Identification of high safety risks in box girder bridge construction to develop a safety plan for elevated railway projects

Indonesia is active in infrastructure development, especially the railway infrastructure. Currently, there are a lot of elevated railway construction projects and there are many construction accidents in elevated construction. Different construction methods in elevated construction lead to different safety risks. Therefore, it is necessary to identify safety risks, especially high risks. The main objective of this research is to identify high safety risks in box girder construction on elevated railway projects. This research was designed in 3 main stages, starting from risk identification, expert validation, and risk assessment survey. The main variable is the safety risk in box girder construction with launching gantry, heavy shoring, and cast in situ method. The project reviewed is the Double Track (DDT) Railway Project in Jakarta. The result of the analysis shows that there were some high safety risks in box girder construction with launching gantry method, heavy shoring method, and cast in situ method i.e. traffic accident, hit by heavy equipment, fall from a height, struck down by material, wire hanger broke, formwork collapse, heavy shoring collapse, heavy equipment overturned and collapsed and struck down by box girder. The result of this research can be a determinant in the development of good construction safety planning for the next elevated railway project.

This Rembang and Blora Regencies are one of the areas that store natural resources, especially limestone (karst) in Kendeng Mountain. Assessment the condition of the mining area requires the preparation of systematic image data to determine the change data. Remote sensing technology has the ability to observe earth objects in a certain period of time and can be used as a tool to monitor the environmental conditions of the mining *** research methodology broadly includes data collection, raster data, vector, textual, initial processing, field surveys, and image analysis. With the study of remote sensing technology, it is expected to provide fast and accurate information to the Regional Government regarding the consequences of mining activities and directions for mitigation. Landsat-7 satellite image technology and GIS-based Thematic Maps can provide land cover information on the impact of mining activities quickly, but must be supported by the accuracy and data validation resulting from the field *** on these data it can be seen that the exploitation of limestone mining can affect the area of critical land and cause environmental damage, with illustration in the extent of the negative impact from exploitation that has been done. Using the spatio-temporal (analysis) approach, it can be seen how much the forest changes in limestone mining activities for the period 2012-2017 on Kendeng Mountain, Blora - Rembang Regency in relation to the above mentioned features. Spatio-temporal analysis is a method of combining analysis between spatial and multi-time analysis. © 2018 IEEE.

Vehicle type classification method using artificial neural network (ANN) is proposed in this paper. The presented method relies on ANN to recognize between car, motorcycle and non-vehicle images. Extended Haar feature (EHF) was used to extract unique features from motorcycle and car images. These features were used to train four designed ANNs. The focus of this research is to determine the most optimum ANN for future development, which is good in the term of accuracy and speed. The experimental results show that a more complex ANN has a good accuracy but with a slower processing speed. The most optimum ANN gives 94% of accuracy and 51ms of processing speed to classify a single image. © 2018 IEEE.

Missiles are usually difficult to attack a land target or a surface ship that is equipped with a RADAR. Therefore, technology needs to be developed on missiles so that they are not detected by enemy RADAR. One of these technologies is the provision of RADAR absorbing material on missiles. Nickel ferrite is a cheap material that has high permeability, high resistivity, and high magnetic saturation, so it can be used as RADAR absorbing material. Chitosan is a biopolymer that is polycationic or possessing lots of positive charges from the nitrogen group. These polycationic properties tend to classify chitosan into dielectric materials. Materials with high dielectric properties will be able to absorb electromagnetic waves. Nickel ferrite and Chitosan are combined to make a cheap composite and has a prospect to be a RADAR absorbing material on missile.

The Lombok Strait located between Bali Island and Lombok Island, Indonesia. Lombok Strait is complex area because influence by Indonesian Throughflow and influence by Tidal Current. For this case want to research about tidal current circulation and simulated using a three-dimensional baroclinic hydrodynamic numerical modelling method by Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model (FVCOM). The study was simulated during 1-year on 2004, February. The model just simulated by barotropic condition and only influence by elevation tide in open boundary. The verification of ocean current (u and v components) from the model compare with observation data has a high coefficient of determination, i.e., 0.9, respectively. This verification result shows good agreement between model and observation data. For the result model, in the Lombok strait dominant influence by M2 semidiurnal component from Indian Ocean and K1 diurnal component from Pacific Ocean. The current circulation in the near surface dominant movement pattern from southern to northern. On the other hand, for the vertical current in 100 – 600 meter is different with near surface. The current movement from northern to southern. In the sill area have upwelling phenomenon in the north side of the sill and downwelling in south of the sill.

The difficulty in controlling the proper bonding during manufacturing sandwich for ship structure is a major problem. One of the damage types that often occurs is debonding caused by the lack of the adhesive layer bond between the two faceplate materials and the sandwich core at the centre. Furthermore, the identification of damage in ship structure becomes essential to ensure the structural integrity and security issues. Based on the issues above, damage identification on the sandwich plate of Ferry Ro-Ro with several debonding ratios using the k-NN algorithm was proposed. The cross-validation method was used to check the validity of the proposed algorithm model in practice. The proposed models were analyzed with various k-fold values, k-NN values, and number of iterations to investigate the influence of the those parameters on the accuracy of the model. From the result, it can be found that increasing k-fold value is the best strategy to increase the accuracy of the model. However, increase number of neighbors (k) caused a bias so that the accuracy decreased. The tests resulted in the highest accuracy of 97.60% obtained at k-fold 11 with k=3 and 90 iterations. It can be summarized that the large number of k-folds and small k-NN parameters do not require large iterations to obtain high prediction results.

Currently, the utilization of X-ray and Gamma-ray have been widely increased due to their applications such as in the medical (Roentgen, PET, MRI, etc.), industrial and scientific fields. As we know, they have high energy and exposure to X-ray and Gamma-ray will be dangerous for the human body. People who work in the radiation field need protection. In the present work, we have developed glass material for radiation protection. The glass composition was (90-x)TeO2+10ZnF2+xGd2O3 where x is 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 mol%. The glasses were fabricated using the conventional melt and quenching technique. The mixed material was melted at T=1050 0C for 1.5 hours and annealed at T=500 0C for 1.5 hours. Afterwards, they can be treated at room temperature for characterizations including physical, optical, and the simulation of radiation shielding properties. The physical properties of glass consist of density and molar volume. The glass density laid between 4.15 to 4.75 g/cm3 where the glass density increased by increasing Gd2O3 concentration in the glass system. Meanwhile, the molar volume of glass was found between 36.69 to 38.07 cm3/mol where the molar volume decreased with increasing of Gd2O3 content. The radiation shielding parameter such as mass attenuation coefficient (μm) and effective atomic number (Zeff) have been simulated using Photon Shielding and Dosimetry (PSD) software that is available at https://***/PSD. The response of glass material in the energy range of 0.28 – 0.66 MeV has been studied to understand their radiation shielding properties.

Deformation identification using DInSAR multi temporal analysis method in supporting infrastructure development (case study of the area around the nation's new capital)

The relocation of nation's capital is one of the government's flagship programs at this time. The lack of information on soil structures that are prone to deformation can bring an impact on the failure of infrastructure development in the areas of New State Capital (known as Ibu Kota Negara/IKN). Therefore, a significant study is important to find out the deformations that may occur in the region as an initial information in determining the location for safer infrastructure development based on the soil structure conditions in the research area. This research used the Differential Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar (DInSAR) method with a multi-temporal approach to identify the deformations in the research area. The data included SAR images of Sentinel 1A type SLC with C band (5.405 GHz) for the period 2015-2019. The results confirmed that deformation had been identified in several areas, both those experiencing subsidence and uplifting. The maximum subsidence was 12.97 cm at Sepaku district on period 2018-2019 and the maximum uplift was 10.01 cm on period 2017-2018. The identified areas with deformation generally take place in areas with a high density of buildings, construction areas, road infrastructure, and river alluvial deposits.

Measurement analysis of the level of household preparedness for facing landslide in Bogor regency

There are so many areas in Indonesia that are prone to landslides. Bogor is the regency with the most frequent landslides. Therefore, high community preparedness is needed to deal with the landslide, especially at the household level because it is the spearhead of preparedness and influence disaster risk. The objective of this research is to measure and analyze the level of household preparedness for facing landslide. The location of this research is in Cibadak Village, Bogor regency where a landslide disaster had happened. This is a quantitative research. The number of the samples were 100 household. Data collection was done by surveying samples and distributing questionnaires. The data would be analyzed with descriptive analysis, and the results of level of household preparedness would be categorized to five levels which were very prepared (80-100), prepared (65-79), almost prepared (55-64), less prepared (40-54), and not prepared (0-39). The results of the research are the average index value of Knowledge and Attitude (KA) parameter is 66.77, Emergency Planning (EP) parameter is 52.24, Warning System (WS) parameter is 64.80, Resources Mobilization Capacity (RMC) parameter is 51.25 and the level of household preparedness for facing landslide is 59.26 or and it is significant at the almost prepared level.
