A bivariate rational interpolation method with parameters was created which was based on function values and partial derivatives, it is called the bivariate rational interpolation with mixing conditions. This paper will deal with the bounded property and the point control method of the interpolating surface. It is proved that the values of the interpolating function in the interpolation region are bounded no matter what the parameters might be. Also, the approximation expressions of the interpolation are derived, it is not depends on the parameters. More important is that the value of the interpolating function at any point in the interpolating region can be modified under the condition that the interpolating data are not changed by selecting the suitable parameters, so the interpolation surface can be modified for the given interpolation data when needed in practical design.

Content sharing is one of the most significant issues of Digital Rights Management (abbr. DRM). Various schemes for content sharing have been presented in the past years. However, the main goals of these schemes are to solve portability problems instead of rational sharing between different users who are not family members. In this work, we propose an initial step toward this rational sharing and present a general sharing model based on proxy re-encryption. Our model can support the flexible sharing mechanism, with which the user can choose any of the purchased content to share with any legal device, and the content provider can know and limit the number of sharing devices to achieve some novel DRM policies such as pay-per-sharing. To our best knowledge, our sharing model is the first model for content sharing between different users' devices who are not family members using proxy re-encryption. With rational applications, our model can benefit for both the user and content provider to achieve win-win development. © 2011 IEEE.

3DV quality model based depth maps for view synthesis in FTV system

Depth maps are used for synthesis virtual view in free-viewpoint television （FTV） systems. When depth maps are derived using existing depth estimation methods, the depth distortions will cause undesirable artifacts in the synthesized views. To solve this problem, a 3D video quality model base depth maps （D-3DV） for virtual view synthesis and depth map coding in the FTV applications is proposed. First, the relationships between distortions in coded depth map and rendered view are derived. Then, a precisely 3DV quality model based depth characteristics is develop for the synthesized virtual views. Finally, based on D-3DV model, a multilateral filtering is applied as a pre-processed filter to reduce rendering artifacts. The experimental results evaluated by objective and subjective methods indicate that the proposed D-3DV model can reduce bit-rate of depth coding and achieve better rendering quality.

Web workloads are known to vary dynamically with time which poses a challenge to resource allocation among the applications. In this paper, we argue that the existing dynamic resource allocation based on resource utilization has some drawbacks in virtualized servers. Dynamic resource allocation directly based on real-time user experience is more reasonable and also has practical significance. To address the problem, we propose a system architecture that combines real time measurements and analysis of user experience for resource allocation. We evaluate our proposal using Webbench. The experiment results show that these techniques can judiciously allocate system resources.

With the rapid development of Web services, Web service discovery becomes a significant challenge in the matching precision and efficiency. In this paper, we present a novel method in the view of users' requirements for Web Service discovery. We set up the requirement model firstly, so as to present users' requirements in details, then cluster the Web services due to users' common requirements, and obtain corresponding Web services' QoS values. Thus, users can find their really needed Web services in an ordered list. The case study indicates the effect of our method, namely, in the view of users' requirements, we sort the candidate services due to their functions and their QoS attributes in descending order.

Visual codebook based texture analysis and image recognition is popular for its robustness to affine transformation and illumination variation. It is based on the affine invariable descriptors of local patches extracted by region detector, and then represents the image by histogram of the codebook constructed by the feature vector quantization. The most commonly used vector quantization method is k-means. But due to the limitations of predefined number of clusters and local minimum update rule, we show that k-means would fail to code the most discriminable descriptors. Another defect of k-means is that the computational complexity is extremely high. In this paper, we proposed a nonparametric vector quantization method based on mean shift, and use locality-sensitive hashing (LSH) to reduce the cost of the nearest neighborhood query in the mean-shift iterations. The performance of proposed method is demonstrated in several image classification tasks. We also show that the Information Gain or Mutual Information based feature selection based on our codebook further improves the performance.

Avionics software is safe-critical embedded software and its architecture is evolving from traditional federated architectures to Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) to improve resource usability. ARINC653, as a standard widely employed in the avionics industry, supports partitioning concepts in accordance with the IMA philosophy. To insure the development of the avionics software constructed on ARINC653 operating system with high reliability and efficiency, we propose a model-driven design methodology based on Architecture Analysis &Design Language (AADL) for ARINC653 system. This paper focus on the modeling parts of this methodology which main feature is separating the abstract application function logic represented by AADL Platform-Independent Model (AADL PIM) from the concrete execution architecture represented by AADL Model for ARINC653 (AADL653). Additionally, we provide a refined transformation framework with formally transformation rules to transform AADL PIM to AADL653 automatically and the transformation result model AADL653 can then be used for analysis, verification and code generation.

In the distributed computing environment, XML becomes the main choice as the way to transfer and store data in Web services and distributed systems. With the development of the Web services technique, there is a higher demand for an efficient XML message processing in some real-time systems. The XML messages are always parsed by software. Although many software-based XML processing techniques have been studied to improve the processing efficiency, this cannot help much. Hardware-based methods can be another efficient choice of boosting XML message processing. In this paper, we present a novel hardware-based XML message processing technique and design a binary token descriptor data structure to describe the document's structure and information. By utilizing the processing technique we are able to parse the XML into a set of binary token descriptor. The architecture is designed and implemented on a FPGA. Our experimental results show that the processing rate is more efficient than the traditional software processing.

As the energy consumption of embedded multiprocessor systems becomes increasingly prominent, the real-time energy-efficient scheduling in multiprocessor systems becomes an urgent problem to reduce the system energy consumption while meeting real-time constraints. For a multiprocessor with independent DVFS and DPM at each processor, this paper proposes an energy-efficient real-time scheduling algorithm named LRE-DVFS-EACH, based on LRE-TL which is an optimal real-time scheduling algorithm for sporadic tasks. LRE-DVFS-EACH utilizes the concept of TL plane and the idea of fluid scheduling to dynamically scale the voltage and frequency of processors at the initial time of each TL plane as well as the release time of a sporadic task in each TL plane. Consequently, LRE-DVFS-EACH can obtain a reasonable tradeoff between the real-time constraints and the energy saving. LRE-DVFS-EACH is also adaptive to the change of workload caused by the dynamic release of sporadic tasks, which can obtain more energy savings. The experimental results show that compared with existing algorithms, LRE-DVFS-EACH can not only guarantee the optimal feasibility of sporadic tasks, but also achieve more energy savings in all cases, especially in the case of high workloads.

As cloud services proliferate, it becomes difficult to facilitate service composition and testing in clouds. In traditional service-oriented computing, service composition and testing are carried out independently. This paper proposes a new approach to manage services on the cloud so that it can facilitate service composition and testing. The paper uses service implementation selection to facilitate service composition similar to Google's Guice and Spring tools, and apply the group testing technique to identify the oracle, and use the established oracle to perform continuous testing for new services or compositions. The paper extends the existing concept of template based service composition and focus on testing the same workflow of service composition. In addition, all these testing processes can be executed in parallel, and the paper illustrates how to apply service-level MapReduce technique to accelerate the testing process.
