With the rapid advancement of emerging technologies such as high-throughput sequencing, cryo-electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, and artificial intelligence, our understanding of protein interactions has deepened significantly, leading to an increasing demand for effective data integration. This study tackles the complexity of protein interaction networks and the challenges associated with data integration by employing a top-down approach. It utilizes a protein ontology as the semantic framework, integrates resources from the BioGRID and UniProt databases, and constructs a comprehensive protein-protein interaction knowledge graph (PPIKG). This knowledge graph not only provides an intuitive, graphical interface for visualizing intricate protein interactions but also serves as a centralized platform for downloading protein interaction data. It acts as a one-stop solution for scientists aiming to explore and comprehend the complex landscape of protein interactions. With its user-friendly visualization and efficient download tools, the knowledge graph simplifies the data acquisition process, thereby fostering a deeper, holistic understanding of protein interaction networks among researchers. The evolution of social network and multimedia technologies encourage more and more people to generate and upload visual information, which leads to the generation of large-scale video data. Therefore, preeminent compression technologies are highly desired to facilitate the storage and transmission of these tremendous video data for a wide variety of applications. In this paper, a systematic review of the recent advances for large-scale video compression （LSVC） is presented. Specifically, fast video coding algorithms and effective models to improve video compression efficiency are introduced in detail, since coding complexity and compression efficiency are two important factors to evaluate video coding approaches. Finally, the challenges and fu- ture research trends for LSVC are discussed.

Automatic Web services composition algorithm based on optimal matching

A novel layered method was proposed to solve the problem of Web services *** this method,services composition problem was formally transformed into the optimal matching problem of every layer,then optimal matching problem was modeled based on the hypergraph theory,and solved by computing the minimal transversals of the ***,two optimization algorithms were designed to discard some useless states at the intermediary steps of the composition *** effectiveness of the composition method was tested by a set of experiments,in addition,an example regarding the travel services composition was also *** experimental results show that this method not only can automatically generate composition tree whose leaf nodes correspond to services composition solutions,but also has better performance on execution time and solution quality by adopting two proposed optimization algorithms.

Transactional and QoS-aware selection algorithm for reliable Web service composition

At present, most of the work has focused on Web services composition from the QoS side, little work being done on investigating how to implement service selection based on transactional and QoS requirements. In complicated network environment, composite services need transactional support for correct and reliable execution. Therefore, How to design a composite service to ensure not only correct and reliable execution but also optimal QoS is a challenging issue. This paper addresses the problem of selecting services by aggregating the transactional and QoS requirements. First, we presented global optimization selection algorithms based on two selection models of composite service with transactional requirements. Then, a heuristic selection algorithm is presented to select an approximately optimal transactional composite service within a reasonable time. Lastly, experiments are conducted to analyze the performance of our proposed algorithms. © 2012 Binary Information Press.

This paper will present an obstacle detection approach that relies on the three-dimensional information from stereo vision. Concerning real-time response of the system and high accuracy of the reconstructed points, instead of the traditional stereo matching, a new way that combines three-dimensional features with wavelet-based hierarchical technique is proposed to decrease the computational cost and maintain its credibility. The matched points are selected for grouping into objects, based on neighborhood criteria, depth distance and the point density. Our system is able to reliably detect the far distance moving objects and function in real time. ©2009 IEEE.

When the high occlusion occurs in crowded scene, face detection is a better substitute for detecting pedestrian. In this paper, we present a novel crowd analysis method based on discriminative descriptor of faces and support vector machine SVM ensemble. Through manipulating the input features in the same sample set, the different input features of faces are extracted to train two SVM classifiers. The classification scores of two generated classifiers are combined adaptively to make a collective decision. The first SVM, as the principal classifier gives out most of face hypotheses, while the second SVM serves as secondary one to rejecting the false positive. We present experiment to test the proposed method in crowded subway video, and the result shows that the SVM ensemble outperforms the single SVM in counting the pedestrian. ©2009 IEEE.

Statistical background subtraction has proved to be a robust and effective approach for segmenting and extracting objects without any prior information of the foreground objects. This paper presents two contributions on this topic. The first contribution of this paper proposes a novel approach which introduces the motion mask into the Gaussian Mixture Models to reduce the errors of classical GMMs, which always classifies the moving objects as background incorrectly, and affects the accuracy of the steps followed by, when the objects are still in long periods. The second contribution regards the connected component labeling based on the contour tracking algorithm. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2010 IEEE.

5 G for Railways (5G-R) is globally recognized as a promising next-generation railway communication system designed to meet increasing demands. Channel modeling serves as foundation for communication system design, with tapped delay line (TDL) models widely utilized in system simulations due to their simplicity and practicality and serves as a crucial component of various standards like 3GPP. However, existing TDL models applicable to 5G-R systems are limited. Most fail to capture non-stationarity, a critical characteristic of railway communications, while others are unsuitable for the specific frequency bands and bandwidths of 5G-R. In this paper, a channel measurement campaign for 5G-R dedicated network is carried out, resulting in a measurement-based 5-tap TDL model utilizing a first-order two-state Markov chain to represent channel non-stationarity. key model parameters, including number of taps, statistical distribution of amplitude, phase and Doppler shift, and state transition probability matrix, are extracted. The correlation between tap amplitudes is also obtained. Finally, the accuracy of model is validated through comparisons with measurement data and 3GPP model. These findings are expected to offer valuable insights for design and link-level simulation of 5G-R systems. © 2025 IEEE.

An optimized Apriori algorithm based on sparse matrix for intrusion detection

The original Apriori algorithm is widely used in the intrusion detection field, but it may consume incredible computing resources in the process of handling network packets. We propose our optimized-Apriori algorithm which can greatly improves the algorithm efficiency by means of reducing the data storage space and the number of frequent item sets. We take full advantage of the characteristics of sparse matrix to save storage space and shorten the running time. The experimental results show that our optimized-Apriori algorithm can make a larger progress in saving the storage space of network data to be processed, even shortening nearly half of the data mining time in the process of intrusion detection. © Zeng et al.
