Anti-ship missiles can explode inside ships, so it is of great significance to study the explosion protection inside ships. In this paper, ANSYS/LS-DYNA numerical simulation software was used to simulate the explosion process of 350 kg TNT inside the cabin with and without doors based on the fluid-structure coupling algorithm. The calculation results show that by setting the door to open under a certain impulse, it is beneficial to reduce the convergence pressure at the corner of the cabin and the stress on the bulkhead, and at the same time, it can reduce the velocity and displacement of the upper bulkhead. It plays a certain role in the protection of cabin structure, and can provide ideas for improving the anti-explosion performance of typical ships. © 2022, China Ordnance Society.

Interactions between multiple bubbles near a structure are applicable in several fields such as military or industrial engineering. In this paper, interactions between two underwater explosion bubbles near a floating structure are investigated. Experiments were carried out in a cubic explosion tank, with high-speed images to record the expansion, collapse, jet and coalescence between the bubbles. In addition, numerical simulations are performed using Arbitrary Lagrange-Euler (ALE) method, and the simulations on behaviors of the bubbles are consistent with experimental observations. Effects of the bubble–bubble distance and bubble-wall distance on the bubbles’ interactions are discussed. It is found that the jet formation and development are largely dependent on the position and mutual distance between the bubbles. Research findings reported in this paper can provide a reference for multiple bubbles dynamics and the resultant damage on the structure nearby. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

With the purpose of the design problem of electromagnetic launch distributed measurement and control system, this paper proposes a design method of scalable large-scale distributed interconnected measurement and control system based on FlexRay bus. The task execution time deviation of each node in the distributed system, including phase deviation and frequency deviation, is reduced by using the macro tick generation process and clock synchronization process to achieve task synchronization in the distributed system. The synchronization of timing generation is realized based on the universal clock technology. When the timing interval is zero, the pulse power units are guaranteed to be close to the ideal full synchronization, thus ensuring that the released energy during transmission is close to the design value. In the state of adjustable timing, when the pulse power supply module conducts pulse discharge, the trigger discharge times of the modules are set according to the load needs. The flat top, sawtooth, and other characteristic current waveforms are adjusted accurately. At the same time, a combined multi-level protection structure based on hardware and software is realized. The verification results show that the distributed electromagnetic launch measurement and control system implemented in this paper can meet the high efficiency, fast and continuous launch target. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

With the continuous advancement of seeker technology and image processing techniques, the precision of guided weapons has increasingly improved. However, due to the rigidly fixed structure between the seeker and the guided weapon, the weapon is prone to experiencing disturbances and vibrations during flight, which can deteriorate the real-time video quality monitored by the seeker and, consequently reduce the precision of the guided weapon. To enhance the precision of guided weapons, it is necessary to mitigate the adverse effects of vibrations through video stabilization techniques. This paper proposes a video stabilization framework based on sub-pixel keypoints detection. It utilizes a lightweight network to detect keypoints, employs the Lucas-Kanade (LK) optical flow method for motion estimation, and smooths the camera's motion path with an adaptive filter. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has an average processing time of approximately 0.2s per frame, achieving a stability index of 0.9262, a PSNR index of 22.3074, and an SSIM index of 0.7188. This demonstrates a balanced performance in terms of computational efficiency and stabilization, exhibiting excellent comprehensive performance. © 2024 Institute of physics Publishing. With the gradual development of modern war in the direction of informationization and intelligentization, image guidance has established a prominent position in precision guidance technology with its high guidance accuracy, strong anti-jamming ability and precise hit probability, so the image seeker has become the focus of competitive development. However, missile jitter during flight, influenced by external disturbances and projectile rigidity, seriously affects the video quality captured by the camera in the image seeker, thereby reducing the detection accuracy of target recognition and tracking. In addition, the computational resources of the missile-mounted embedded platform are limited, and algorithms based on deep learning compute slowly. To address these issues, we have proposed a lightweight video stabilization framework and harnessed the potential of multi-core embedded devices through multiprocessing to achieve higher operating speeds. We tested our algorithm on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano device and achieved a speed improvement of nearly 30% compared to an algorithm for serial computation. © 2024 Institute of physics Publishing. In the design of tunnel structure, the damage caused by explosion should be considered. AUTODYN19.0 2D is used for numerical simulation. This paper studies the influence of explosion point’s position in long straight tunnel, L-shaped tunnel and T-shaped tunnel on the formation and propagation of shock wave, and summarizes its propagation attenuation law. The results show that the farther the explosion point is from the axis, the longer the reflection and oscillation time of the shock wave in the tunnel, and the longer the time and distance to form the plane wave. In the L-shaped tunnel, when the shock wave propagates to the corner, it will be reflected and superimposed. Part of the reflected wave will return to the original tunnel, the other part will be transferred to the next tunnel, and the peak value of the reflected wave will decrease after the corner. In the T-shaped tunnel, the reflection and flow around the explosion shock wave will occur in the lower tunnel, the left tunnel and the intersection. © 2022, China Ordnance Society.

Because the changing process of underwater explosions is more complicated and more dangerous than explosions in the air, coupled with the rapid development of underwater weapons damage capabilities, underwater explosion research has attracted much attention. In order to study the shock wave propagation and wall stress of the underwater explosion in the pool, this paper used numerical simulation software to establish the calculation model of the explosion pool through the mapping method, and compared with the empirical formula to verified the reliability of the simulation. It was concluded that the explosion shock wave will be reflected in multiple directions and multiple times in the pool. At the junction of each pool wall, due to the stress concentration, the stress was obviously greater than the center area of the pool wall;regardless of the stress concentration area, on the same horizontal line, the closer the observation point is to the burst center, the greater the stress. On the same vertical line, because of the unloading effect of the air–water interface on the shock wave, and the shock wave propagates to the bottom of the pool and continues to propagate to the side wall after reflection, the closer to the pool center but the farther away from the bottom of the pool, the smaller the stress. This article derived the law of underwater explosion shock wave propagation and the law of stress change on the pool wall, which provided a reference for the engineering design of related explosion pools. © 2022, China Ordnance Society.

Combining the advantages of micro-gas turbine generation system (MTGS) and power converters, moreover, comparing the various design ideas for the primary energy of electromagnetic launch technology, we design a primary energy to meet the reliability, stability, safety and portable of electromagnetic launch technology. We discuss the control ideas and methods to be adopted in this system, the first step is to output a stable DC bus voltage through rectification, and then to step up the voltage through a series resonant converter to achieve the desired output voltage. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, it reveals the effect of this load on the performance of MTGS, and the parameter optimization design is combined with the voltage outer loop control strategy to achieve the purpose of outputting stable voltage. We used a ARM controller to implement the control of this system to measure the response curve of the system under different input commands. According to the theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental results, the control strategy designed in this paper can better meet the performance index requirements of micro-gas turbine engine (MTE) and power converter as well as the control method is simple and easy to implement in engineering. The results of this paper confirm the feasibility of this primary energy application for electromagnetic launch technology. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper deals with the prediction and assessment methods of flood disasters due to heavy rainfall, especially focusing on analyzing the extreme weather performance of ecologically fragile zones in China. Initial discussions are devoted to the discussion of the development of flood disaster prediction methods in and outside of the country, traditional methods taking support from depth loss curves together with modern applications in the realm of machine learning, remote sensing and GIS technologies. Based on that a vulnerability assessment system focusing on natural and anthropogenic factors was developed and subject to the analysis using data normalization and a random forest model. The analysis indicates that the rainfall is the most important factor affecting flooding into the disaster area, while natural factors such as forests reduce the risk of the disaster. In forecasting, the author applied a basic linear regression model along with an LSTM neural network for predicting the type of land use change and trends in rainfall in China for the next decade. Combining these predictions and a random forest model will allow for the establishment of the potential disaster-prone areas from 2025 to 2035. The predictions reveal that the southern and south-eastern coastal China are to be concerned as high-risk areas. With the integration of heat maps and model results, a multi-faceted analysis gives out the important insights into the spatial distribution characteristics of disaster-prone areas in China and its implications with respect to disaster risk assessment, management, and responsive strategies.

The beam power is lifted up to 500 kW for the phase II of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS-II) project, which is five times the power of CSNS-I. At the CSNS, the neutron beams are generated by the spallation reaction of 1.6-GeV protons striking on a tungsten target. The multiwire profile monitor (MWPM) in front of the proton beam window is the only instrument for long-term monitoring of proton beam distribution when the protons are delivered to the spallation target. The wire interval of the target MWPM of CSNS-I is 7 mm, which is slightly sparse for beam profile measurements during the beam operation in recent years. To ensure the precisely monitoring and provide accurate signal for the Machine Protection System (MPS) when the beam is abnormal, an upgraded design was proposed and implemented. The design mainly employs the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) technique to route the signal originated from the tungsten wires. Four bias planes comprised of tungsten wires are added to mitigate the crosstalk effect brought about by stray electrons and enhance the secondary emission effect. The minimal wire interval of present design is 2 mm and the whole equipment is more compact compared with the previous one due to the PCB scheme.
