In light of the growing complexity of the electromagnetic environment, traditional jamming decision-making methods have become less effective due to poor generalization and inefficient jamming performance. This paper proposes a jamming decision-making method based on next state prediction SAC (Soft Actor-Critic) to address this issue. Firstly, we design the state, action, and reward elements under electronic warfare scenarios. Secondly, a next state prediction critic network is proposed to accurately estimate the value function by modeling the environment dynamics and extracting richer representational information. Finally, a negative activation ReLU is introduced to improve the utilization ratio of network parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves a 98.4% success rate at a distance of 90 km from the radar and a 70.0% success rate at 30 km. Therefore, this method exhibits good adaptability and jamming performance in the field of jamming decision-making.

In the context of non-cooperative electronic countermeasures, the problem of formulating effective jamming task assignments arises due to insufficient collaborative jamming resources. This paper proposes a binary sparrow- hybridized beluga whale optimization algorithm based on jamming task assignments. The algorithm combines the binary sparrow search algorithm(BSSA) and the binary beluga whale optimization(BBWO), which is set with multi-dimensional constraints in the time, frequency and spatial domains. To achieve the optimal strategy for collaborative interference task assignment, a fitness function is constructed using both radar coverage and the signal-to-jamming ratio received by each radar. When the number of UAVs is 7 and the number of radars is 10, the simulation results show that the optimization speed and accuracy of the proposed algorithm are significantly higher than the BSSA and BBWO. Therefore, the algorithm has good coverage and performance in the field of jamming task assignments.

Recent days, radar cross section reduction(RCSR) of objects have attracted much interest as more and more wideband radar were used to detect low observable weapon platforms. Among the low observation technologies, shaping plays an important role. This paper focused on the effect of basement shape on the scattering of a cone-like object, and some basement shape better for low radar cross section design for around tip incident angle were analyzed.

An accuracy and efficient approach is proposed to fast design ultra-wideband microwave absorbers. The RC equivalent circuit model of absorbers is established according to impedance matching and transmission line theory. The model is suitable for low and high-frequency absorbers composed of multilayer square high impendence surface (HIS) and air layers of impendence matching. Absorbers with different parameters can be fast designed by utilizing the proposed model and genetic algorithm. The reflection coefficient of RC circuit and full-simulation are in good agreement, both of them are lower than -10 dB within 2-18 GHz or 4-50 GHz (fractional bandwidth of 160% or 170.37%), with the total thickness close to the Rozanov limit. An absorber is fabricated and measured to further verify the accuracy of the model. The measured results have a good agreement with the RC circuit model, which indicates the proposed method is an efficient way for fast designing ultra-broadband thin absorbers using double-layer (or multilayer) square HIS.

Periodic structures have attracted interests of researches for decades, and they were discovered more and more useful properties, and have been applied to many fields. Furthermore, more and more novel concept and phenomena based on periodic structures were proposed and found, such as tunable electromagnetic properties of some structures. In this paper, recent progress on two of the periodic structures, i.e., FSS and metamaterials and their variations, were revie, and the physical nature of these structures analog to materials were also suggested. © 2021 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

In this paper, multiagent genetic algorithm (MAGA) is firstly applied to tackle the synthesis of conformal sparse array, a constrained multi-objective optimization problem. Moreover, a model considered low peak sidelobe level (PSLL) is given for conformal sparse array synthesis. For the antenna array deployed on a quadric surface, the PSLL can be reduced by obtaining the optimal antenna element arrangement. An example of 256-element array synthesis with a 56% sparse rate proves MAGA as an effective optimization tool for conformal sparse arrays in low computational cost.

Aiming at the problem that the traditional specific emitter identification method has poor feature extraction ability and limited recognition effect, this paper proposes a known specific emitter identification algorithm based on the LBCNet (the Lightweight Binary Channels Net). The algorithm uses bispectrum and cyclic spectrum to highlight the unintentional information in the pulse. Then, it combines the idea of depthwise separable convolution to design the LBCNet to realize adaptive feature extraction, fusion, and classification. Finally, it integrates the attention mechanism to highlight the effective information of the image, enhance the neural network’s learning ability and improve the identification performance of specific emitters. The simulation results show that the recognition rate of the proposed algorithm is as high as 94.53% at 0dB, which has good engineering practical value and can be applied to the field of electronic reconnaissance.

In this paper, a wideband terahertz meta-surface absorber with ultra-thin thickness is proposed. The meta-surface unit cell is composed of four-square unit cells in two different sizes. The the absorption higher than 90% from 3.24 to 3.98THz is achieved which can be regarded as a perfect terahertz absorber. Due to the symmetrical layout of meta-surface unit cell, the absorption spectrum can be maintained for any linear polarized terahertz wave, and the absorptance can be kept higher than 80% while the incident angle increases before 45°. Furthermore, the thermal response is calculated to be 0.23 $\mathbf{K} \cdot{\mathbf{m}\mathbf{m}^{2}/ \upmu \mathbf{W}}$ that well suited the requirements of FPA detectors.

Design of non-uniform flexible meta-surface for antenna beam-steering is presented in this paper. By properly tuning the dimensions of quasi-I-shaped unit cells on meta-surface, we propose a bi-layer meta-surface that can achieve beam deflection of up to 34°. Horn antenna is adopted as the feed antenna to illuminate the meta-surface which is printed on flexible plastic sheet. The meta-surface is fixed on the outside surface of horn antenna with an electric motor, making it possible to slide relative to the aperture of feed antenna. The horn antenna together with the meta-surface will work like a projector when operating, the main-beam of the horn antenna can be steered when different frames of the meta-surface cover the horn aperture and the steering range is ±34°•Radiation reconfigurable is thus achieved through a simple structure. Prototype will be fabricated in the following research. © 2020 IEEE.

Under the condition of limited interference resources, how to maximize the benefits of multiple jammers interfering with multiple radars has become a research hotspot. This paper has designed a reasonable interference evaluation method. Aiming at the disadvantages of genetic algorithm and ant colony optimization, made some improvements, and combined genetic methods and ant colony optimization, besides, a new crossover and mutation method based on constraints is proposed, which overcomes the shortcomings of invalid iteration of genetic algorithm and easy to fall into local optimal solution of ant colony optimization. Through simulation analysis, the fused algorithm can reach the optimal value within a short number of iterations, improving the utilization efficiency of the jammer. © 2020 Institution of Engineering and technology.
