This study uses modern sequencing technology and large biological databases to investigate the molecular intricacies of complicated diseases like cancer. Using gene expression databases and biomarkers, the research aims to improve breast cancer molecular subtype identification for better patient outcomes. Using BRCA LumAB_Her2Basal dataset, this study compares an integrative machine learning-based strategy (GediNET) to traditional feature selection approaches across machine learning classifiers. GediNET excels at uncovering crucial disease-disease connections and potential biomarkers using the Grouping-Scoring-Modeling (GSM) approach, which favors gene groupings above individual genes. Our comparative analysis highlights GediNET’s exceptional performance, notably in terms of accuracy and Area Under the Curve metrics, underscoring its effectiveness in uncovering the genetic intricacies of breast cancer. GediNET’s promise to improve disease classification and biomarker identification by improving biological mechanism understanding goes beyond exceeding traditional approaches. The work shows that GediNET’s integrative method can promote bioinformatics research by identifying the most informative genes associated with certain diseases, enabling focused and customized medicine.

This study aims to increase the number of access users by limiting the sample size to 30 users while ensuring that every Optical Network Unit (ONU) receives data from the Optical Line Terminal (OLT). The proposed solution allows for the determination of power requirements at each ONU based on bus-star topologies, facilitating an increase in user capacity. The power received by each ONU is a critical parameter that system designers must consider when planning the implementation of Fiber to the Home (FTTH), as it impacts the output data in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal Quality Factor (QF) for each user. Various parameters were evaluated to ensure that the enhanced network improves scalability while adhering to standard specifications. These parameters included the Q-factor, BER, eye diagram, user count, and received power. The study employed slicing and duplication techniques, utilizing Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) for signal duplication and Wavelength Division Multiplexing for signal slicing. The simulations were conducted using a transmitter operating at a frequency of 1491 nm with a power output of 0 dBm, utilizing the latest version of OptiSystem 20 software. The results highlighted the system's capability to support a total of 73,728 users, meeting stringent performance criteria. Specifically, the system achieved a Q-factor greater than 6, indicating high signal quality, and a bit error rate (BER) lower than 1 × 10-9, ensuring reliable data transmission. For the sampled 30 users, the average Q factor was 8.1527, and the average BER was 5.3648 × 10^-11, with an output power level of -54.278 dBm. Despite an increase in users, the quality of the data supplied to clients remained unchanged. These outcomes underscore the robustness and efficiency of the design in delivering high-capacity, error-resilient optical communication. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Over the past century, bankruptcy prediction has dominated economics headlines and continues to do so. An efficient way to deal with bankruptcy is to develop models that integrate multiple econometric measures and predicts a company’s financial status. Different methods have been proposed in this domain ranging from statistical algorithms to artificial intelligence models. A novel approach to bankruptcy prediction was proposed in this paper. The novel method incorporates an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) approach for determining key features and optimizing the long short-term memory system for bankruptcy prediction. This paper employs self-learning and multi-learning strategies to develop the cognitive and social learning parts of the PSO algorithm. The PSO algorithm then determines the optimal LSTM parameters. Our final bankruptcy prediction approach combines optimal feature selection with the LSTM model. Therefore, an improved method of feature selection was developed for the LSTM model. The data for evaluation is available in the machine learning repository at the University of California Irvine. We compare our improved model with the ordinary LSTM model, and the results show better performances in all the metrics for the improved LSTM model compared to the other models. © 2023,IAENG International Journal of computer Science. IoT is increasingly being used in different areas of society. IoT is used in society by collecting values acquired by sensor devices through networks and analysing the data. This research aims to improve the efficiency of IoT software and develop an intuitive method for developing IoT *** paper proposes a development methodology that combines a data-flow-based programming approach with a procedural programming language. When the focus is on data, data flow programming is intuitive and efficient. On the other hand, when the focus is on data processing, it is better to use a procedural programming language because data is processed sequentially[1].In the hybrid IoT programming environment proposed in this paper, the code of a procedural programming language is generated from the description by data flow programming, and the program is executed by a micro *** products of this research are available as open source software[2], [3].

In this paper, a new lightweight U-Net deep learning-based neural network designed for the segmentation of skin lesions is proposed. Segmentation of skin lesions is the most critical step in computer-aided dermatology diagnosis for the early detection of melanoma and other diseases. However, we address the difficulty related to the precise definition of the lesion margins with an eye on the computation cost. We have demonstrated the state-of-the-art performance of DeepSkinSeg in most metrics on dermoscopic images using the PH2 and Human Against Machine (HAM10000) datasets. The metrics of the DeepSkinSeg model were robustness measured as the Intersection over Union (IoU) at 91.49, Dice coefficient at 95.56, precision at 97.97, sensitivity at 96.84, and accuracy at 96.71 for the PH2 dataset. Other standard generalization capabilities for the HAM10000 dataset could be an IoU of 92.97, a Dice coefficient of 96.36, precision at 97.64, sensitivity at 95.10, and an accuracy of 94.59. DeepSkinSeg has a very efficient inference because the model itself is lightweight, proving to be very helpful for real-time dermatological analysis. This work further advanced the computer-aided diagnosis in the task of skin lesion classification, guaranteeing even more promising clinical applications. © 2025 The Author(s).

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the criticality of timely intervention in a situation exacerbated by a shortage in medical staff and equipment. Pain-level screening is the initial step toward identifying the severity of patient conditions. Automatic recognition of state and feelings help in identifying patient symptoms to take immediate adequate action and providing a patient-centric medical plan tailored to a patient's state. In this paper, we propose a framework for pain-level detection for deployment in the United Arab Emirates and assess its performance using the most used approaches in the literature. Our results show that a deployment of a pain-level deep learning detection framework is promising in identifying the pain level accurately.

Requirement elicitation (RE) is a cognitively challenging and time-consuming task in software development due to the numerous challenges associated with it including conflicting requirements, unspoken, or assumed requirements, difficulty meeting with relevant stakeholders, stakeholder resistance to change, and not enough time set aside for meetings with all stakeholders. The prime causes of software implementation failure have been identified as inadequacies in the treatment of requirements. Without collecting the quality requirement, cannot achieve the goal of a quality software product. Through identifying the success factors affecting requirement elicitation, the paths to the quality requirements can be identified. The success factors identify through this research are experience, business analyst skills, stakeholder relationship, organizational elicitation process. This study aims to identify the factors affecting requirement elicitation based on the data collected from business analysts and similar positions in the software industry through a survey, interviews, and analyzed data to provide the initial validation for the identified factors. Through the analysis, we identified the main factors affecting successful requirement elicitation with a perfect significance value of less than 0.05 for all factors.

The Plasmodium parasite, which causes malaria, is an acute fever illness that infects people when a female Anopheles mosquito bites them. It is predicted that malaria would claim 619,000 lives in 2021, with 96% of those deaths occurring in the African continent. We can achieve this by using a microscope to examine thick and thin blood smears. The proficiency of a microscope examiner is crucial for doing microscopic examinations. Consider how time-consuming, ineffective, and costly it would be to examine thousands of malaria cases. Consequently, Creating an automated method for detecting malaria parasites is the aim of this study. We employ a MobileNetV2 pretrained model with CNN technology. Because it has been trained on dozens or even millions of data points, this pretrained model is incredibly light but dependable. There are two main benefits of automatic malaria parasite detection: firstly, it can offer a more accurate diagnosis, particularly in locations with limited resources; secondly, it lowers diagnostic expenses. The optimizer utilizes Adam Weight, the criteria uses NLLLoss, and the model is trained using 32 for batch_size. In the fourteenth epoch, we obtained the maximum accuracy score of 96.26% based on the training data. The outcomes of the predictions demonstrate how excellent this score is. EfficienceNet, DenseNet, AlexNet, and other pretrained models are among the alternatives that scientists are advised to try training with.

The prioritized control problem is a process to find a control strategy for a dynamical system with prioritized multiple outputs, so that it can operate outside its nonsingular domain. Singularity typically leads to imperfect inversion in the prioritized control problem, which in turn results in imperfect input-output feedback linearization. In this paper, we propose a method based on the Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov lemma that compensates nonlinear feedback terms caused by the imperfect inversion of the prioritized control problem. In order to realize this idea, we prove existence of a feedback gain matrix that gives a strictly positive real transfer function whose output matrix is identical to the feedback gain matrix. Our proof is constructive so that a set of such matrices can be found. Also, we provide a numerical approach that gives a larger set of feedback gain matrices and validate the result with numerical examples.
