Lithium-Ion Capacitor (LIC) has shown promising performance to meet the needs of high energy and power-density-energy storage system in the era of electric vehicles nowadays. The development of electrode materials and electrolytes in recent years has improvised LIC performance significantly. One of the active materials of LIC electrodes, activated carbon (AC), can be synthesized from various biomass, one of which is the water hyacinth. Its abundant availability and low utilization make the water hyacinth as a promising activated carbon source. To observe the most optimal physical properties of AC, this study also compares various activation temperatures. In this study, full cell LIC was fabricated using LTO based anode, and water hyacinth derived AC as the cathode. The LIC full cell was further characterized to see the material properties and electrochemical performance. Water hyacinth derived LIC can achieve a specific capacitance of 32.11 F/g, the specific energy of 17.83 Wh/kg, and a specific power of 160.53 W/kg. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Light steel framing using the Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) sections is one of the Industrialized Building Systems (IBS) highly recommended for our construction industry; it not only contributes to speeding up construction time and reducing material usage but also guarantees the quality of the building. A relentless study has been conducted to achieve the appropriate configuration to ensure CFS popularity by introducing different types of joints applicable in constructing lightweight steel framing. A review of the CFS joint is provided in this study. The CFS joint is focused on the beam-column joint, apex and eaves, and truss joint. The study is mapped to establish research trends on CFS joints. Some areas show limited study and need future research on the proposed joints’ structural behavior aspects.

Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation in biomaterial synthesis is commonly used to do sterilization and to improve the physical characteristics. This study is aimed to study the characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol-Aloe vera (PVA-AV) nanofibers from electrospinning process, that was exposed by UV for 6 h with various power of 8, 10, 15, and 20 W. The physical properties of the fiber were characterized by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) test, and water absorption test. The SEM images showed that the nanofibers were formed with s homogeneous structure and no bead was observed. The diameter and the thickness of the nanofibers are increased with the increase of the power of UV exposed to the samples. The biggest diameter was 319.60 ± 56.17 nm obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. The FTIR test result indicated that there was no new chemical bond after the PVA-AV was exposed by UV. Meanwhile, the DSC test showed that the increase of power could increase the melting temperature (Tm) with the highest value of 189.51°C at UV exposure power of 20 W. The water absorption test showed that the highest water absorption was 739.6 % obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

This research is about smooth support vector machine (SSVM) and Decision Tree in data mining. Many researchers conduct and develop methods to improve the accuracy and classification of data on good results. This research was conducted by conducting an experiment on STMIK Neumann Medan student data. In this study, it was concluded that Decision Tree performance is better than SSVM, Decision Tree gets very good results that promise to help find the best students to get scholarships. This study is better than SSVM. The training process has a difference of 11.04% and the testing process is 10.08% with each Accuracy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Raspberry Pi is a mini-computer that is provided to carry out activities quickly and precisely, but Raspberry Pi was created to not be able to do the real-time system with the support of Windows 10 IoT operating system, so the real-time system can be done on Raspberry Pi. The real-time applied in the application needs to be tested with the Nyquist theory. The purpose of this study was to get real-time system measurements available on Windows 10 IoT. This test is done using the Nyquist theory by calculating the results of measurements on mp3 streaming performed on Windows 10 IoT. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In 2022, tobacco was the top export commodity, generating $106.3 million in sales. East Java Province contributes significantly to Indonesia's tobacco production, with an annual output of 188.6 thousand tons. Jember Regency is the area in East Java Province which is a Kasturi tobacco cultivation area. The productivity of Kasturi tobacco continues to decrease due to several factors that can affect the survival of the tobacco. This study aims to analyze the survival of Kasturi tobacco by creating stratified Cox and extended Cox models in order to handle factors that cannot fulfill the proportional hazard assumption. Based on the results of the analysis, the stratified Cox model is the best model with AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748 respectively, while the extended Cox has AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732 respectively. Variables that can significantly affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco are the variable concentration of ZA fertilizer, pesticide concentration. The addition of ZA fertilizer must be appropriate, because if excessive it can cause poisoning of tobacco plants. Likewise with pesticides, if excessive it will cause damage to the leaves. This policy can increase the productivity of Kasturi tobacco. Then, Jember Regency contributes greater export capacity. • This paper aims to determine the factors that affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco plants in Jember • By using the extended Cox model, the best one is obtained using the Heaviside function with AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732, respectively • The stratified Cox model is better than the extended Cox model, which has AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748, respectively © 2025 The Author(s)

Genetic programming and artificial life systems commonly employ tag-matching schemes to determine interactions between model components. However, the implications of criteria used to determine affinity between tags with respect to constraints on emergent connectivity, canalization of changes to connectivity under mutation, and evolutionary dynamics have not been considered. We highlight differences between tag-matching criteria with respect to geometric constraint and variation generated under mutation. We find that tag-matching criteria can influence the rate of adaptive evolution and the quality of evolved solutions. Better understanding of the geometric, variational, and evolutionary properties of tag-matching criteria will facilitate more effective incorporation of tag matching into genetic programming and artificial life systems. By showing that tag-matching criteria influence connectivity patterns and evolutionary dynamics, our findings also raise fundamental questions about the properties of tag-matching systems in nature. Higher education is an education unit that organizes higher education. College students are called students, while college educators are called lecturers. Higher education as a place of learning and self-development Students provide facilities to improve student achievement in the form of student achievement scholarships. This scholarship program is expected to stimulate students' interest in learning to be better. In determining scholarship recipients, the student division selects prospective scholarship recipients based on existing criteria. In the selection process, the student division has difficulty choosing the data of prospective recipients. Because each type of scholarship criteria and has different criteria weights. Calculation of the value of weighting criteria requires precision. Based on the problems that occur, the author designed a decision support system to determine the recipients of achievement scholarships using the SAW method. This system can help student affairs to carry out criteria for recipients of achievement scholarships based on administrative data of prospective scholarship recipients in determining criteria for weighting value calculations. With this system, it can minimize errors to determine prospective scholarship recipients who excel. After testing the use of support systems for deciding scholarship decisions using the SAW method, it can be concluded that a decision support system can assist the student's part in carrying out their duties. © 2019 IEEE.

Elbow angle estimation for medical rehabilitation device based on EMG sensor with ARIMAX method

In the development of medical rehabilitation tools, muscle signals or electromyographic (EMG) are often used as feedback from the body in order to facilitate normal movement patterns. Through this signal, the force, torque, and angle can be estimated to produce the desired movement in the robot to assist patients in rehabilitation therapy. There had been various research done on estimating the extremities' joint angle, including the system identification method with Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Input (ARIMAX) model structure. This research aims to model biceps brachii's EMG signal and the elbow joint angle using the ARIMAX model structure. In modeling, the order of the model was selected using the methods of minimizing the AIC (Akaike Information Criteria) and RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) values. The reported results showed the comparison of the outcome and model orders from three data sets with a frequency sampling of 47.6690 Hz, l66.3248 Hz, and 935.6743 Hz, respectively. The frequency sampling of l66.3248 Hz results showed the best accuracy performance of the ARIMAX model structure. The model order which is selected based on the minimization of the RMSE value obtained the best estimate, while the order models were selected based on the minimization of the AIC value showed a more consistent performance on the data estimation and validation.

Synthesis and characterization of folic acid-functionalized, doxorubicin-loaded magnetic nanoparticles as drug delivery system for cancer

Cancer is one of the primary causes of death in the world and the prevalence in Indonesia reaches 1,4% per year. One method of the most developed cancer therapies right now is targeting drug delivery. Targeting drug delivery makes it possible for drugs to be delivered directly to the targeted cells and released once they reach the destination. The aim of this research is to develop a nanocarrier using folic acid-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles to improve the effectiveness of antitumor drugs for cancer therapy. The magnetic nanoparticles synthesis method used in this research is chemical synthesis. Chemical materials FeCl3 and FeCl2 are mixed with NH4OH until magnetic nanoparticles appear. The magnetic nanoparticles obtained are then coated using bovine serum albumin, loaded with the drug doxorubicin, and functionalized with folic acid. The characterization methods used are Brine Shrimp Lethal Test (BSLT), X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), and MTT Assay. The success of drug release test is performed using UV-Vis. The results of this research showed that the magnetic nanoparticles were non-toxic with no impurities, but had not passed the size requirement as a good nanocarrier. Drug release in acidic pH, which is 5.4, had the highest release rate, thus it would be suitable for cancer cells which have lower pH compared to normal cells. Cytotoxicity test using MTT Assay method with murine osteoblastic cell line MC3T3 cells showed quite high cell viability, so it will not affect normal tissues and cells. It can be concluded that folic acid-functionalized, doxorubicin-loaded magnetic nanoparticles have potential to be used as nanocarrier in drug delivery system.
