Workload prediction is critical in enabling proactive resource management of cloud *** workload prediction is valuable for cloud users and providers as it can effectively guide many practices,such as performance assurance,cost reduction,and energy consumption ***,cloud workload prediction is highly challenging due to the complexity and dynamics of workloads,and various solutions have been proposed to enhance the prediction *** paper aims to provide an in-depth understanding and categorization of existing solutions through extensive literature *** existing surveys,for the first time,we comprehensively sort out and analyze the development landscape of workload prediction from a new perspective,i.e.,application-oriented rather than prediction methodologies per ***,we first introduce the basic features of workload prediction,and then analyze and categorize existing efforts based on two significant characteristics of cloud applications:variability and ***,we also investigate how workload prediction is applied to resource ***,open research opportunities in workload prediction are highlighted to foster further advancements.

FMR-GNet: Forward Mix-Hop Spatial-Temporal Residual Graph Network for 3D Pose Estimation

Graph convolutional networks that leverage spatial-temporal information from skeletal data have emerged as a popular approach for 3D human pose estimation. However, comprehensively modeling consistent spatialtemporal dependencies among the body joints remains a challenging task. Current approaches are limited by performing graph convolutions solely on immediate neighbors, deploying separate spatial or temporal modules, and utilizing single-pass feedforward architectures. To solve these limitations, we propose a forward multi-scale residual graph convolutional network(FMR-GNet) for 3D pose estimation from monocular video. First, we introduce a mix-hop spatialtemporal attention graph convolution layer that effectively aggregates neighboring features with learnable weights over large receptive fields. The attention mechanism enables dynamically computing edge weights at each layer. Second,we devise a cross-domain spatial-temporal residual module to fuse multi-scale spatial-temporal convolutional features through residual connections, explicitly modeling interdependencies across spatial and temporal domains. Third, we integrate a forward dense connection block to propagate spatial-temporal representations across network layers, enabling high-level semantic skeleton information to enrich lower-level features. Comprehensive experiments conducted on two challenging 3D human pose estimation benchmarks, namely Human3.6M and MPI-INF-3DHP, demonstrate that the proposed FMR-GNet achieves superior performance, surpassing the most state-of-the-art methods.

In local differential privacy(LDP), a challenging problem is the ability to generate highdimensional data while efficiently capturing the correlation between attributes in a dataset. Existing solutions for low-dimensional data synthesis, which partition the privacy budget among all attributes, cease to be effective in high-dimensional scenarios due to the large-scale noise and communication cost caused by the high dimension. In fact, the high-dimensional characteristics not only bring challenges but also make it possible to apply some technologies to break this bottleneck. This paper presents Sam Priv Syn for high-dimensional data synthesis under LDP, which is composed of a marginal sampling module and a data generation *** marginal sampling module is used to sample from the original data to obtain two-way marginals. The sampling process is based on mutual information, which is updated iteratively to retain, as much as possible,the correlation between attributes. The data generation module is used to reconstruct the synthetic dataset from the sampled two-way marginals. Furthermore, this study conducted comparison experiments on the real-world datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method, with results proving that Sam PrivSyn can not only protect privacy but also retain the correlation information between the attributes.

Accurate long-term traffic forecasting is crucial for urban traffic management and planning. Existing methods focus mainly on short-term predictions and struggle with long-term spatial-temporal dependencies due to computational complexities. We propose a Spatial-Temporal Multi-View Graph Transformer (STMGT) based on spatial-temporal sequence decomposition. STMGT enhances long-term forecasting by decomposing traffic sequences into temporal position embeddings, periodicity-trend features, and residual components. This approach captures long-term correlations while managing computational cost by dividing data into multiple time blocks. A multi-head graph attention mechanism is used to explore dynamic spatial correlations. Experimental results on real-world datasets show that STMGT significantly outperforms baseline models, proving it effective for long-term traffic prediction. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Current semi-supervised learning-based sample selection methods for noisy label image classification typically utilize all clean and noisy samples for model training. However, not all noisy samples contribute positively to model training. This paper introduces a novel semi-supervised image data granulation method that employs adaptively generated granular noisy sample subsets in place of the original noisy samples to enhance classification efficiency. The granular data generated retain the essential features of the original data, thereby improving efficiency without compromising classification accuracy. The quality of the granular data is assessed using coverage and specificity criteria, standard metrics for evaluating information granules. The proposed method consists of three main components: (i)selecting clean and noisy samples through network co-training, (ii)calculating granular noisy sample subsets by adaptive granulation, and (iii)optimizing the network model using a semi-supervised strategy. Experimental results on benchmark datasets with varying noise rates demonstrate that our method significantly improves the efficiency of noisy label image classification while maintaining accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Predictive Business Process Monitoring(PBPM)is a significant research area in Business Process Management(BPM)aimed at accurately forecasting future behavioral *** present,deep learning methods are widely cited in PBPM research,but no method has been effective in fusing data information into the control flow for multi-perspective process ***,this paper proposes a process prediction method based on the hierarchical BERT and multi-perspective data ***,the first layer BERT network learns the correlations between different category attribute ***,the attribute data is integrated into a weighted event-level feature vector and input into the second layer BERT network to learn the impact and priority relationship of each event on future predicted ***,the multi-head attention mechanism within the framework is visualized for analysis,helping to understand the decision-making logic of the framework and providing visual ***,experimental results show that the predictive accuracy of the framework surpasses the current state-of-the-art research methods and significantly enhances the predictive performance of BPM.

3DGCformer: 3-Dimensional Graph Convolutional transformer for multi-step origin–destination matrix forecasting

Forecasting Human mobility is of great significance in the simulation and control of infectious diseases like COVID-19. To get a clear picture of potential future outbreaks, it is necessary to forecast multi-step Origin–Destination (OD) matrices for a relatively long period in the future. However, multi-step Origin–Destination Matrix Forecasting (ODMF) is a non-trivial problem. First, previous ODMF models only forecast the OD matrix for the next time-step, and they cannot perform well on long-term multi-step forecasts due to error accumulation. Second, many ODMF methods capture spatial and temporal dependencies with separate modules, which is insufficient to model spatio-temporal correlations in the time-varying OD matrix sequence. To address the challenges in multi-step ODMF, we propose 3-Dimensional Graph Convolutional Transformer (3DGCformer). As an enhancement of the original 3DGCN, we propose a novel Origin–Destination Feature Propagation (ODFP) rule between 3DGCN layers and integrate 2 3DGCNs with different spatio-temporal graphs and corresponding feature propagation rules to model the formation of OD flows in a more comprehensive way. For multi-step forecasts, 3DGCformer uses Transformer to capture long-term global temporal dependency, and adapt its decoder using labeled tokens to avoid error accumulation and improve time efficiency. To avoid information loss as the number of regions increases, we propose a patch embedding approach to convert data from 3DGCNs to the Transformer module. We perform extensive experiments on 4 real-world human mobility datasets, and the results show that our proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Evolving data streams containing concept drift breaks the assumption that data are independent and identically distributed (IID) in traditional machine learning models. A series of ensemble-based models have been adapted to data stream learning tasks due to the abilities of dynamic partially update and cooperate with drift detection methods. Adaptive Random Forests (ARF), one of the state-of-the-art in the stream setting, encounters high resource requirements in both efficiency and memory like all ensemble methods. We are committed to reducing running cost without compromising ARF’s performance. In this paper, we propose the Adaptive Random Forest with Dynamic Detectors (ARFDD) which utilizes diversity measurement to combine homogeneous detectors and split heterogeneous ones accordingly, leads to lower computing costs and thus speed up in applications. Experiments on all 8 synthetic and 4 real datasets show a great CPU-time thrift while avoiding performance degradation. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
