A low-profile and ultra-wideband unidirectional monopole antenna with absorbing material loading is proposed for ground-penetrating radar (GPR) applications in the UHF band. The overall dimensions of the antenna is 0.472λ0 × 0.152λ0×0.006λ0, where λ0 is the free-space wavelength at the lowest frequency of 0.38GHz. The monopole antenna with low profile operates in the 0.38GHz-3GHz band with standing-wave ratio © 2023 IEEE.

The mobile node communication in terahertz monopulse system requires narrow beam to align with the mobile target precisely. In this paper, the radiation pattern of four-horn monopulse antenna is analyzed by use of the geometric optics (GO) and aperture field integration method (AFIM), and an efficient placement optimization to reduce the beamwidth of four-horn monopulse is presented. The optimization combines the genetic algorithm (GA) with GO-AFIM. The GA is employed to seek the optimal positions of the four horns, and the GO and AFIM are introduced into the fitness function of GA to evaluate the individual fitness. The optimization result has narrowed the beamwidth and enhanced gain of radiation pattern. Compared with the simulation in full wave software, the proposed method costs less time in pattern analysis and performs more efficiently in placement optimization. © 2023 IEEE.

"Catastrophic forgetting" and scalability of tasks are two major challenges of incremental learning. Both of these issues were related to the insufficient capacity of machine learning model and the insufficiently trained weights as the increasing of tasks. In this paper, we try to figure out the impact of the neural network architecture to the performance of incremental learning in the case of image classification. During the increasing of tasks, we propose to use neural network architecture searching (NAS) to find a structure that fits the new tasks collection better. We build a NAS environment with reinforcement learning as the searching strategy and Long Short-Term Memory network as the controller network. Computation operation and connecting previous nodes are selected for each layer in the search phase. For each time a new group of tasks is added, the neural network architecture is searched and reorganized according to the training data set. To speed up the searching, we design a parameter sharing mechanism, in which the same building blocks in each layer share a group of parameters. We also introduce the quantified-parameter building blocks into the NAS, to identify the best candidate during each round of searching. We test our solution in cifar100 data set, the average accuracy outperforms the current representative solutions (LwEMC, iCaRL, GANIL) by 24.92%, 5.62%, and 3.6%, respectively, the more tasks added, the better our solution performs. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, An ultra-wideband high gain circularly polarized all dielectric lens antenna is proposed. The lens antenna consists a linearly polarized horn and a dielectric lens with a gap. The impedance bandwidth, axial ratio and gain of the antenna can be improved by changing the shape of the lens. The PSO-GA is used to improve the design optimization efficiency of lens antenna, and the modeling time is shortened through the integrated modeling technology. The impedance bandwidth of the lens antenna is 40%, the maximum axial ratio is 2.8dB, and the maximum gain is 21.5dBic at 65GHz. In the 60-90GHz frequency band, the gain is greater than 20.5dBic.

In this paper, an all-dielectric transmitarray compact antenna test range (TACATR) is proposed. The TACATR can be used as a low-cost alternative to traditional reflector compact antenna test range. The aperture perturbation mechanisms of the TACATR have been investigated, including aperture scattering interference and edge diffraction. Two optimization strategies are proposed to enhance the performance of the quiet zone (QZ). On the one hand, the unwanted edge diffraction is suppressed by employing suitable feeding sources and optimizing the focal aperture ratio (F/D). On the other hand, the interference of aperture scattering in QZ was further suppressed by optimizing the additional phase shift (APS). As an example, a Circular transmitarray (TA) with the dimension of 91mm was designed, which verifies the mechanism of interferences suppressing.

In this paper, An elliptical patch dipole antenna with resistive loading and parasitic structure is proposed. By loading the parasitic structure, the height of the antenna is reduced. The overall dimensions of the antenna are $0.16\lambda_{0}\times 0.08\lambda_{0}\times 0.03\lambda_{0}$ , and $\lambda_{0}$ is the free-space wavelength at the lowest frequency. By loading large reflective floors, the proposed antenna achieves a good unidirectional radiation performance in the whole frequency band from 0.18 GHz to 2 GHz with a $\text{VSWR} < 2$ , and an in-band peak gain of up to 7.41 dBi is obtained. It is a good candidate antenna for ground-penetrating radar.

In this manuscript, a dual-polarized wideband wide beamwidth magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna for millimeter-wave mobile communication is proposed. As can be seen from the simulation results, this design exhibits excellent performance. Owing to the mutual resonances of the magnetic dipole and the electric dipole, large bandwidths of 64.8% and 59% (18.4 GHz-33 GHz and 17.29 GHz-33.9 GHz) are obtained for the two polarizations, respectively. The isolation between the two ports is greater than 25 dB. By loading metal vias, the antenna's beamwidth is widened to more than 100° through the whole operating band. The antenna size is $\mathbf{5}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{5}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{1.72}\mathbf{mm}$ , and this compact structure is quite suitable for using in beam scanning antennas.

Electromagnetic countermeasure (ECM) is of extreme importance in modern warfare. In order to confront the threat of radar-net, cooperative jamming platform with multiple jammers is the main approach. A proper allocation of jamming resource is required before and during the process of interference. This paper proposes an artificial bee colony (ABC) based jamming resource allocation (JRA) algorithm with few parameter adjustments. The allocation strategy is encoded in integer to better handle the constraints of JRA problem. Furthermore, a genetic algorithm (GA) inspired solution update method is introduced in stages of algorithm to accelerate the convergence rate. simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm has a better performance in both rate and precision of convergence compared with tabu search artificial bee colony algorithm (TSABC) and ant colony optimization algorithm (ACO), which were adopted in previous related studies. ©2021 IEEE

In recent years, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) have been widely used in urban environments. The satellite positioning system plays an irreplaceable role in UGVs. However, the tall buildings in cities may cause interference to the transmission of satellite signals, which results in positioning delays, thus reducing the positioning accuracy of UGVs. To address this issue, a compensation method for information delay based on factor graph model is proposed in this paper. In the factor graph model utilized, the corresponding GPS factor node will not be generated when the GPS signal delay occurs at the current fusion time. The subsequent factor graph model is directly generated by the combined navigation system of visual odometry (VO) and inertial measurement unit (IMU). When the delayed GPS signal arrives, the measurement data of VO and IMU are used to compensate the delayed GPS positioning information. The compensated GPS positioning information is used to generate an additional factor node at the moment when the GPS signal actually arrives. This additional factor node is connected into the factor graph model for data fusion so that the delayed GPS positioning information can still be used to correct the positioning error. The method proposed in this paper effectively reduces the positioning error while taking into account the real-time performance. Experimental simulations show that the proposed method can reduce the positioning error while GPS signal delay occurs. ©2021 IEEE

Cross-polarization (XP) of the microstrip antenna was suppressed by etching comb-shaped slots in the patch. By cutting longitudinal comb-shaped slots on the rectangular patch, the transverse current at the patch edges that lead to cross-polarization was dammed up. Then, the co-to cross-polarization (CP-XP) ratio over entire angular range around the broadside direction was increased from 20 dB of the rectangular microstrip antenna (RMA) to 35 dB of the defected patch structure (DPS). Moreover, as the longitudinal current was little affected by the slots, the proposed structure has little effect on the other performances of the antenna (including gain, directivity, radiant principle and impedance bandwidth). As the presented structure is achieved by simple adding slots to the rectangular patch, it is very easy to be fabricated. © 2021 IEEE.
