With the rapid development of service-oriented computing (SOC) and service-oriented architecture (SOA), the number of services is rapidly increasing. How to organize and manage services effectively in repositories to improve the efficiency of service discovery and composition is important. This paper proposes three categorization rules to classify services for a large scale repository to form a relational taxonomy. The service retrieve scope can be drastically narrowed by this taxonomy. Therefore, the efficiency of service discovery and service composition can be greatly improved. We evaluate and compare the performance of the proposed method and other related ones via a publicly available test set, ICEBE05. The experimental results validate the effectiveness and high efficiency of the proposed one.

A cross-layers service discovery protocol for MANET

With the rapid development of Internet, MANET is becoming a popular network organization. Automatic service discovery plays an important role in the appliance of auto-finding and using the resource in the dynamic network environment, and it also can reduce the complexity of system configuration and maintenance. This paper proposes a new service discovery protocol called SCAODV which integrates route protocol and the process of service discovery. SCAODV protocol is based on CAODV protocol. The NS2 Simulation experiments prove that SCAODV protocol not only achieve route discovery and service discovery, but also decrease control packets efficiently and keep lower delay of service discovery. SCAODV protocol also achieve security certificate based on the symmetric encryption technology between service requester and service replier in the process of service. © 2012 Binary Information Press.

Biometrics is an effective technology for personnel identity recognition, but uni-modal biometric systems which use a single trait for recognition will suffer from problems like noisy sensor data, non-universality, lack of distinctiveness of the biometric trait, and spoof attacks. These problems can be tackled by using multi-biometrics in the system. Hand-based person recognition provides a reliable, low-cost and user-friendly viable solution for a range of access control applications. As one of the most popular biometric traits, fingerprints (FP) are widely used in personal recognition. However, a novel hand-based biometric feature, Finger-Knuckle-Print (FKP), has attracted an increasing amount of attention. In this paper, FP and FKP are integrated in order to construct an efficient multi-biometric recognition system based on matching score level and image level fusion. In this study we use the minimum average correlation energy (MACE) and Unconstrained MACE (UMACE) filters in conjunction with two correlation plane performance measures, max peak value and peak-to-sidelobe ratio, to determine the effectiveness of this method. The experimental results showed that the designed system achieves an excellent recognition rate on the Hong Kong polytechnic university (PolyU) FKP and high resolution fingerprint database.

Virtual resource monitoring in cloud computing

Cloud computing is a new computing model. The resource monitoring tools are immature compared to traditional distributed computing and grid computing. In order to better monitor the virtual resource in cloud computing, a periodically and event-driven push （PEP） monitoring model is proposed. Taking advantage of the push and event-driven mechanism, the model can provide comparatively adequate information about usage and status of the resources. It can simplify the communication between Master and Work Nodes without missing the important issues happened during the push interval. Besides, we develop ＂mon＂ to make up for the deficiency of Libvirt in monitoring of virtual CPU and memory.

To tackle the key-exposure problem in signature settings,this paper introduces a new cryptographic primitive named threshold key-insulated signature(TKIS) and proposes a concrete TKIS *** a TKIS system,at least k out of n helpers are needed to update a user's temporary private *** the one hand,even if up to k 1 helpers are compromised in addition to the exposure of any of temporary private keys,security of the non-exposed periods is still *** the other hand,even if all the n helpers are compromised,we can still ensure the security of all periods as long as none of temporary private keys is *** with traditional key-insulated signature(KIS) schemes,the proposed TKIS scheme not only greatly enhances the security of the system,but also provides flexibility and efficiency.

The analysis to gamma oscillations induced in high dose DHPG and spike-gamma oscillation relationship

Neuronal oscillations in the gamma frequency range and spikes have been reported in many cortical areas in the information processing, but the role of spikes play in cortical processing remains unclear. The aim of this study was to examine the role of high dose DHPG in the generation of oscillatory field activity at gamma frequency in the medical septal diagonal band of Broca (MSDB) slice prepared from rat brain, and to determine the phase relationship between spikes and gamma oscillations. The high dose DHPG induced large amplitude field population spiking activity, which is correlated linearly with the field gamma oscillations. The relationship between timing of spikes and the phase of gamma oscillation was determined by an analysis of circular statistics. Further analysis with Rayleigh test revealed that the relationship of phase-locking between spikes and gamma rhythm is of statistical significance. These data demonstrate that DHPG-sensitive neuronal networks within medial septum are able to generate gamma oscillations which are modulated by large amplitude population spikes and phase-locking of spikes to the gamma rhythm suggest the role of memory enhancement in the presence of mGluR1 activation.

This paper proposes key SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) design strategies for those SaaS systems that run on top of a commercial PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) system such as GAE (Google App Engine)[1]. Specifically, this paper proposes a model-based approach for customization, multi-tenancy architecture, scalability, and redundancy & recovery techniques for GAE. The ACDATER (Actors, Conditions, Data, Actions, Timing, Events, and Relationship) model is used for various features, and then automated code generation is used to generate code based on the model specified. Simulation can be performed to ensure correctness before deployment.

Recently, many efforts have been devoted to explore the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Service-Oriented computing (SOC). These works allow the real-world devices to provide their functionality as web services. However, two important issues, unreliable service providing and resource constraints, make the modeling and analysis of service composition in IoT a big challenge. In this paper, we propose a probabilistic approach to formally describe and analyze the reliability and cost-related properties of the service composition in IoT. First, a service composition in IoT is modeled as a finite state machine (FSM) which focuses on the functional part. Then, we extend this FSM model to a Markov Decision Process (MDP), which can specify the reliability of service operations. Furthermore, we extend MDP with cost structure, which can represent the different service quality attributes for each operation, such as energy consumption, communication cost, etc. The desirable quality properties of the service composition are specified by a probabilistic extension of temporal logic PCTL. We adopt a well-established probabilistic model checker PRISM to verify and analyze those properties of our service composition models.

Aimed to resist the infringement of software services in cloud environment, a software services protection security protocol based on software watermarking in cloud environment was presented. On the consideration of actual needs in cloud computing, the protocol introduced the software watermarking as a service cloud which was responsible for software watermark embedding and extraction. The protocol not only met the basic requirements of software copyright protection, but also gived the detailed strategy to solve the infringement, and hardened the ability of the software watermarking to resist various attacks. The analysis shows that the proposed protocol has higher security.

AIM:To demonstrate the feasibility of optical coherence tomography(OCT)imaging in differentiating cervical inlet patch(CIP)from normal esophagus,Barrett'sesophagus(BE),normal stomach and duodenum. METHODS:This study was conducted at the Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare system(VABHS).Patients undergoing standard esophagogastroduodenoscopy at VABHS,including one patient with CIP,one representative patient with BE and three representative normal subjects were *** light video endoscopy was performed and endoscopic 3D-OCT images were obtained in each patient using a prototype OCT *** OCT imaging probe passes through the working channel of the endoscope to enable simultaneous video endoscopy and 3D-OCT examination of the human gastrointestinal(GI)*** hematoxylin and eosin(H and E)histology was performed on biopsy or endoscopic mucosal resection specimens in order to compare and validate the 3D-OCT data. RESULTS:CIP was observed from a 68-year old male with gastroesophageal reflux *** CIP region appeared as a pink circular lesion in the upper esophagus under white light *** imaging over the CIP region showed columnar epithelium structure,which clearly contrasted the squamous epithelium structure from adjacent normal esophagus.3D-OCT images obtained from other representative patients demonstrated distinctive patterns of the normal esophagus,BE,normal stomach,and normal duodenum ***,such as squamous epithelium,lamina propria, muscularis mucosa,muscularis propria,esophageal glands,Barrett's glands,gastric mucosa,gastric glands, and intestinal mucosal villi were clearly observed with OCT and matched with H and E *** results demonstrated the feasibility of using OCT to evaluate GI tissue morphology in situ and in real-time. CONCLUSION:We demonstrate in situ evaluation of CIP microstructures using 3D-OCT,which may be a useful tool for future diagnosis and follow-up of patients with CIP.
