This paper focuses on a distributed event-triggered Gaussian mixture probability hypothesis density (GM-PHD) filtering algorithm. In this algorithm, sensors transmit their Gaussian components to neighbors basing on the event-triggered conditions. Then Gaussian components are fused for certain times by matrix reformulation method. This algorithm can reduce data transmission and energy consumption with guaranteeing the estimation performance. This paper studies the impact angle control guidance problem with general field-of-view (FOV) constraints for a moving target. Firstly, the control Lyapunov function (CLF) is constructed based on the state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) technique, and a nominal controller is designed to intercept the moving target at the desired impact angle without FOV constraints. The control barrier functions (CBFs) are designed according to the FOV constraints. Secondly, the CLF that guarantees stability is combined with the CBFs that guarantee forward invariance of the constraint sets. The minimum modification framework is used to numerically solve the guidance command through quadratic programming to ensure that the look angle of the missile always remains within the constraint interval during the interception process. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed guidance law is verified by numerical examples. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Plants sequester carbon through photosynthesis and provide primary productivity for the ecosystem. However, they also simultaneously consume water through transpiration, leading to a carbon-water balance relationship. Agricultural production can be regarded as a form of carbon sequestration *** the perspective of the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem, excessive water usage in food production will aggravate regional water pressure for both domestic and industrial purposes. Hence, achieving a harmonious equilibrium between carbon and water resources during the food production process is a key scientific challenge for ensuring food security and sustainability. Digital intelligence(DI) and cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS) are emerging as the new research paradigms that are causing a substantial shift in the conventional thinking and methodologies across various scientific fields, including ecological science and sustainability studies. This paper outlines our recent efforts in using advanced technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence(AI), digital twins, metaverses, and parallel intelligence to model, analyze, and manage the intricate dynamics and equilibrium among plants, carbon, and water in arid and semiarid ecosystems. It introduces the concept of the carbon-water balance and explores its management at three levels: the individual plant level, the community level, and the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem level. Additionally, we elucidate the significance of agricultural foundation models as fundamental technologies within this context. A case analysis of water usage shows that, given the limited availability of water resources in the context of the carbon-water balance, regional collaboration and optimized allocation have the potential to enhance the utilization efficiency of water resources in the river basin. In-band full-duplex (IBFD) integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems, where the base station (BS) simultaneously conducts the IBFD mode for both communication and sensing functions, increase spectral efficiency and reduce both communication and sensing latency. However, it is challenging to decouple the target echo and uplink communication signal at the digital domain of the receiver within serious self-interference (SI) from the transmitter. This paper investigates a digital canceller for IBFD ISAC systems with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform, enabling IBFD communication and sensing within the same time-frequency resource. With the proposed frequency-domain two-stage interference cancellation method, the ISAC receiver cancels the static interference and extracts the moving target echo signal for the sensing function. Subsequently, the uplink communication signal is decoupled after mitigating the target echo signal. Both sensing and communication performance are evaluated under different merits. Meanwhile, simulation and experiment results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the frequency-domain-canceller-enabling IBFD communication-based ISAC system. © 2014 IEEE.

The supply chain network is one of the most important areas of focus in the majority of business circumstances. Blockchain technology is a feasible choice for secure information sharing in a supply chain network. Despite the fact that maintaining security at all levels of the blockchain is difficult, cryptographic methods are commonly used in existing works. Effective supply chain management (SCM) offers various benefits to organizations, such as enhanced customer satisfaction, increased operational efficiency, competitive advantage, and cost reduction. Potential SCM for agricultural and food supply chains needs distributors, coordination and collaboration among farmers, retailers, and stakeholders. The use of technology like Block Chain (BC), sensors, and data analytics, can boost traceability and visibility, decrease waste, and ensure safety and quality throughout the supply chain. Therefore, this study develops a Hunger Games Search Optimization with Deep Learning Model for Sustainable agricultural and food Supply Chain Management (HGSODL-ASCM) technique. The fundamental goal of the HGSODL-ASCM technique is to improve decision-making processes for agricultural and food commodity production and storage in order to optimise revenue. In the provided HGSODL-ASCM technique, a bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) model is built to determine the amount of productivity and storage required to maximise profit. In order to boost the performance of the Bi-LSTM classification process, the HGSO algorithm has been utilized in this work. The presented HGSODL-ASCM technique can independently achieve the SCM policies via interaction with complicated and adaptive environments. A brief set of simulations were performed to ensure the improved performance of the HGSODL-ASCM technique. The simulation results demonstrated how superior the HGSODL-ASCM method is to other methods already in use. © The Author(s) 2023.

Asia stands out as a priority for urgent biodiversity conservation due to its large protected areas(PAs)and threatened *** the 21st century,both the highlands and lowlands of Asia have been experiencing the dramatic human ***,the threat degree of human expansion to biodiversity is poorly ***,the threat degree of human expansion to biodiversity over 2000 to 2020 in Asia at the continental(Asia),national(48 Asian countries),and hotspot(6,502 Asian terrestrial PAs established before 2000)scales is investigated by integrating multiple large-scale *** results show that human expansion poses widespread threat to biodiversity in Asia,especially in Southeast Asia,with Malaysia,Cambodia,and Vietnam having the largest threat degrees(~1.5 to 1.7 times of the Asian average level).Human expansion in highlands induces higher threats to biodiversity than that in lowlands in one-third Asian countries(most Southeast Asian countries).The regions with threats to biodiversity are present in~75%terrestrial PAs(including 4,866 PAs in 26 countries),and human expansion in PAs triggers higher threat degrees to biodiversity than that in *** findings provide novel insight for the Sustainable Development Goal 15(SDG-15 Life on Land)and suggest that human expansion in Southeast Asian countries and PAs might hinder the realization of *** reduce the threat degree,Asian developing countries should accelerate economic transformation,and the developed countries in the world should reduce the demands for commodity trade in Southeast Asian countries(i.e.,trade leading to the loss of wildlife habitats)to alleviate human expansion,especially in PAs and highlands.

Discretizing Continuous Action space With Unimodal Probability Distributions for On-Policy Reinforcement Learning

For on-policy reinforcement learning (RL), discretizing action space for continuous control can easily express multiple modes and is straightforward to optimize. However, without considering the inherent ordering between the discrete atomic actions, the explosion in the number of discrete actions can possess undesired properties and induce a higher variance for the policy gradient (PG) estimator. In this article, we introduce a straightforward architecture that addresses this issue by constraining the discrete policy to be unimodal using Poisson probability distributions. This unimodal architecture can better leverage the continuity in the underlying continuous action space using explicit unimodal probability distributions. We conduct extensive experiments to show that the discrete policy with the unimodal probability distribution provides significantly faster convergence and higher performance for on-policy RL algorithms in challenging control tasks, especially in highly complex tasks such as Humanoid. We provide theoretical analysis on the variance of the PG estimator, which suggests that our attentively designed unimodal discrete policy can retain a lower variance and yield a stable learning process.

Drawing inspiration from the dynamics of biological groups, flocking behavior has captivated interest due to its adaptive, self-organizing, and resilient characteristics. However, the presence of numerous agents in an open network environment raises concerns regarding the potential for information leakage during flocking movements. To address this issue, we present a decentralized output mapping function, executed independently by each individual agent, to ensure the maintenance of flocking behavior, including velocity alignment, cohesion and collision avoidance. Additionally, to enhance resource efficiency and convergence speed, an event-triggered mechanism is employed to mitigate the excessive consumption of bandwidth and computation resources in traditional flocking control algorithms. Moreover, the designed finite-time controller facilitates rapid convergence of flocking behavior. Finally, the efficacy of our proposed approach is corroborated through numerical simulation experiments. © 2024 IEEE.

Dynamic State Estimation for Power System with Communication Constraint Using Event-Triggered Cubature Kalman Filter

Accurate dynamic state estimation plays an important role in power systems. Although various filtering algorithms, such as unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and particle filter (PF), have been proposed based on phasor measurement units (PMUs), they occupy a huge communication bandwidth without specific concern, which puts heavy burden on the communication network especially when wireless communications are widely applied in smart grids. In order to relieve this communication burden, the event-triggered cubature Kalman filter (ETCKF) is proposed based on the stochastic event-triggered schedule in this paper, which guarantees that only the measurements containing innovational information are transmitted and has advantages over other event-triggered schedules, such as the deterministic event-triggered schedule, since it can maintain the Gaussian property of the conditional distribution of the system state. Based on the developed nonlinear event-triggered schedule, the cubature Kalman filter (CKF), using the third-degree spherical-radial cubature rule, further provides more accurate estimation than UKF and has lower computational complexity than PF. The proposed filter can effectively reduce the communication rate while ensuring the accuracy of filtering. Finally, the standard IEEE 39-bus system is utilized to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed method. © 2020 Journal of Beijing Institute of technology

In aircraft test, the sample size of flight test data is small, and the test data returned by telemetry also has the problem of attribute association. A weight design method of small sample decision under attribute association is proposed. The method enhances the small sample data based on the synthetic minority oversampling technique, reduces the dimension of variables through principal component analysis, normalizes the principal components based on the variance contribution rate, and obtains the weight of each principal component after dimensionality reduction. The research results can be applied to the weight design of the guidance and control system of aircraft, and provide a new method support for the subsequent relevant test evaluation. © 2022 IEEE.
