With the exploding growth of data, the computational complexity required by learning Support Vector Machine (SVM) lays a heavy burden on real-world applications. To address this issue, parallel computational techniques can be employed such as the Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and MapReduce model. As it is well known, GPUs are microprocessors on a multi-core architecture which reveal high performance in mass data parallel computing, and MapReduce allows computational tasks to be divided into a plurality of parts, distributed to various computing nodes and combined on a single node. In this paper, we propose a GPU-based MapReduce framework to accelerate SVM learning by jointly utilizing the parallel computing power of GPU and MapReduce. Extensive experimental results have verified the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.

A Massive MIMO system is equipped with more antennas than traditional MIMO system. Channel modeling for MIMO system has been well studied. However, study for Massive MIMO system channel modeling has just begun. In this paper, we prove the correctness of the spherical wave assumption and the non-stationary properties on both time and array axes. Then, we propose a novel twin-multi-ring channel model for massive MIMO. This model is based on the extension of a multi-ring model for MIMO. Furthermore, we consider the appearance and disappearance of clusters by “Cluster generation algorithm”. Finally, we make the simple numerical analysis for the model, and we find the characteristic is well matching the measurements.

Link similarity is widely applied in measuring the similarity between objects, e.g., web pages, scientific papers and social networks. However, there are a lot of drawbacks in existing methods of measuring link similarity. In brief, these methods can not handle some semantic-similar content. Moreover, the computation of them are not accurate in some scenes. In this paper, we present a novel method of measuring link similarity called HSim. It introduces the semantic similarity to calculate the similarity between objects, and overcomes the drawback that existing methods ignore the semantic information of objects. We also develop a novel computation function to make the result of similarity more accurate.

Recommender system is an effective way to help users to obtain the personalized and useful information. However, due to complexity and dynamic, the traditional recommender system cannot work well in mobile environment. In this paper, we propose a restaurant recommender system in mobile environment. This recommender system adopts a user preference model by using the features of user's visited restaurants, and also utilizes the location information of user and restaurants to dynamically generate the recommendation results. Baidu map cloud service is used to implement the proposed recommender system. The result of a case study shows that the proposed restaurant recommender system can effectively utilize user's preference and the location information to recommend the personalized and suitable restaurants for different users.

A process for the production of glycerol carbonate(GC) is proposed with the transesterification of glycerol(GL)and dimethyl carbonate(DMC) with CaO as catalyst by reactive distillation and extractive distillation. The performance of solvents in separating DMC-methanol azeotrope and the effects of operation parameters on the reactive distillation process are investigated experimentally. The results indicate that both the GL conversion and GC yield increase with the DMC/GL molar ratio, reflux ratio, final temperature of tower bottom, and CaO/GL molar ratio and decrease as the recycle number of CaO increases. The calcium concentration in the residual reaction mixture also decreases remarkably as the DMC/GL molar ratio increases. At DMC/GL molar ratio 4.0, reflux ratio 1.0, final temperature of tower bottom 358 K, and CaO/GL molar ratio 0.05, both the GL conversion and GC yield can reach above 99.0%, and the mass concentration of calcium in the product is less than 0.08%.
