With the development and popularization of Internet technology, network security has become the focus of attention. Vulnerabilities and back doors are regarded as two of the main reasons of network security problems. Dynamic heterogeneous redundant (DHR) architecture is a typical framework of cyberspace mimic defense. It can make use of untrusted hardware and software components to construct a high reliable and high security information system. In this article, a mathematical model is set up for the DHR architecture, and the system security is characterized by vulnerability consistency rate and success rate of system attack. The antiattack ability of the DHR system is analyzed using the mathematical model. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

OblivTime: Oblivious and Efficient Interval Skyline Query Processing Over Encrypted Time-Series Data

Time-series data is prevalent in many applications like smart homes, smart grids, and healthcare. And it is now increasingly common to store and query time-series data in the cloud. Despite the benefits, data privacy concerns in such outsourced services are pressing, making it imperative to embed privacy assurance mechanisms from the outset. Most existing related works have been focused on querying for different types of aggregate statistics. In this paper, we instead focus on the secure support for advanced interval skyline queries, which allow to identify time series that are not dominated by any other time series within a query time interval. This is valuable for time-series data analytics in applications like remote health monitoring (e.g., identifying patients with high heart rates in a certain week). We present OblivTime, a new system framework for oblivious and efficient interval skyline query processing over encrypted time-series data. OblivTime is built from a synergy of time-series data analytics, lightweight cryptography, and GPU parallel computing, achieving stronger security guarantees and lower online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OblivTime can achieve up to 666\times speedup in online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

An Encoder-Decoder Model Based On Spiking Neural Networks For Address Event Representation Object Recognition

Address event representation (AER) object recognition task has attracted extensive attention in neuromorphic vision processing. The spike-based and event-driven computation inherent in the spiking neural network (SNN) provides an energy-saving solution for AER object recognition. However, SNN with spike timing dependent plasticity (STDP) learning rule has not achieved satisfying AER object recognition performance. This work proposes an SNN-based encoder-decoder model to improve the recognition performance of AER objects. An STDP-based locally connected spiking neural network (LC-SNN) is proposed as an encoder to extract rich spatiotemporal features from AER event flows more flexibly. After the encoder extracts and learns primary features, we propose a fully connected spiking neural network (FC-SNN) based on the reward-modulated spike-timing-dependent plasticity (R-STDP) learning rule as a decoder to learn higher-level features for classification. In addition, we improved the winner-take-all (WTA) mechanisms and R-STDP learning rule in the decoder based on the reward and punish decision, enabling the network to perform better. The experiments are performed on the N-MNIST, MNIST-DVS, and the DVS Gesture datasets, improving the accuracy of the best existing plasticity-based SNN by 0.19%, 0.27% and 1.35%, respectively. © 2016 IEEE.

Multimodal Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (MABSA) aims to extract aspect terms from text-image pairs and identify their sentiments. Previous methods are based on the premise that the image contains the objects referred by the aspects within the text. However, this condition cannot always be met, resulting in a suboptimal performance. In this paper, we propose COnditional Relation based Sentiment Analysis framework (CORSA). Specifically, we design a conditional relation detector (CRD) to mitigate the impact of the unmet conditional image. Moreover, we design a visual object localizer (VOL) to locate the exact condition-related visual regions associated with the aspects. With CRD and VOL, our CORSA framework takes a multi-task form. In addition, to effectively learn CORSA we conduct two types of annotations. One is the conditional relation using a pretrained referring expression comprehension model;the other is the bounding boxes of visual objects by a pretrained object detection model. Experiments on our built C-MABSA dataset show that CORSA consistently outperforms existing methods. Vision Transformers constantly absorb the characteristics of convolutional neural networks to solve its shortcomings in translational invariance and scale invariance. However, dividing the image by a simple grid often destroys the position and scale features in the image at the beginning of the network. In this paper, we propose a vision transformer based on region proposal, which obtains the inductive bias in a simple way. Specifically, RPViT achieves locality and scale-invariance by extracting regions with locality using a traditional region proposal algorithm and deflating objects of different scales to the same scale by a bilinear interpolation algorithm. In addition, to enable the network to fully utilize and encode diverse candidate objects, a multi-class token approach based on orthogonalization is proposed and applied. Experiments on ImageNet demonstrate that RPViT outperforms baseline converters and related work. © 2022 ACM.

HMvisor: dynamic hybrid memory management for virtual machines

Emerging non-volatile memory(NVM) technologies promise high density, low cost and dynamic random access memory(DRAM)-like performance, at the expense of limited write endurance and high write energy consumption. It is more practical to use NVM combining with the traditional DRAM. However, the hybrid memory management such as page migration becomes more challenging in a virtualization environment because virtual machines(VMs) are unaware of the memory heterogeneity. In this paper, we propose HMvisor, a hypervisor and VM coordinated hybrid memory management mechanism to better utilize DRAM and NVM resources. HMvisor exposes the memory heterogeneity to VMs by mapping virtual NUMA nodes to different physical NUMA nodes. We propose a lightweight and efficient page migration mechanism by decoupling page hotness tracking from page migration. HMvisor performs those operations in the hypervisor and VMs separately, without disrupting the execution of VMs. We also propose a memory resource trading policy to adjust the capacity of DRAM and NVM for each VM, with the monetary cost unchanged. We implement our prototype system based on QEMU/KVM and evaluate it with several benchmarks. Experimental results show that HMvisor can reduce 50% of write traffic to NVM with less than 5% performance overhead. Moreover, the hybrid memory adjustment scheme in HMvisor can significantly improve application performance by up to 30×.

Amidst global warming and escalating extreme weather events, indoor environmental quality's impact on human health and public hygiene gains prominence. Environmental parameters exist essentially as fields, which are characterized by high dimensionality, density and complexity, and contain massive amounts of information in space. To facilitate visualization and analysis of indoor environmental field, we design and implement BuildEnVR, an immersive analysis system by virtual reality, enabling remote analysis of real-time and historical environmental field data. Grounded in user needs and cognitive psychology, three visualization modes emerge: the Virtual Sensor mode enables users to access perceptual data in real-time at any 3D coordinates in ambient space, the 4D Heatmap mode visualizes spatial variations and trends over time in environmental field data, and the Synaesthesia mode realizes the fusion display of multi-dimensional environmental field data, allowing users to quickly understand the overall condition of the indoor environment with a low cognitive load. Extensive user surveys validate BuildEnVR's intuitiveness and precision, and it is suitable for both experts and general users. © 2024 IEEE.

Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has become an indispensable data sensing and processing platform in Internet of Things (IoT) for intelligent transportation. The mounted cameras on the vehicles along with the fixed roadside cameras are utilized to provide pictorial services for IoV users and law enforcement agencies. For such forensic services, ensuring the security and privacy of vehicles while guaranteeing the efficiency of data transmission among vehicles is important. In this paper, we propose a lightweight incentive authentication scheme (LIAS) for forensic services in IoV. LIAS is developed on a three-tier architecture containing cloud layer, fog layer, and user layer. LIAS uses pairing-free certificateless signcryption, pseudonym update mechanism, and incentive mechanism to realize a secure anonymous authentication efficiently. We conduct correctness and security analysis, as well as performance analysis and evaluation to validate the high security and efficiency of LIAS. Experimental results reveal that, the communication and computation overheads as well as the message delay and packet loss of LIAS are much lower than those of state-of-the-art techniques. Note to Practitioners - This paper is motivated by the security and privacy issues of forensic services in IoV for intelligent transportation. Our goal is to improve the security and privacy of vehicles while guaranteeing the lightweight and incentive of data transmission among the vehicles. Fog-assisted IoV is introduced to fully utilize the capacities of near-user edge devices as well as the connections between fog nodes and devices. However, it still faces the difficulties in ensuring vehicles' security and privacy. Moreover, vehicles' information dissemination could be easily monitored because of the unavoidable defect of wireless communication. Thereby, it is essential to guarantee the security and privacy of vehicles while enhancing the efficiency of vehicles' data transmission during the forensic service.

Collecting and annotating data for semantic segmentation can end up costing a lot of time and energy. Unsupervised Domain Adaptation (UDA) for semantic segmentation allows models trained on certain source domain data (such as the GTA synthetic dataset) to be applied to certain target data (like the Cityscapes real dataset), significantly decreasing the requirement for target-domain manual pixel-level *** this paper, we suggest a cross-domain unified semantic segmentation network training framework, the Attention Distribution Adaptation Network (ADAN). It (1) proposes the Content Consistency Transformation (CCT), which maps source domain data to an intermediate domain that has a data distribution that is comparable to that of the target domain, and (2) introduces the Attention Adaptation Module (AAM), which bolsters the synchronization of attention between the intermediate domain and the target domain. ADAN achieved unprecedented mIoUs of 77.2 and 68.8 on GTA→Cityscapes and Synthia→Cityscapes, respectively, corresponding to improvements of +1.3 and +0.6 over the state of the art.

Prediction on compatibility of a service is crucial because it not only provides assurance for service requesters to successfully fulfil the workflow, but also relieves the pressure of the service pool from overload. Existing researches on parameter prediction mainly rely on collaborative filtering and matrix factorization, which are easily exposed to data-sparse problem, and they don't have solid support from mathematical proof. In this paper, we are the first to propose a method to predict compatibility with reliable mathematical proof, and its mechanism prevents data-sparse. Firstly we propose an architecture called Topology Retrievable Service Oriented Architecture, which is capable of collecting individual invocation records in a specific period of time and generate the whole topology of the service pool. Secondly, based on the architecture we presented, we give our definitions of Link-ability, propose Link-ability Generation Algorithm and present our solid mathematical strategies in the aspect of Markov Process. Lastly, we perform a series of experiment to strengthen our point, the result shows that our Link-ability not only reveals compatibility, but also potential compatibility of connecting services. © 2022 IEEE.
