added processes such as hydrogen production. In this paper, the Tri-structural isotropic fuel combined with helical cruciform elements has been studied in detail on the neutron physics and thermal-hydraulic properties, and the flow and heat transfer experiment is carried out for the first time. The multilayer nonlinear programming method has been applied to the design of thermal transport systems. Then the optimal parameters and configuration of the thermoelectric conversion system are obtained by the superstructure optimization method. The inherent safety of FuSTAR is demonstrated through deterministic safety analysis. In addition, the iodine-sulfur cycle technology and the characteristics of tritium production are also analyzed. This study highlights the significant potential of integrating nuclear energy with other energy sources in an optimized energy-production system. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Helically coiled heat exchangers have been widely applied in many power conversion systems for their advantages, such as compactness and high efficiency in heat transfer. Reliable heat transfer models are required to analyze the thermal hydraulic characteristics of the once-through helically coiled tube steam generator. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the applicability of the existing heat transfer models. This paper review the experiments for heat transfer in helically coiled tubes in the case of two-phase flow, and summarize and screening corresponding experimental data and correlation. Then, this article compared these correlations to the existing available experimental data to evaluate the applicability of these correlations. Most of the correlations for two phase heat transfer were also valid within the parameter range of pressure, mass flux and heat flux. Results indicate that the currently existing correlation could not accurately match the experiment date. And the Steiner-Taborek correlation was recommended even though the 70% experiment date within the 20% deviation of predicted. Therefore the steam-water two phase flow need to further study to conclude a more suitable correlation in the further. Copyright © 2018-2019 by JSME

The calculation of the stress intensity factor (SIF) on the axial cracking of the cladding tube is the basis for the study of the failure phenomena of delayed hydride cracking (DHC) and hydrogen embrittlement (HE). In most hydrogen failure models, especially the DHC model, an infinite or semi-infinite plate is used as the modeling basis. There is no doubt that cylindrical shell as a modeling object will make the calculation more accurate for nuclear fuel cladding. This work analyzes the influence of geometric conditions and the external load conditions on SIF of tubular components, respectively, based on virtual crack closure technique (VCCT), using single variable. Then the influence of crack length on SIF is analyzed under concentrated stress loading on the end of Zr-4 cladding tube by numerical analysis method. The approximate calculation formula of the stress intensity factor on the crack front is obtained and verified. Flexible strain sensors have attracted much attention due to their excellent stretchability, conformability and ability to measure large deformations. These sensors have found a wide range of applications, including health tracking, human-machine interaction, and human motion monitoring. However, current mass-production methods do not support the small-batch customization of flexible strain sensors, and the additional mounting step reduces the structural integrity. This paper presents a widely accessible approach for the rapid fabrication of flexible strain sensors that are directly printed onto objects in an on-demand and reliable manner by exploring the multimaterial fused deposition modeling techniques and optimizing the composition of functional filaments. Furthermore, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are demonstrated in the development of customized, flexible strain sensors that have complex sensing patterns and geometries.

Generative AI (GAI) can enhance the cognitive, reasoning, and planning capabilities of intelligent modules in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) by synthesizing augmented datasets, completing sensor data, and making sequential decisions. In addition, the mixture of experts (MoE) can enable the distributed and collaborative execution of AI models without performance degradation between connected vehicles. In this survey, we explore the integration of MoE and GAI to enable Artificial General Intelligence in IoV, which can enable the realization of full autonomy for IoV with minimal human supervision and applicability in a wide range of mobility scenarios, including environment monitoring, traffic management, and autonomous driving. In particular, we present the fundamentals of GAI, MoE, and their interplay applications in IoV. Furthermore, we discuss the potential integration of MoE and GAI in IoV, including distributed perception and monitoring, collaborative decision-making and planning, and generative modeling and simulation. Finally, we present several potential research directions for facilitating the integration. © 2024, CC BY.

In the severe high-temperature environment caused by aerodynamic heating,the vibrational excitation,dissociation and ionization of gas may successively occur,which are known as real gas *** the real gas effects,the thermodynamic properties of gas vary drastically and significantly influence the performances of the active thermal protection system of hypersonic vehicles,especially in the case with coolant outflow,for example transpiration *** paper numerically investigates the transpiration cooling performance with the consideration of the interaction between coolant outflow and hypersonic flow under the real gas *** mathematical models and coupled numerical strategy are firstly validated by experimental data,then the influences of real gas effects on the transpiration cooling of a wedged leading edge(WLE) are studied under a flight Mach number range from 8 to 12 and a flight height of 40 *** analysis and discussions of the numerical results reveal some important phenomena and demonstrate the need to consider real gas effects.
