Comparison of Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) Models on the Poverty Levels in Central Java in 2023

Poverty is considered a serious global issue that must be immediately eradicated by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, namely ending poverty anywhere and in any form. As a developing country, poverty is a complex issue faced by Indonesia. Tackling poverty in Indonesia has become a key focus of the government’s strategic priorities. This issue of poverty is experienced by all provinces in Indonesia, including Central Java. The poverty rate in Central Java stands at 10.77% or 3.79 million people. The causes of poverty are explained by several factors. Using these various factors, a mapping model can be conducted to determine the number of poor populations in Central Java. This research employs Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) approaches to compare the effectiveness of these models in analyzing the number of poor populations in Central Java in 2023. The kernel function weighting used in this study is Fixed Gaussian. The results showed that the MGWR model outperformed both the OLS regression and GWR models, achieving an Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) of 62.766, an R2 of 82.3%, and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.177. Consequently, it can be inferred that the MGWR model was more suitable for explaining the poverty levels in Central Java. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). All Rights Reserved.

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE) is a form of lupus that affects the skin and is highly sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light. UV-B. in particular. can trigger inflammation and apoptosis in CLE patients. making a sunscreen with effective UVB protection crucial. This study evaluates the effectiveness of zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles in sunscreen. ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared using the High Energy Milling method. resulting in particle sizes of 7.77 nm and 4.44 nm. respectively. The creams containing these nanoparticles were tested for physical stability and UV protection. Results showed that the creams were physically stable and provided good UV protection. with ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles making up 12.60% of the total cream ingredients. resulting in the highest SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value of 62.0 ± 1.37. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. Interfacial reactions in the Sn-9.0 wt.% Zn/Cu-Ti alloy (C1990 HP) couple

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of adding a small amount of Ti to a Cu-based alloy, specifically the commercial Hyper Titanium Copper alloy (C1990 HP), which contains Cu-3.28 wt.% Ti, on its interfacial reaction with Sn-9.0 wt.% Zn (SnZn) solder, using the liquid/solid reaction couple technique. Design/methodology/approach: The SnZn/C1990 HP couples were subjected to a reaction temperature of 240–270°C for a duration of 0.5–5 h. The resulting reaction couple was characterized using a scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer, electron probe microanalyzer and X-ray diffractometer. Findings: It was observed that the scallop-shaped CuZn5 and planar Cu5Zn8 phases were formed in almost all SnZn/C1990 HP couples. With increased reaction duration and temperature, the Cu-rich intermetallic compound (IMC)-Cu5Zn8 phase became a dominant IMC formed at the interface. The total thickness of the IMCs was increased with the increase in the reaction duration and temperature. The IMC growth obeyed the parabolic law, and the IMC growth mechanism was diffusion controlled. The activation energy of the SnZn/C1990 HP couple was 64.71 kJ/mol. Originality/value: This article presents an analysis of the IMC thickness in each sample using ImageJ software, followed by kinetic analysis using Origin software at various reaction temperatures of SnZn/C1990 HP in liquid/solid couples. The study also includes detailed reports on the morphology, interface composition and X-ray diffraction analysis, as well as the activation energy. The findings can serve as a valuable reference for electronic packaging companies that utilize C1990 HP substrates. © 2023, Emerald Publishing Limited.

The electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NitRR)represents a promising approach toward achieving economically and environmentally sustainable ***,it remains a challenge to regulate the size effect of electrocatalysts to optimize the catalytic activity and ammonia ***,the Cu-based catalysts were tailored at the atomic level to exhibit a size gradient ranging from single-atom catalysts(SACs,0.15–0.35 nm)to single-cluster catalysts(SCCs,1.0–2.8 nm)and nanoparticles(NPs,20–30 nm),with the aim of studying the size effect for the NO_(3)^(-)-to-NH_(3) reduction ***,the Cu SCCs exhibit enhanced metal–substrate and metal–metal interactions by taking advantageous features of Cu SACs and Cu ***,Cu SCCs achieve exceptional electrocatalytic performance for the NitRR with a maximum Faradaic efficiency of ca.96%NH_(3)and the largest yield rate of ca.1.99 mg·h^(-1)·cm^(-2) at-0.5 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).The theoretical calculation further reveals the size effect and coordination environment on the high catalytic activity and selectivity for the *** work provides a promising various size-controlled design strategy for aerogel-based catalysts effectively applied in various electrocatalytic reactions.

One of the critical visual components in video game creation is 3D asset prototypes, which also require significant effort. A procedural model using the L-system method for making low-poly buildings can address this issue. This model produces low-poly buildings based on simple parameters input by the user. The model receives input in the form of axioms, which are then processed according to predetermined L-system rules. After the building is formed, it is saved as a prefab in Unity so that it can be reused and modified by the user. The proposed method is implemented to our turn-based tactic *** and provided as a Unity package (add-on). Experimental results show that the buildings generated by the model have a minimalistic yet functional benefits. © 2024 IEEE.

Coastal regions play a pivotal role in various aspects of human activity, including environmental conservation, disaster response, and navigation. Effective shoreline detection in remote sensing imagery is crucial for these applications, but the accuracy of shoreline detection is closely tied to the quality of the input imagery. Remote sensing images often suffer from issues related to contrast and noise, which can obscure critical shoreline features. This study presents a novel framework for shoreline detection, combining Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) and advanced noise removal techniques to address these issues. CLAHE is employed to enhance local contrast and improve visibility, while noise reduction techniques mitigate the impact of inherent noise in remote sensing data. Key objectives of this research include evaluating the impact of CLAHE on image contrast and shoreline visibility, assessing the effectiveness of noise removal techniques in enhancing image quality, and investigating the combined effect of CLAHE and noise removal on shoreline detection accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate the framework's potential for improving shoreline detection accuracy, with notable enhancements in contrast and visibility. By optimizing image quality, this framework contributes to the field of coastal management, environmental monitoring, and disaster response, offering a valuable tool for the accurate delineation of shorelines in remote sensing imagery. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence was recently implemented in various fields. One of these applied artificial intelligence systems was the Performance Monitoring System "SiMoniK"for MSMEs. This system was designed through the C4.5 algorithm and the Porat-Rank method. The C4.5 algorithm was applied to classify the MSMEs into three classifications, e.g. the micro enterprise classification, the small enterprise classification, and the medium enterprise classification. Moreover, the Porat-Rank method was also applied to distribute the solving-problem recommendations and to improve the independence of MSMEs. The result of this study was that the C4.5 algorithm could classify the MSME data correctly in the form of an accuracy value of 99.2%. Besides, the Porat-Rank method could also provide recommendations in the form of outstanding quality with an NDCG mean value of 0.87. © 2023 IEEE.

The design and construction of delivering announcements using a web-based SMS gateway aims to help overcome problems that often occur at pioneer airports;this is because when passengers want to travel, many passengers still arrive late to check-in, even though the passenger ticket has a notification for checking. -in 1 hour before Departure. If a flight's Departure is delayed or accelerated, passengers will only receive this information when they arrive at the airport, whereas if at the time the departure notification is delayed or accelerated, the passenger is still outside the airport or still on their way to the airport, as a result, they will definitely not receive the information. Testing voice announcements on parking, arrival, departure, delay, check-in, and waiting room services, as well as testing SMS broadcasts (30 user numbers and one airline), shows that the announcement application provides information through voice data recording and broadcasts SMS to passengers and families. Testing was carried out at Indonesian Pioner airport for 30 passengers for a week. The percentage of Ease of obtaining test voice information was 81.98%, and the percentage of Ease of obtaining broadcast SMS information was 83.1%. Implementing the announcement is feasible at pioneer airports with a percentage of 82.54%. © 2024 IEEE.
