Another characteristic of peer-to-peer architecture interactions is that the trusting peer might have to choose a peer to interact with, from a set of possible trusted peers. It can ease its decision making process of choosing a peer to interact with by analyzing the risk that could be involved in dealing with each of the possible trusted peers. In this paper we propose a smart repeater that consumes less energy and is suitable for driving global interconnections in nanometre technologies. When there is coupling between interconnects, the effective capacitance of a given wire is a function not only of the physical geometry, but also the relative switching pattern described by the bits on the wire in question (the victim) and the adjacent wires (aggressors). The drive strength of a traditional repeater is static, resulting in a spread of the propagation delay, with the repeater strength being essentially too much for every bit pattern other than the worst-case pattern. In the proposed SMART repeater, the drive strength is dynamically altered depending on the relative bit pattern, by partitioning it into a Main Driver and Assistant Driver. For a higher effective load capacitance both drivers switch, while for a lower effective capacitance the assistant driver is quiet. By disconnecting part of the repeater when it is not needed, the total load capacitance to the previous stage is reduced, resulting in reduced energy consumption for those instances. It is shown that the potential average saving in energy can be as much 15% with a 18% jitter reduction over a traditional repeater for typical global wire lengths in nanometre technologies. This paper presents a new approach of structure identification and parameter estimation for Hammerstein Model by using particle swarm optimization (PSO). The average square error criterion (ASE) has been proposed to decrease computation and obtain the true optimal structure effectively. Meanwhile, the modified identification algorithm is always converging by backward algorithm, and thus obtaining a high precision for the parameter estimation. Simulation results indicate that the ASE is an efficient order selection criterion, but Akaike's information criterion (AIC) and minimum description length (MDL) are not good for order selection and parameter estimation in Hammerstein model

Molecular dynamics simulations of tensile deformation of amorphous metals with dispersed nanocrystalline particles were performed in order to reveal the particle size effects on Young's modulus and the flow stress through all crystal volume fraction from 0% (amorphous) to 100% (nanocrystalline metal). The analysis model used in this research contains 32 nano-scaled crystal-particles with random orientation in a unit cell. It became clear that the Young's modulus of the nano-composite is increased as the average particle radius and the crystal volume fraction increase. On the other hand, the flow stress is not affected by the particle size when the crystal volume fraction is lower than 60%. The particle size effects appear gradually for higher crystal volume fraction models. This phenomenon is caused by an increase of the fraction of the grain boundary to the entire interface. We also demonstrate that the elastic constants can be estimated with a higher accuracy by employing a self-consistent compliance model based on the equivalent inclusion method. The Lennard-Jones potential, modified to enforce the continuity at the cut off distance, was used as an interatomic potential. The potential parametes were defined based on Inoue's three basic principles.

Software development environment has been changing into new development paradigms such as concurrent distributed development environment and the so-called open source project by using network computing technologies. In case of considering the effect of the debugging process on an entire system in the development of a method of reliability assessment for open source project, it is necessary to grasp the deeply-intertwined factors, such as programming path, size of each component, skill of fault reporter, and so on. In order to consider the effect of each software component on the reliability of an entire system under such new distributed development paradigm, we propose a new approach to software reliability assessment by creating a fusion of neural network and software reliability growth model. In this paper, we show application examples of software reliability assessment based on neural network and software reliability growth model for open source software. Also, we analyze actual software fault count data to show numerical examples of software reliability assessment for the open source software. Then, we consider the efficiency and effectiveness of the software reliability assessment method for the actual open source software.
