The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

HiCoCS: High Concurrency Cross-Sharding on Permissioned Blockchains

As the foundation of the Web3 trust system, blockchain technology faces increasing demands for scalability. Sharding emerges as a promising solution, but it struggles to handle highly concurrent cross-shard transactions (CSTxs), primarily due to simultaneous ledger operations on the same account. Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned blockchain, employs multi-version concurrency control for parallel processing. Existing solutions use channels and intermediaries to achieve cross-sharding in Hyperledger Fabric. However, the conflict problem caused by highly concurrent CSTxs has not been adequately resolved. To fill this gap, we propose HiCoCS, a high concurrency cross-shard scheme for permissioned blockchains. HiCoCS creates a unique virtual sub-broker for each CSTx by introducing a composite key structure, enabling conflict-free concurrent transaction processing while reducing resource overhead. The challenge lies in managing large numbers of composite keys and mitigating intermediary privacy risks. HiCoCS utilizes virtual sub-brokers to receive and process CSTxs concurrently while maintaining a transaction pool. Batch processing is employed to merge multiple CSTxs in the pool, improving efficiency. We explore composite key reuse to reduce the number of virtual sub-brokers and lower system overhead. Privacy preservation is enhanced using homomorphic encryption. Evaluations show that HiCoCS improves cross-shard transaction throughput by 3.5-20.2 times compared to the baselines. © 1968-2012 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) faces significant challenges in scenarios with non-IID (non-independent and identically distributed) data distributions across participating clients. Traditional aggregation-based approaches often struggle with the inherent misalignment between local and global optimization objectives, leadingwhich leads to gradient divergence and suboptimal generalization performance. This paper proposes a novel FL framework that replaces conventional aggregation with a biologically inspired model symbiosis approach called FedSym, which employs a dual-level symbiotic mechanism. Ectosymbiosis performs coarse-grained hierarchical parameter recombinations through random layer-wise model combination, while endosymbiosis enables fine-grained intra-layer parameter fusion through weighted averaging, collectively steering model updates towards flatter loss landscapes. Our theoretical analysis demonstrates that FedSym's convergence rate is O(1T) under non-IID conditions, which matches the convergence properties of FedAvg. Extensive experimentsevaluations across multiple datasets and model architectures show that FedSym achieves substantial improvements over state-of-the-art FL methods, particularly in challenging scenarios with high data heterogeneity, and demonstrates robust performance across varying numbers of participating clients and federation scales. © 2014 IEEE.

An Encoder-Decoder Model Based On Spiking Neural Networks For Address Event Representation Object Recognition

Address event representation (AER) object recognition task has attracted extensive attention in neuromorphic vision processing. The spike-based and event-driven computation inherent in the spiking neural network (SNN) provides an energy-saving solution for AER object recognition. However, SNN with spike timing dependent plasticity (STDP) learning rule has not achieved satisfying AER object recognition performance. This work proposes an SNN-based encoder-decoder model to improve the recognition performance of AER objects. An STDP-based locally connected spiking neural network (LC-SNN) is proposed as an encoder to extract rich spatiotemporal features from AER event flows more flexibly. After the encoder extracts and learns primary features, we propose a fully connected spiking neural network (FC-SNN) based on the reward-modulated spike-timing-dependent plasticity (R-STDP) learning rule as a decoder to learn higher-level features for classification. In addition, we improved the winner-take-all (WTA) mechanisms and R-STDP learning rule in the decoder based on the reward and punish decision, enabling the network to perform better. The experiments are performed on the N-MNIST, MNIST-DVS, and the DVS Gesture datasets, improving the accuracy of the best existing plasticity-based SNN by 0.19%, 0.27% and 1.35%, respectively. © 2016 IEEE.

Improved CNP-Based Task Allocation for Large-Scale UAVs with Timing Constraints

For task allocation for multiple uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) with time -series constraints, a time sequence task allocation method based on an improved contract net protocol (CNP) algorithm is proposed considering the influence of task requirements, timing constraints, and execution time of tasks. A novel reward function with time discounting was designed, and the optimization model of time-series task allocation was established with the goal of maximizing the reward of task execution. To adapt to the requirements of task execution time and multi-UAV cooperation, three stages - task release, bidding, and winning of the contract network protocol algorithm - are improved. Then the improved algorithm is used to solve the problem and the optimal task execution sequence is generated for each UAV. Simulation results verified the effectiveness and real-time performance of the proposed method, which can execute all the tasks in less time according to the timing requirements. © 2025 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Accurately identifying real anomalies and pseudo-anomalies in complex multi-dimensional time series data has been a difficult problem in time series anomaly detection. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new framework, STAD, that joint temporal and spatial dimensions. This framework guides the model to capture the correlation information between channels It also aims to learn the deep feature representation of sequences by mining potential information in the spatialtemporal dimension. It can effectively distinguish between true and false anomalies by comparing information from spatial and temporal dimensions. STAD identifies and integrates correlated channels by using a correlation aggregation mechanism to join multiple channels and detect *** addition, the KAN mixer designed in this paper can effectively extract features from different spatial locations in the spatial-temporal dimension. Through extensive experiments on several public datasets, STAD demonstrates its superiority in terms of accuracy and robustness.

Camera-Invariant Meta-Learning Network for Single-Camera-Training Person Re-Identification

Single-camera-training person re-identification (SCT re-ID) aims to train a re-ID model using SCT datasets where each person appears in only one camera. The main challenge of SCT re-ID is to learn camera-invariant feature representations without cross-camera same-person (CCSP) data as supervision. Previous methods address it by assuming that the most similar person should be found in another camera. However, this assumption is not guaranteed to be correct. In this paper, we propose a novel solution: the Camera-Invariant Meta-Learning Network (CIMN) for SCT re-ID. CIMN operates under the premise that camera-invariant feature representations should remain robust despite changes in camera settings. To achieve this, we partition the training data into a meta-train set and a meta-test set based on camera IDs. We then conduct a cross-camera simulation using a meta-learning strategy, aiming to enforce the feature representations learned from the meta-train set to be robust when applied to the meta-test set. We further introduce three specific loss functions to leverage potential identity relations between the meta-train set and the meta-test set. Through the cross-camera simulation and the introduced loss functions, CIMN can extract feature representations that are both camera-invariant and identity-discriminative even in the absence of CCSP data. Our experimental results demonstrate that CIMN can extract feature representations that are both camera-invariant and identity-discriminative, even in the absence of CCSP data. our method achieves comparable performance with and without the use of CCSP data, and outperforms state-of-the-art methods on three SCT re-ID benchmarks. © 2014 IEEE.

Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. Remote State Estimation for Complex Networks Under Probabilistic Bit Flips: A Transmission Power Allocation Scheme

In this paper, the problem of remote state estimation is investigated for a class of complex networks with noisy wireless communication channels. The employment of the binary encoding scheme allows for the description of the influence of channel noises as probabilistic bit flips, where the probability of these bit flips is influenced by several factors with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) being a crucial one. In engineering practice, the method of adjusting the transmission power for each node in a complex network is commonly applied to modify the SNR so as to reduce the data distortion caused by bit flips. Furthermore, due to restricted communication resources, the total available transmission power is often limited particularly in large-scale systems such as complex networks. Consequently, the allocation of transmission power for all nodes under a total transmission power constraint becomes a concern. Utilizing the ultimately bounded filtering method, we devise a transmission-power-dependent state estimator, by which the combined effect of probabilistic bit flips and transmission power allocation on estimation performance is analyzed. Moreover, the task of co-designing the transmission power allocation scheme and estimator gains is modeled as an optimization problem, which is then addressed through a two-step optimization strategy. The existence of a unique optimal transmission power allocation scheme is also proven. Finally, numerical simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed co-design approach. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

A detection model for dust deposition on photovoltaic (PV) panels based on light transmittance estimation

Dust deposition on photovoltaic (PV) panels significantly reduces light transmittance and power conversion efficiency. Therefore, real-time dust detection systems are crucial for proactive cleaning and maintenance to improve light absorption and the operational efficiency of PV systems. This paper developed an end-to-end PV dust detection model, DVNET, based on light transmittance estimation. The model quantifies the dust density on PV panels using image processing to estimate light transmittance and determine optimal cleaning strategies. The DVNET architecture captures the mapping relationship between light transmittance and dust density. The model calculates the light transmittance of dusty images, enabling a quantitative assessment of dust deposition. Images are acquired and preprocessed to eliminate noise and irrelevant information and obtain optimal model training conditions. Experiments are conducted to evaluate model performance. The results indicate that the proposed model accurately estimates light transmittance using images of PV panels and generates transmittance maps to visualize the dust distribution on the panel surfaces. DVNET outperforms five benchmark models, achieving the lowest mean square error (MSE) of 0.00044. The performances of the squeeze-and-excitation block (SEBlock) module, the convolutional block attention module (CBAM), and the multiply-add-combine (MAC) attention mechanism are evaluated. The experimentally determined relative error (RE) is below 0.03 for uniform and non-uniform transmittance. The observed and predicted correlations between dust deposition and transmittance are highly similar for PV panels with different dust densities, demonstrating the model's applicability in real-world scenarios. The experiment demonstrated that the DVNET model exhibits low computational resource consumption, fast training time, as well as remarkable scalability and computational performance on large-scale datasets. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd
