This paper introduces a regularization method called Correlative Filter (CF) for Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), which takes advantage of the relevance between the convolutional kernels belonging to the same convolutional layer. During the process of training with the proposed CF method, several pairs of filters are designed in a manner of randomness to contain opposite weights in low-level layers. Regarding higher level layers where synthetical features are processed, the relation between correlative filters is explored as translation of various directions. The proposed CF method attempts to optimize the inner structure of convolutional layers and it can work jointly with other regularization techniques, such as stochastic pooling, Dropout, etc. The experimental results on the competitive image classification benchmark dataset CIFAR-10 demonstrates the performance of the proposed CF method, additionally, it is also verified that the proposed CF method is wonderful to be employed to enhance several state-of-the-art regularization models.

Sequential end-to-end network for efficient person search

Person search aims at jointly solving Person Detection and Person Re-identification (re-ID). Existing works have designed end-to-end networks based on Faster R-CNN. However, due to the parallel structure of Faster R-CNN, the extracted features come from the low-quality proposals generated by the Region Proposal Network, rather than the detected high-quality bounding boxes. Person search is a fine-grained task and such inferior features will significantly reduce re-ID performance. To address this issue, we propose a Sequential End-to-end Network (SeqNet) to extract superior features. In SeqNet, detection and re-ID are considered as a progressive process and tackled with two sub-networks sequentially. In addition, we design a robust Context Bipartite Graph Matching (CBGM) algorithm to effectively employ context information as an important complementary cue for person matching. Extensive experiments on two widely used person search benchmarks, CUHK-SYSU and PRW, have shown that our method achieves state-of-the-art results. Also, our model runs at 11.5 fps on a single GPU and can be integrated into the existing end-to-end framework easily. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Internet finance fraud is an increasingly serious social and economic problem. Online payment services (OPSs) are the typical models of Internet finance, and the fraudulent transaction in OPSs is also a typical fraud pattern. The method of identifying fraudulent transactions by constructing a fraud detection model based on machine learning has become a promising idea for online payment anti-fraud. In the process of constructing fraud detection models, the feature engineering is the most critical step. It is also one of the most time-consuming and specialized steps in the relevant area. In the study of feature engineering, the existing online payment fraud detection models are mainly carried out by experts in the form of manual construction based on business knowledge. However, there are many fraud scenarios in OPSs where the process of feature construction is so different. Artificial feature construction methods can no longer meet the increasing demand of anti-fraud. An important way to solve this problem is to automate feature engineering. In the field of Internet financial anti-fraud, the expressibility and interpretability of features play a pivotal role. It is helpful to understand the original source fields and their construction process of important features. This is useful for mining and analyzing the characteristics of fraud methods and follow-up improvement rules engines. These are of great significance for fraud detection models. Therefore, the interpretability of the model method is particularly important. Usually, the optimization of detection accuracy is carried out under the premise of ensuring interpretability. This paper proposed a lightweight, tree-structure, high efficiency and scalable automatic feature engineering method for fraud detection of online payment. The rapid growth of electronic commerce brings convenience to modern life but comes with security risks by various cybercrimes in online payment services. Most existing security methods for fraud detection depend on the static learning paradigm, which trains a model over a static training dataset and deploys the trained model for inference with the frozen model parameters under the i.i.d. assumption. Unfortunately, this paradigm becomes incommensurate with the increasingly complicated and varying fraud patterns due to the untimely and delayed responses in the offline environment. Without sensing the evolution of fraud timely, it is challenging to train and deploy targeted countermeasures. The emerging means of fraud are not only reflected in the openness of their category, but also in the drift of their superimposed risk features. The interweaving of open-category and concept drift accelerates the process of existing methods becoming powerless. In this paper, we propose EvoFD, an online evolving fraud detection framework to enable continual learning to cope with undercurrent surges of evolving fraud. The core idea of EvoFD is to weaken the bias caused by the anchoring effect on the learned information. It learns in an online streaming fashion by using instructive representations as anchors. Specially, we maintain the progressively updatable class anchors and optimize the representation network to embed features and class anchors into a unified normalized space, where the training and predicting can be conducted simultaneously or independently. In the framework, we preserve the balanced replay memory for each class to accumulate knowledge and avoid forgetting. The advantages of our method are validated by extensive experiments over the real-world dataset from a prestigious bank.

service selection is an essential issue in service discovery based on Web service clusters. The ratio of trust value to price is introduced to select the most suitable service in a cluster. The method of computing the initial trust, the direct trust and the recommendation trust are, respectively presented and the overall trust is derived based on them. Logical workow nets (LWNs) provide a good tool for modeling business systems with passing value indeterminacy and batch processing function. However, complicated business processes modeling is a hard work. And thus, to facilitate modeling complex systems, the substitution operations of LWNs in this study are proposed. Substitution operations for control places and ordinary transitions of LWNs are presented and properties of substitution of LWNs are analyzed. The structure, boundedness and liveness of LWNs can be preserved after substitution. Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press.

The deep two-stream architecture [23] exhibited excellent performance on video based action recognition. The most computationally expensive step in this approach comes from the calculation of optical flow which prevents it to be real-time. This paper accelerates this architecture by replacing optical flow with motion vector which can be obtained directly from compressed videos without extra calculation. However, motion vector lacks fine structures, and contains noisy and inaccurate motion patterns, leading to the evident degradation of recognition performance. Our key insight for relieving this problem is that optical flow and motion vector are inherent correlated. Transferring the knowledge learned with optical flow CNN to motion vector CNN can significantly boost the performance of the latter. Specifically, we introduce three strategies for this, initialization transfer, supervision transfer and their combination. Experimental results show that our method achieves comparable recognition performance to the state-of-the-art, while our method can process 390.7 frames per second, which is 27 times faster than the original two-stream method.

This work presents an iterative liveness-enforcing method for a class of generalized Petri nets, which can model flexible manufacturing systems. The proposed method checks the liveness of net models using mixed integer programming and controls the token allocations of resource places instead of siphons using a liveness and resource usage ratio-enforcing supervisor. The enumeration of a kind of special structures, which is required in the previous work, is avoided and the number of iterations is bounded by the number of shared resource places in the net model. All strict minimal siphons in the controlled systems are minimally controlled. Several explanatory examples are used to illustrate this method. © 2012 IEEE.

Recently, the bias-related issues in GNN-based link prediction have raised widely spread concerns. In this paper, we emphasize the bias on links across different node clusters, which we call cross-links, after considering its significance in both easing information cocoons and preserving graph connectivity. Instead of following the objective-oriented mechanism in prior works with compromised utility, we empirically find that existing GNN models face severe data bias between internal-links (links within the same cluster) and cross-links, and this inspires us to rethink the bias issue on cross-links from a data perspective. Specifically, we design a simple yet effective twin-structure framework, which can be easily applied to most GNNs to mitigate the bias as well as boost their utility in an end-to-end manner. The basic idea is to generate debiased node embeddings as demonstrations and fuse them into the embeddings of original GNNs. In particular, we learn debiased node embeddings with the help of augmented supervision signals, and a novel dynamic training strategy is designed to effectively fuse debiased node embeddings with the original node embeddings. Experiments on three datasets with six common GNNs show that our framework can not only alleviate the bias between internal-links and cross-links but also boost the overall accuracy. Comparisons with other state-of-the-art methods also verify the superiority of our method.
