Cylindrical linear motors have broad application prospects in the fields of rail transportation, precision medicine, and vertical lifting. At the same time, these occasions require the motor to run smoothly with low noise. Therefore, it is of key significance to analyze the vibration characteristics of the motor, the stator of the new type cylindrical linear motor is composed of multi-layer cylindrical shells, and its vibration characteristics can be obtained by equivalent simplification processing of thin-walled cylindrical shells. This paper constructs the corresponding analysis model for calculation the natural frequency of a thin-walled cylindrical shells. Based on the analytical model, influence of important parameter such as length, wall thickness, and mid-plane diameter of cylindrical linear motor on its vibration characteristics is studied. The relevant analysis and calculation methods and conclusions are verified by finite element simulation, which can provide reference for subsequent design of cylindrical linear motors. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

power converters based on power semiconductor switches (e.g. IGBTs) are widely used in power grids, ships, unmanned vehicles, etc. Open-circuit faults of the switches, which are featured with concealment, must be diagnosed in time to prevent serious losses. In this paper, a step-GA-BP algorithm for the open-circuit fault diagnosis is proposed, and then validated using a typical three-phase two-level inverter. A Simulink model of the inverter is built, by which the output phase voltages are simulated and collected as signal samples to train a neural network diagnosis model. The conventional BP neural network is combined with the genetic algorithm (*** step-GA-BP algorithm) to optimize the training process. The proposed algorithm achieves high diagnosis accuracy and shows advantages over the compared algorithms, in addition, the effects of duration and number of the signal samples are analyzed. © 2020 IEEE.

In order to realize the uninterruptible power supply in the master-slave independent micro-grid system, the micro-grid inverter needs to realize the mode switching of the grid-connection/grid-disconnection. How to reduce the transient oscillation during switching, so as to effectively achieve seamless mode switching is a key issue to be solved. In this paper, a typical master-slave control independent micro-grid is used as an example, the strategy of mode switching is improved in two aspects. On the one hand, the state-following algorithm is adopted to improve the switching strategy of the outer loop. On the other hand, the current inner loop is taken by the H∞ robust controller to improve the robustness of the controller. Compared with the traditional PI control mode switching, this paper illustrates the feasibility of the proposed strategy through the simulation and experiment verification. The improvement strategy in this paper can effectively reduce the voltage and current oscillation during mode switching. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2018.

In integrated energy systems, load forecasting has become increasingly significant on the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. This study aims to apply a probabilistic learning method, i.e. sparse Bayesian learning, to achieve day-ahead and week-ahead load forecasting. Different from previous studies, the proposed method integrates multiple regression with SBL method by using it as a weather forecasting step while the whole learning and prediction process is based on feature engineering and moving window techniques. Test cases are conducted on historical load data from New York Independent system Operator (NYISO). In terms of prediction performance, the SBL-based hybrid method outperforms single relevance vector machine (RVM), artificial neural network and multiple regression method on load forecasting. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to analyze the DC integrated power systems containing a large number of switches accurately and quantitatively, this paper constructs a real-time simulation hardware-in-the-loop test platform. The platform integrates three key technologies, the first one is the real-time simulation method of large-scale power systems. This method is composed of modeling method of crucial equipment, network partitioning method, and electrical decoupling method. The second one is the construction of asynchronous communication interface. This platform realizes the function of uploading the system data to the database by UDP protocol and sending the control instructions to the system model by TCP protocol. The last one is the joint debugging of physical equipment and real-time simulator. Taking the integrated power system (IPS) as an example, the power system model is simulated by the real-time simulator, the network and energy management system are actual physical equipment, constructing the real-time simulation hardware-in-the-loop experimental platform. The real-time simulation performance and dynamic calculation results of the system verify the effectiveness of the real-time simulation method of large-scale power systems and the superiority of the platform. © 2022 IEEE.

The purchase cable transfers the kinetic energy of aircraft to arresting gear in landing process, which can realize the short-distance deceleration and stopping of aircraft. Purchase cable is in a complex stress condition in the working process, especially at the joint root. Therefore, the fracture of the steel wire due to fatigue at the root of joint is of the main failure mode for purchase cable. In this paper, the rain-flow counting method and the K-means clustering theory are used to extract cyclic stress load spectrum under different working conditions based on the tension data of purchase cable joint in arresting test. Finally, the fatigue life calculation is carried out by using Palmgren-Miner linear damage accumulation theory. The predicted lifetime of purchase cable obtained under different working conditions is in a good agreement with the actual service life of purchase cable. In conclusion, it is clearly shown that the above two prediction methods can estimate the service life of purchase cable with high accuracy and efficiency. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. -A piecewise linearized power distribution control strategy of Hybrid Energy Storage system (HESS) for the DC vessel microgrid is proposed in this paper. It not only can stabilize the DC bus voltage well but also can optimize the charge/discharge operation of storage units according to their current state-of-charge (SOC) level. The high power density energy storages (e.g. supercapacitor) response quickly to compensate the instantaneous load variation and keep the bus voltage stabilization, the high energy density energy storages (e.g. lithium battery) supply the continuous energy, moreover, the charge/discharge power of the lithium battery is closely related to the current SOC level of the supercapacitor. Simulation results indicate that the control strategy can automatically adjust the working state and output of the supercapacitor and lithium battery, and maintain the DC bus voltage within a reasonable range when the load demand suddenly change. © 2019 IEEE.

It is difficult to study the interaction mechanism between electromagnetic energy and metal materials directly in the electromagnetic rail launcher. Based on the existing test conditions, under the condition of tens of kiloamperes of current, the loading mode of long pulse current combined with external magnetic field is adopted, which is equivalent to the extreme environment of electromagnetic thermodynamic synthesis in the process of electromagnetic rail launching. In this paper, through theoretical calculation and ANSYS simulation, the magnetic field distribution of circular, rectangular, elliptic and straight slot coils are compared, and the influence of elliptic parameters on the magnetic field is emphatically analyzed. The ratio of long axis to short axis of ellipse when the magnetic field distribution is relatively uniform is obtained by simulated annealing algorithm. The conclusion shows that when the external coil is elliptic and the ratio of long axis to short axis is about 1.6, the magnetic field, current density and electromagnetic force on the metal sample can be equivalent to the electromagnetic rail launch condition. © 2021 IEEE.

The different open-circuit fault causes (i.e. terminal block damage, bonding wire fracture, driver circuit failure, et al.) lead to both one-way open-circuit and two-way open-circuit in neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters, namely the mixed-type open-circuit fault. In order to achieve a high diagnosis accuracy, the two types of open-circuit manifestations are simulated with two simulation ways to acquire mixed monitoring signal samples, on this basis, a diagnosis method using a dual-input convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed. The method uses the three-phase currents as the main monitoring signals, and the six midpoint voltages of the upper and down half bridge arms as the auxiliary monitoring signals for the open-circuit fault diagnosis. The effectiveness of the method is validated by simulation, and the effects of different sample durations and training sample numbers on the network training and diagnosis results are analyzed quantitatively. © 2021 IEEE.

The anti-jamming of communication radio has attracted intensive attentions from communication community. The blind source separation (BSS) is much effective when the jamming has entered. The multiple kernel independent component analysis (MKICA) is proposed instead of a single one, which can not only combine multiple kernels corresponding to different notions of similarity or information from multiple feature subsets, but also fuse distinctions of multiple kernels. The core of algorithm is the kernel canonical correlation analysis (KCCA), where the efficient use of multiple kernel trick makes it more suitable for different sources and more robust for different distributions. Hence, there will be a remarkable improvement of separation accuracy. Numerical experiments based on the artificially synthesized data and intermediate frequency (IF) signal containing clear voice demonstrate state-of-the-art performances of proposed algorithm. It is ideal for separation of useful communication signals when confronting with various jamming in the anti-jamming field. © 2019 IEEE.
