The complex symmetry breaking states in AV3Sb5 family have attracted extreme research attention,but controversy still exists,especially in the question of time reversal symmetry breaking of the charge density wave(CDW).Most recently,a chiral CDW has been suggested in kagome magnet FeGe,but the related study is very ***,we use a scanning tunneling microscope to study the symmetry breaking behavior of both the short-and long-range CDWs in *** from previous studies,our study reveals an isotropic long-range CDW without obvious symmetry breaking,while local rotational symmetry breaking appears in the short-range CDW,which may be related to the existence of strong structural ***,the charge distribution of the short-range CDW is inert to the applied external magnetic fields and the detailed spin arrangements of FeGe,inconsistent with the expectation of a chiral CDW associated with chiral *** results rule out the existence of spontaneous chiral and rotational symmetry breaking in the CDW state of FeGe,putting strong constraints on the further understanding of CDW mechanism.

Wheeler's delayed-choice experiment demonstrates wave-particle duality of particles using different experimental configurations of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. In a quantum version of this experiment, the wave-particle behaviour of photons can be observed by controlling presence or absence of the second beam splitter. Here, we implement a delayed-choice experiment with dual selections based on entangled photons, experimentally controlling both of two beam splitters in the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, where the presence and absence of the second beam splitter are simultaneously controlled through path encoding. Our experiment reveals the wave-particle behavior of single photons under different configurations of two beam splitters. We further discuss the scenario when two beam splitters are in a quantum superposition of being present and absent, photons will be in a wave-particle quantum superposition state.

Nanostructured materials have demonstrated superior radiation-damage tolerance compared to their coarse-grained counterparts,contributing to the extended lifespan of nuclear ***,the mechanisms underlying this enhanced irradiation resistance remain *** this study,we present atomistic simulations to investigate the impact of Cu/W heterophase interface on the evolution of irradiation-induced *** simulation results reveal that the Cu/W interfaces can act as defect sinks,effectively trapping self-interstitial atoms(SIAs).Furthermore,the interface demonstrates both the interstitial emission and interstitial transfer mechanisms,wherein the trapped W SIAs facilitate the emission of Cu atoms from the interface to the Cu *** emitted Cu SIAs can promote defect recombination on the Cu side,leading to a reduced defect concentration in the Cu/W ***,these combined mechanisms contribute to a lower overall concentration of irradiation-induced defect,thereby enhancing the radiation resistance of Cu/W nanomultilayers.

The thermal conductivity of plasma-facing materials(PFM)exposed to intense radiation is a critical concern for the reliable usage of materials in fusion ***,limited research has been performed regarding the thermal conductivity of structures that rapidly change in a short time during collision cascade processes under *** this study,we employed the tight-binding(TB)method to investigate the electronic thermal conductivity(κ_(e))of tungsten-based systems during various cascading *** found thatκ_(e) values sharply decrease within the initial 0.3 picoseconds and then partially recover at a slow pace;this is closely linked to the evolution of defects and microstructural *** increase in the initial kinetic energy of the primary knock-on atom and the presence of a high concentration of hydrogen atoms further decrease theκ_(e) ***,higher temperatures have a significant positive effect onκ_(e).Furthermore,the presence of a grain boundary∑5[001](130)substantially reducesκ_(e),whereas the absorption effect of point defects by the grain boundary has little influence onκ_(e) during *** findings provide a theoretical basis for evaluating changes in the thermal conductivity performance of PFMs during their usage in nuclear fusion reactors.

Magnesium(Mg)alloys are widely used lightweight structural materials for automobiles and help reduce carbon ***,their use increases the production of Mg alloy scrap,which is recycled at a much lower rate than aluminum,and its greater complexity poses challenges to existing recycling *** vacuum distillation can be used to recycle Mg alloy scrap,this requires optimizing and maximizing metal recirculation,but there has been no thermodynamic analysis of this *** this study,the feasibility and controllability of separating inclusions and 23 metal impurities were evaluated,and their distribution and removal limits were *** analyses and experimental results showed that inclusions and impurity metals of separation coefficient lgβ_(i)≤-5,including Cu,Fe,Co,and Ni below 0.001 ppm,could be removed from the *** Zn entered the recycled Mg,while impurities with-1vacuum distillation recycling:lower temperatures and higher system pressures for Zn separation in the early stage,and the early termination of the recovery process in the later stage or a continuous supply of raw melt can also prevent contamination during *** alloying elements Al and Zn in Mg alloy scrap can be further recovered and purified by vacuum distillation when economically feasible,to maximize the recycling of metal resources.
