Generative Artificial Intelligence(GAI)is attracting the increasing attention of materials community for its excellent capability of generating required *** the introduction of Prompt paradigm and reinforcement learning from human feedback(RLHF),GAI shifts from the task-specific to general pattern gradually,enabling to tackle multiple complicated tasks involved in resolving the structure-activity ***,we review the development status of GAI comprehensively and analyze pros and cons of various generative models in the view of *** applications of task-specific generative models involving materials inverse design and data augmentation are also *** ChatGPT as an example,we explore the potential applications of general GAI in generating multiple materials content,solving differential equation as well as querying materials ***,we summarize six challenges encountered for the use of GAI in materials science and provide the corresponding *** work paves the way for providing effective and explainable materials data generation and analysis approaches to accelerate the materials research and development.

Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG)-based blockchain (a.k.a distributed ledger) has become prevalent for supporting highly concurrent applications. Its inherent parallel data structure accelerates block generation significantly, shifting the bottleneck from performance to storage scalability. An intuitive solution is to apply state sharding that divides the entire ledger (i.e., transactions and states) into multiple shards. While each node only stores proportional transactions, it suffers from the challenges of storing and ensuring the processing consistency of cross-shard transactions. In this paper, we propose SharDAG, a new mechanism that leverages adaptive sharding for DAG-based blockchains to achieve high performance and strong consistency. The key idea of SharDAG is to exploit unique characteristics - silent assets - and design a lightweight processing mechanism based on avatar account caching. Furthermore, we design a Byzantine resilient cross-shard verification mechanism with a theoretically optimal number of participating nodes, which guarantees the consistency and security of avatar account aggregation. Our comprehensive evaluations on real-world workloads demonstrate that SharDAG presents up to 3.8 x throughput improvement compared to the state-of-the-art and reduces the storage overhead of cross-shard transactions.

5G terminal access denial-of-service attack is one of the more common types of 5G signaling network attacks. It manifests itself as a large number of abnormal access requests occupying core network resources. Normal requests cannot obtain resources, resulting in unstable network services, and users will be unable to connect or drop connections, eventually leading to frequent terminal takeoffs and landings. This paper proposes a formal modeling scheme for a 5G terminal access denial-of-service attack. The attack principle is analyzed, a defense scheme is designed and modeled, and analyzed, and then quantitative experiments are conducted, and the experimental results show the effectiveness of the defense scheme. © 2023 IEEE.

ACDR-CRAFF Net: A Multi-Scale Network Based on Adaptive Channel and Coordinate Relational Attention Network for Remote Sensing Scene Classification

Accurate classification of remote sensing scene images is crucial for diverse applications, from environmental monitoring to urban planning. While convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have dramatically improved classification accuracy, challenges remain due to the complex distribution of small objects, varied spatial configurations, and intra-class multimodality in remote sensing images. In this work, we make three key contributions to address these challenges. (1) We propose the adaptive channel and coordinate relational attention network (ACDR-CRAFF), a novel multi-scale feature fusion framework designed to enhance feature representation across scales. (2) We introduce two innovative modules: the adaptive channel dimensionality reduction (ACDR) module, which dynamically adjusts channel representations to retain essential low-dimensional features, and the coordinate relational attention multi-scale feature fusion (CRAFF) module, which effectively captures and transfers spatial information between feature levels. (3) By integrating ACDR and CRAFF, our model achieves a progressive fusion of local to global features, ensuring robust feature expressiveness at multiple scales. Experimental results on four widely used benchmark datasets demonstrate that ACDR-CRAFF consistently outperforms several state-of-the-art methods, achieving significant improvements in classification accuracy and setting a new benchmark for complex remote sensing scene classification tasks. These results underscore the effectiveness of our approach in addressing the limitations of existing methods and advancing the state of the art in remote sensing image analysis. © 2025 The Author(s). A growing number of applications are moving to serverless architectures for high elasticity and fine-grained billing. For stateful applications, however, the use of serverless architectures is likely to lead to significant performance degradation, as frequent data sharing between different execution stages involves time-consuming remote storage access. Current platforms leverage memory cache to speed up remote access. However, conventional caching strategies show limited performance improvement. We experimentally find that the reason is that current strategies overlook the stage-dependent access patterns of stateful serverless applications, i.e., data that are read multiple times across stages (denoted as multi-read data) are wrongly evicted by data that are read only once (denoted as read-once data), causing a high cache miss ***, we propose a new caching strategy, Duo, whose design principle is to cache multi-read data as long as possible. Specifically, Duo contains a large cache list and a small cache list, which act as Leader list and Wingman list, respectively. Leader list ignores the data that is read for the first time to prevent itself from being polluted by massive read-once data at each stage. Wingman list inspects the data that are ignored or evicted by Leader list, and pre-fetches the data that will probably be read again based on the observation that multi-read data usually appear periodically in groups. Compared to the state-of-the-art works, Duo improves hit ratio by 1.1×-2.1× and reduces the data sharing overhead by 25%-62%.

It is difficult to train a trustworthy transformer model on a small image classification dataset. This research proposes a sophisticated structured knowledge distillation algorithm that uses CNNs as Transformer's sophisticated teachers, significantly lowering the number of training datasets needed. To better to develop the potential for CNN tutors, this research configures a public data set for CNN teaching as an enlightenment textbook to guide Transformer's training and avoid falling into local optimization prematurely. The distillation process then employs a 'learn-digest-self-distillation' learning strategy to enable the Transformer to assimilate CNN knowledge in a structured manner. Sufficient experiments show that the proposed method is significantly better than the direct training Transformer under the condition of limited data sets. Moreover, in order to show the practical application value, this research contributed a practical data set for the classification of smoking and calling. Multipath signal recognition is crucial to the ability to provide high-precision absolute-position services by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite system(BDS).However,most existing approaches to this issue involve supervised machine learning(ML)methods,and it is difficult to move to unsupervised multipath signal recognition because of the limitations in signal *** by an autoencoder with powerful unsupervised feature extraction,we propose a new deep learning(DL)model for BDS signal recognition that places a long short-term memory(LSTM)module in series with a convolutional sparse autoencoder to create a new autoencoder ***,we propose to capture the temporal correlations in long-duration BeiDou satellite time-series signals by using the LSTM module to mine the temporal change patterns in the time ***,we develop a convolutional sparse autoencoder method that learns a compressed representation of the input data,which then enables downscaled and unsupervised feature extraction from long-duration BeiDou satellite series ***,we add an l_(1/2) regularizer to the objective function of our DL model to remove redundant neurons from the neural network while ensuring recognition *** tested our proposed approach on a real urban canyon dataset,and the results demonstrated that our algorithm could achieve better classification performance than two ML-based methods(e.g.,11%better than a support vector machine)and two existing DL-based methods(e.g.,7.26%better than convolutional neural networks).

Scalable Optimal Margin Distribution Machine

Optimal margin Distribution Machine (ODM) is a newly proposed statistical learning framework rooting in the latest margin theory, which demonstrates better generalization performance than the traditional large margin based counterparts. However, it suffers from the ubiquitous scalability problem regarding both computation time and memory storage as other kernel methods. This paper proposes a scalable ODM, which can achieve nearly ten times speedup compared to the original ODM training method. For nonlinear kernels, we put forward a novel distribution-aware partition method to make the local ODM trained on each partition be close and converge fast to the global one. When linear kernel is applied, we extend a communication efficient SVRG method to accelerate the training further. Extensive empirical studies validate that our proposed method is highly computational efficient and almost never worsen the generalization. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This article mainly conducts a series of research on the synchronization control of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks. Firstly, a memristive Cohen-Grossberg neural network model with time-varying delay was constructed, and an equivalent system was obtained by combining inverse function theory, differential inclusion, and set-valued mapping. Secondly, a new predefined-time stability theorem was proposed, and sufficient conditions were obtained to ensure that the drive-response system achieves predefined-time synchronization by designing appropriate control strategy. The simulation results show that the stability time of the error system can be adjusted by the user, verifying the correctness and of the theory. © 2023 IEEE.
