Background: There would be over 600 million people living with diabetes by 2040 as predicted by the World Health Organization. Diabetes is characterized by raised blood sugar and insulin resistance. Insulin regulates the influx of glucose into the cell by upregulating the glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) expression on the plasma membrane. Besides, PPAR-γ also controls the metabolism of glucose in adipose tissues. Curcuma mangga Val., denoted as C. mangga, is a native Indonesian medicinal plant that has many beneficial effects, including an antidiabetic potential. Purpose: In this research, we aimed to disclose the hypoglycemic activity of ethanol extract of C. mangga (EECM) in 3T3-L1 fibroblasts-derived adipocyte cells in regulating glucose uptake as confirmed by the GLUT4 and PPAR-γ gene expression. Methods: The uptake of glucose was determined using radioactive glucose, while the gene expression of GLUT4, PPAR-γ, and β-actin was quantified using mRNA segregation and real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Results: We discovered that EECM interventions (200 and 50 μg/mL) increased glucose uptake in lipid-laden 3T3-L1 cells by 14.75 and 8.86 fold compared to the control noninsulin, respectively (p < 0.05). At the same doses, they also increased GLUT4 mRNA expression by 8.41 and 11.18 fold compared to the control non-insulin, respectively (p < 0.05). In contrast, EECM interventions (200 and 50 μg/mL) showed lower levels of PPAR-γ mRNA expression compared to the control metformin, indicating the anti-adipogenic potentials of EECM. Conclusion: EECM showed hypoglycemic activity in lipid-laden 3T3-L1 cells by improving glucose ingestion into the cells, which was mediated by increased GLUT4 expression and downregulated PPAR-γ expression. © 2020 Pujimulyani et al.

The stresses that occurred on the structures of a flying wing aircraft exemplified by the Flying-V structures (inspired by the design of Dr. Justus Benad of TU Delft) were evaluated using the finite element method to ensure a safe cruise condition. Two materials, i.e., aluminum alloy and carbon/epoxy composites, were defined in the analysis of the conceptual sub-structures (frame, longeron-stringer, spar-fuselage, ribs, spar wing, and upper and lower skin). These conceptual sub-structures do not necessarily represent the actual design of the Flying-V, although they may be adopted as the initial step. Structural optimization was performed with two objectives: (i) to minimize the sub-structural thickness of fully aluminum aircraft and (ii) to minimize the sub-structural thickness and laminate stacking sequence of fully composite aircraft. To this end, the stresses and wing-tip deflection were minimized. The analysis showed that carbon/epoxy composite is a feasible material to minimize the wing-tip deflection and weight compared to the aluminum alloy. The minimization of wing-tip deflection and weight was possible using a composite lay-up of quasi-isotropic, either (0/45/-45/90)s or (0/45/90/-45)s. Here, the finite element analysis provides a path to further the structural optimization of the non-conventional flying wing aircraft.

Quantum tunneling phenomenon allows a high-barrier reaction to occur even though thermal energy is not sufficient to surmount the barrier. The phenomenon has been suggested to exist in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene which occured at 11 K. Here we study the quantum tunneling that occured in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde and to vinyl alcohol based on density functional calculations. The isomerization pathways are determined under the effect of various solvents which are modeled by polarizable continuum model (PCM). We use Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation to calculate the tunneling probability (T) and extend the usefulness of T into isomerization rate. The results show that the solvents give a significant effect on the isomerization rate of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde but an insignificant one on the isomerization rate to vinyl alcohol. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. The standard cosmological model assumes a homogeneous and isotropic universe as the background spacetime on large scales called the cosmological principle. However, some observations suggest the possibility of an inhomogeneous and anisotropic universe at large scales. In this paper, we investigate a model of the Universe with random inhomogeneities and anisotropies on very large scales, motivated by the supercurvature dark energy model in Nan et al. [Phys. Rev. D 99, 103512 (2019)]. In this model, the authors introduced a scalar field with O(1) inhomogeneities on a scale sufficiently larger than the current horizon scale (superhorizon scale), and the potential energy of the scalar field explains the accelerating expansion, with slight deviations from the cosmological principle. We aim at clarifying the theoretical prediction on the large-scale structure (LSS) of the matter component in this model. Based on the work on the superhorizon scale fluctuations (superhorizon mode) presented in Y. Nan and K. Yamamoto [Phys. Rev. D 105, 063518 (2022)], we derive the equations that the perturbative components to the LSS obey as a generalization of the cosmological perturbations theory, which is solved to find the influence of the dark energy inhomogeneities on the formation of the LSS. Finally, we show that the model can be consistent with observations by comparing the σ8 predicted by the numerical solution of the model with the σ8 indicated by observations such as Planck and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

The catalytic thermal conversion of carbon dioxide is essential for carbon capture, storage, and utilization, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions and potentially stimulating future economic activities. Zeolite Y, ZSM-5, BEA, and A were synthesized using the hydrothermal technique from Indonesian kaolin to examine the potential use of zeolite as a catalyst without metal nanoparticles. In the absence of metal, catalytic activity for CO₂ methanation relies solely on textural properties and basicity-acidity. Zeolite Y exhibits the highest CO₂ conversion at 36.64 % and attained 100 % of CH₄ selectivity at 400 °C. The exceptional CO₂ conversion of zeolite Y relies on a high basicity level of 1.02 mmol/g, as shown by CO₂-TPD analysis, and a relatively low acid site concentration of 1.48 mmol/g, as determined by NH₃-TPD analysis. ZSM-5, BEA, and zeolite A, demonstrated CO₂ conversion of 29.85 %, 23.86 %, and 12.15 %, respectively. Stability studies revealed ZSM-5 maintains methane (CH₄) selectivity of 94 %, which is only slightly lowered by 6 % for 30 hours, while zeolite Y achieved 90 % selectivity for 26 hours. The presence of mesopores in zeolite ZSM-5 reduced coke or carbon production, maintaining crystalline framework. © 2024 The Authors

Along with the increasing of infrastructure development in Indonesia especially in jepara, so the necessary of material also increase, for example: sand. Nowadays, muntilan is the sand that often be used in making infrastructure in the government because it is considered that it has the good quality, whereas in the other hand the river sand is also abundant, but the government perverted mintilan sand as the development material. River sand is usually used by the middle to lower county because the house because the price is cheaper than muntilan sand. After doing this research we hope that: can know the quality of the river sand if it is used in infeastructure, knowing the river sand in jepara that have the good quality, such as: keling sand, bangsri sand, The stages of this research are: preparation, sand inspection (mud content and organic faces, filter analysis, moister content and weight, and specific gravity), making spacimens based on SKSNI 03-6825-2002 ASTM C 305, making compressive strength test. The test result show that at 3,7,14,21,28 days old show that keling sand (93,2 kg/cm2), bangsri sand (135,2 kg/cm2). The use of river sand as the construction material by the government and community will have consequence on the balance kf muntilan sand and river sand. In this investigation, a quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) model coupled with a quantum neural network (QNN) was used to explore the corrosion inhibition efficiency (CIE) of quinoxaline compounds. Integrating quantum chemical properties (QCP) features reduced computational burden by strategically reducing the features from 11 to 4 while maintaining prediction accuracy. QNN models outperform traditional methods like artificial neural networks (ANN) and multilayer perceptron neural networks (MLPNN), with a coefficient of determination (R 2 ) value of 0.987, coupled with diminished root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean absolute deviation (MAD) values of 0.97, 0.92, and 1.10, respectively. Predictions for six newly synthesized quinoxaline derivatives: quinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid (Q1) , methyl quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (Q2) , (2 E ,3 E )-2,3-dihydrazono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline (Q3) , (2 E ,3 E ) 2,3-dihydrazono-6-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline (Q4) , ( E )-3-(4-methoxyethyl)-7-methylquinoxalin-2(1 H)-one (Q5) , and 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-7-methylthieno[3,2- b ] quinoxaline (Q6) , show remarkable CIE values of 95.12, 96.72, 91.02, 92.43, 89.58, and 93.63 %, respectively. This breakthrough technique simplifies testing and production procedures for new anti-corrosion materials.

In the industrial era 4.0, it has surpassed increasingly complex technological advances in the information system that required a very high infrastructure and facilities and prevented fraud. Counterfeiting is a procedure following an entity, statistics, or documents (observe forged documents) with plans to deceive. Falsification of extensive information certificates is exacerbated by the current economic situation in Indonesia, which is currently occurring due to the widespread epidemic, namely COVID-19. The spread of the COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact and changes in all sectors, especially certificate forgery in Indonesia. The imitation of busy certificates is the main focus of this journal, focusing on journal publications combined with Blockchain technology. The sophistication of blockchain technology as authentication is comparing two or more items or additional tests to ensure the accuracy, correctness, or correctness of the information. This method uses qualitative methods with data sources based on case studies in controlled supervision with the basic concept of cryptography as the basis of analysis. From the decisions made, it is hoped that this will minimize the level of forgery of certificates widely measured during the COVID-19 era.

A decision support system is a solution to help provide decision recommendations in determining which options to choose as a solution, in this decision support system research, namely analyzing and comparing the Matching Profile method and the SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) method in providing the best choice solution in the case of determining teaching staff acceptance. Determination of Admission, The selected teaching staff, are teaching staff who are in accordance with the criteria and quality. In an educational institution, namely TPQ Anbata, it is a very important issue to get elected teaching staff. One way to get teaching staff who is in accordance with the cafeteria is determined by selecting or determining prospective teaching staff by paying attention to various assessment criteria so that the selected teaching staff is feasible. From the tests that have been carried out, the results obtained include all test cases, and the testing is appropriate. The results of the system calculation accuracy test show that the calculation of Matching Profile and SAW (Simple Additive Weighting Method carried out by the system with manual calculations is correct and the feasibility test. Appropriate to use in making decisions determining the recruitment of teachers than the profile matching method in Anbata TPQ. The difference is in the highest value in each method. In the profile matching method, the highest value is Salman Al Fariz with a value of 4.70 while in the SAW method the highest value is Ali Gufron with a value of 8,778., it can be concluded that the most appropriate method in determining the recruitment of teaching staff at TPQ Anbata is the Profile Matching Method.

Uncontrolled urban expansion resulting from urbanization has a disastrous impact on agricultural land. This situation is being experienced by the densely populated and fertile island Java in Indonesia. Remote sensing technologies have developed rapidly in recent years, including the creation of Google Earth Engine (GEE). Intensity analysis (IA) is increasingly being used to systematically and substantially analyze land-use/land-cover (LULC) change. As yet, however, no study of land conversion from agriculture to urban areas in Indonesia has adopted GEE and IA approaches simultaneously. Therefore, this study aims to monitor urban penetration to agricultural land in the north coastal region of West Java Province by applying both methods to two time intervals: 2003-2013 and 2013-2020. Landsat data and a robust random forest (RF) classifier available in GEE were chosen for producing LULC maps. Monitoring LULC change using GEE and IA has demonstrated reliable findings. The overall accuracy of Landsat image classification results for 2003, 2013, and 2020 were 88%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. IA outputs at interval levels for all categories showed that the annual change-of-area rate was higher during 2013-2020 than during 2003-2013. At the category level, IA results showed that the area of agricultural land experienced net losses in both periods, with net loss in 2013-2020 being 2.3 times greater than that in 2003-2013 (∼1,850 ha per year). In contrast, the built-up area made net gains in both periods, reaching almost twice as much in the second period as in the first (∼2,030 ha per year). The transition-level IA performed proved that agricultural land had been the primary target for the expansion of built-up areas. The most extensive spatial distribution of land conversion from agriculture to built-up area was concentrated in the regencies of Bekasi, Karawang, and Cirebon.
