Global trends show a growing need to reduce environmental impacts while maintaining high performance. As a result, the oil and gas industry is witnessing the rise of innovative, greener solutions to meet this critical need. Surfactants are of multiple industrial importance. This includes stabilizing emulsions, which are of pivotal importance for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Also, it is a pressing issue for Kazakhstan, where complex reservoir conditions exist. This study examines anionic surfactants, SDS, and a Henna-based surfactant for emulsifying light and heavy crude oils. Focus is placed on Kazakhstan's reservoirs. Heavy oil from West Kazakhstan and synthetic decane were tested. A 1:9 oil-to-water ratio was used for emulsions, replicating typical reservoir conditions. Tests were conducted at room temperature and 60°C. Henna consistently outperformed SDS, yielding a smaller creaming index (CI) and better emulsion stability across all concentrations. CI of 0.3 % for henna/crude oil systems could be achieved after 360 min and a significantly lower interfacial tension (IFT) was demonstrated by the interface (0.7 mN/m vs. 2.5 mN/m). Low CI values are supported by small droplet sizes of henna emulsions, compared to that of SDS (27.19 µm vs. 76.96 µm). These results demonstrate Henna's effectiveness in reducing IFT, viscosity and enhancing emulsion stability. The results show future potential for natural surfactant application in Kazakhstan. The presence of asbestos in many rural areas in Türkiye is a well-known issue. Recently, it has been proved that inhaling asbestos fibers can cause asbestosis, lung cancer, or mesothelioma and adversely affect human health. Dangerous fibers may be found in the soil content resulting from the decomposition, dispersion, and use of asbestos-containing rocks by natural or anthropogenic activities. In this study, the effects of using naturally occurring asbestos containing rocks as road material on the environment and human health in the Altınekin district, Koçyaka, and Akçaşar neighborhoods were evaluated. Chrysotile, tremolite, and actinolite minerals were found in mineralogical analysis of the samples taken from the rocks used for road construction. In areas where naturally occurring asbestos containing rocks are extracted, the amount of fiber in the air varies between 0.038 and 0.3 f/m3. The amount of fiber measured in road dust is between 0.050 and 0.1 f/m3. Individuals may be exposed to road dust during transportation to agricultural areas in the region located in the arid climate zone. The proximity of naturally occurring asbestos containing rocks to settlements, and the transport of weathered fibers here with wind, poses a threat to people living in these regions.

In this paper, we describe the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) implementation of our City-LES code on detailed large eddy simulations, including the multi-physical phenomena on fluid dynamics, heat absorption and reflection by surface and building materials, cloud effects, and even sunlight effect. Because a detailed simulation involving these phenomena is required for analyses at the street level and several meters of resolution, the computation amount is enormous, and ordinary CPU computation cannot provide sufficient performance. Therefore, we implemented the entire code on GPU clusters with large-scale computing. We applied OpenACC coding to incrementally implement relatively easy programming and eliminate data transfers between the CPU and GPU memories. Based on this research, we determined that the elimination of data transfers is effective, even in the case where a part of the code execution on the GPU is slower than the CPU, owing to the absence of spatial parallelism. The objective of this study is to perform a complete climate simulation on a few square-kilometers field around the Tokyo Station, considering the finest resolution of the original highlighted area of the Marathon race in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. We successfully transferred the entire code to the GPU to provide approximately eight times the performance of CPU-only computation on multi-GPU per node with a large scale cluster. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

Migration velocity of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data is a low wavenumber attribute crucial for migration. Obtaining a migration velocity model, which is considered closer to a Root Mean Square (RMS) model, from zero-offset (ZO) data requires analysis of the available diffractions whose density and (x, t) coverage is random. Thus, accuracy and efficiency of such a velocity model either for migration or its usage for interval velocity model estimation is not guaranteed. Here, with the aid of an Artificiaal Intelligence (AI) algorithm, which detects diffractions and usage of their kinematic information, we generate a diffraction velocity model used for the assignment of 2D weights for weighted multipath summation. The scope is to efficiently focus the scattered energy within a GPR section. We describe this methodology and demonstrate its application in enhancing the lateral continuity of reflections. We compare it with the multipath summation using lD weights with simulated data and present its application on marble assessment GPR data for imaging cracks in the subsurface structure. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently, researchers in the power system industry have considered the intelligent parking lot idea. The intelligent parking lots (IPL) try to exchange power with the upstream by electric vehicles (EVs) charge/discharge application. The mentioned process of charge/discharge can provide a solution model of regular problems in this field, i.e., peak time problems. Additionally, such vehicles' existence can play an essential role in environmental performance enhancement in power systems. The primary purpose of this paper is to consider such enhancements of EVs in power systems and environmental performance. For this purpose, a multi-objective optimization approach is suggested for the environmental performance and economical operation of IPL by considering the time-of-use rates of a demand response program. Since such a model is associated with various practical bounds, the multi-objective grasshopper optimization algorithm is suggested to solve this problem. The outcomes indicate the effectiveness of the compared techniques utilizing fuzzy decision-making strategies. Chaos theory is employed to increase this method and progress searching operators. Additionally, the proposed multi-objective technique is a model created using fuzzy theory, variable detection, strategy selection-based memory, and non-dominated sorting theory to choose the best Pareto from a list of solutions with robust functionality for resolving the problems mentioned above. The proposed technique is tested on a sample system that includes an intelligent parking lot, local production facilities, and non-renewable and renewable production systems under the proposed uncertainty strategy of upstream grid pricing. The study showed the effectiveness of the suggested method. The simulation findings indicate that the emission rate and overall cost of intelligent parking lots are reduced by 3.87 and 2%. It indicates that economic and environmental objectives are also satisfied due to the successful deployment

Enhancing Geometric Ontology Embeddings for EL++ with Negative Sampling and Deductive Closure Filtering

Ontology embeddings map classes, relations, and individuals in ontologies into Rn, and within Rn similarity between entities can be computed or new axioms inferred. For ontologies in the Description Logic EL++, several embedding methods have been developed that explicitly generate models of an ontology. However, these methods suffer from some limitations;they do not distinguish between statements that are unprovable and provably false, and therefore they may use entailed statements as negatives. Furthermore, they do not utilize the deductive closure of an ontology to identify statements that are inferred but not asserted. We evaluated a set of embedding methods for EL++ ontologies based on high-dimensional ball representation of concept descriptions, incorporating several modifications that aim to make use of the ontology deductive closure. In particular, we designed novel negative losses that account both for the deductive closure and different types of negatives. We demonstrate that our embedding methods improve over the baseline ontology embedding in the task of knowledge base or ontology completion. © 2024, CC BY.

Near-infrared(NIR)laser-induced phototherapy through NIR agents has demonstrated the great potential for cancer ***,insufficient tumor killing due to the nonuniform heat or cytotoxic singlet oxygen(1 O2)distribution over tumors from phototherapy results in tumor recurrence and inferior *** achieve high tumor killing efficacy,one of the solutions is to employ the combinational treatment of phototherapy with other modalities,especially with chemotherapeutic *** this paper,a simple and effective multimodal therapeutic system was designed via combining chemotherapy,photothermal therapy(PTT),and photodynamic therapy(PDT)to achieve the polytherapy of malignant glioma which is one of the most aggressive tumors in the ***-780(IR780)dye-labeled tube-forming peptoids(PepIR)were synthesized and self-assembled into crystalline nanotubes(PepIR nanotubes).These PepIR nanotubes showed an excellent efficacy for PDT/PTT because the IR780 photosensitizers were effectively packed and separated from each other within crystalline nanotubes by tuning IR780 density;thus,a self-quenching of these IR780 molecules was significantly ***,the efficient DOX loading achieved due to the nanotube large surface area contributed to an efficient and synergistic chemotherapy against glioma *** the unique properties of peptoids and peptoid nanotubes,we believe that the developed multimodal DOX-loaded PepIR nanotubes in this work offer great promises for future glioma therapy in clinic.

Sericin is a natural protein from silkworm cocoons. It is used in many biomedical applications as scaffolds, films, hydrogels, and micro/nanoparticles. This study was interested in fabricating a scaffold from sericin as a wound healing patch. The scaffold was fabricated, but sericin had poor properties, so it needed to be solved using another polymer. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PV A) was chosen to improve their properties in conjunction with chemical (adding glutaraldehyde) and physical (freezing-thawing) crosslink. The cross-section of SEM showed high porous and good interconnectivity all around the sheet of both scaffolds. The chemical crosslink scaffold (CC scaffold) was smaller porous than the physical crosslink scaffold (PC scaffold). The result of FTIR showed that the specific absorption peaks of sericin were amide I at 1618–1640 cm -1 ( $C=O$ stretching), amide II at 1518–1638 cm -1 (N-H bending and C-N stretching) and amide III at 1238 cm -1 (C-N and $C=O$ stretching). Adding glutaraldehyde gave the two small peaks at 2830 -3000 cm -1 , indicating the C-H bond of the aldehyde and alkyl functional group. The mechanical testing, crosslinking can resist deformation observed from Young's modulus. Young's modulus of non-crosslink, physical and chemical crosslink scaffolds were $1.4\pm 0.001,34.4\pm 0.004$ and $7.5\pm 0.004\text{kPa}$ , respectively. Elongation at break of scaffolds were 116.4 $\pm$ 11.1 %, 140.3 $\pm$ 13.2% and 22.7 $\pm$ 17%, respectively. These results suggested that the addition of glutaraldehyde had an impact on the brittleness of the scaffold. The swelling property indicated the wound healing patch's efficiency in absorbing liquids or exudate. There were two folds of swelling of the CC scaffold compared with the PC scaffold at intervals time after immersion. At the same time, sericin released more than 450 $\mu \mathrm{g}/\text{mL}$ from both scaffolds after 48 $h$ . MTT assay showed that they were non-toxic at 2 4 and 4 8 $h$ . Cell viability has
