Machine reading comprehension has aroused wide concerns, since it explores the potential of model for text understanding. To further equip the machine with the reasoning capability, the challenging task of logical reasoning is proposed. Previous works on logical reasoning have proposed some strategies to extract the logical units from different aspects. However, there still remains a challenge to model the long distance dependency among the logical units. Also, it is demanding to uncover the logical structures of the text and further fuse the discrete logic to the continuous text embedding. To tackle the above issues, we propose an end-to-end model Logiformer which utilizes a two-branch graph transformer network for logical reasoning of text. Firstly, we introduce different extraction strategies to split the text into two sets of logical units, and construct the logical graph and the syntax graph respectively. The logical graph models the causal relations for the logical branch while the syntax graph captures the co-occurrence relations for the syntax branch. Secondly, to model the long distance dependency, the node sequence from each graph is fed into the fully connected graph transformer structures. The two adjacent matrices are viewed as the attention biases for the graph transformer layers, which map the discrete logical structures to the continuous text embedding space. Thirdly, a dynamic gate mechanism and a question-aware self-attention module are introduced before the answer prediction to update the features. The reasoning process provides the interpretability by employing the logical units, which are consistent with human cognition. The experimental results show the superiority of our model, which outperforms the state-of-the-art single model on two logical reasoning benchmarks. © 2022, CC BY.

In this paper, we investigate the safe task offloading and primary node selection in blockchain, digital twin (DT) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) enabled Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Edge servers centers provide computing power for task processing for Mobile Vehicles (MVs), while blockchain can provide security guarantees for MVs during task offloading. Based on the above system, we propose a joint optimization scheme for vehicle task offloading decision and the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus process. Due to the large number of optimization variables and constraints, the problem becomes more complex. Traditional convex optimization and dynamic programming methods are difficult to effectively solve this problem. To address this issue, we propose a deep reinforcement learning based algorithm that utilizes Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO). The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper outperforms the benchmark algorithm in terms of convergence and other aspects.

Mining structural priors in data is a widely recognized technique for hyperspectral image (HSI) denoising tasks, whose typical ways include model-based methods and data-based methods. The model-based methods have good generalization ability, while the runtime cannot meet the fast processing requirements of the practical situations due to the large size of an HSI data X ∈ RMN×B. For the data-based methods, they perform very fast on new test data once they have been trained. However, their generalization ability is always insufficient. In this paper, we propose a fast model-based HSI denoising approach. Specifically, we propose a novel regularizer named Representative Coefficient Total Variation (RCTV) to simultaneously characterize the low rank and local smooth properties. Clear imagery of retinal vessels is one of the critical shreds of evidence in specific disease diagnosis and evaluation, including sophisticated hierarchical topology and plentiful-and-intensive capillaries. In this work, we propose a new topology- and shape-aware model named Multi-branch Vessel-shaped Convolution network (MVCN) to adaptively learn high-resolution representations from retinal vessel imagery and thereby capture high-quality topology and shape information thereon. Two steps are involved in our pipeline. The former step is proposed as Multiple High-resolution Ensemble Module (MHEM) to enhance high-resolution characteristics of retinal vessel imagery via fusing scale-invariant hierarchical topology thereof. The latter is a novel vessel-shaped convolution that captures the retinal vessel topology to emerge from unrelated fundus structures. Moreover, our MVCN of separating such topology from the fundus is a dynamical multiple sub-label generation via using epistemic uncertainty, instead of manually separating raw labels to distinguish definitive and uncertain vessels. Compared to other existing methods, our method achieves the most advanced AUC values of 98.31%, 98.80%, 98.83%, and 98.65%, and the most advanced ACC of 95.83%, 96.82%, 97.09%,and 96.66% in DRIVE, CHASE_DB1, STARE, and HRF datasets. We also employ correctness, completeness, and quality metrics to evaluate skeletal similarity. Our method's evaluation metrics have doubled compared to previous methods, thereby demonstrating the effectiveness thereof. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Toward Enhanced Robustness in Unsupervised Graph Representation Learning: A Graph Information Bottleneck Perspective

Recent studies have revealed that GNNs are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. Most existing robust graph learning methods measure model robustness based on label information, rendering them infeasible when label information is not available. A straightforward direction is to employ the widely used Infomax technique from typical Unsupervised Graph Representation Learning (UGRL) to learn robust unsupervised representations. Nonetheless, directly transplanting the Infomax technique from typical UGRL to robust UGRL may involve a biased assumption. In light of the limitation of Infomax, we propose a novel unbiased robust UGRL method called Robust Graph Information Bottleneck (RGIB), which is grounded in the Information Bottleneck (IB) principle. Our RGIB attempts to learn robust node representations against adversarial perturbations by preserving the original information in the benign graph while eliminating the adversarial information in the adversarial graph. There are mainly two challenges to optimize RGIB: 1) high complexity of adversarial attack to perturb node features and graph structure jointly in the training procedure;2) mutual information estimation upon adversarially attacked graphs. To tackle these problems, we further propose an efficient adversarial training strategy with only feature perturbations and an effective mutual information estimator with subgraph-level summary. Moreover, we theoretically establish a connection between our proposed RGIB and the robustness of downstream classifiers, revealing that RGIB can provide a lower bound on the adversarial risk of downstream classifiers. Extensive experiments over several benchmarks and downstream tasks demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed method. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The Initial Screening of Laryngeal Tumors via Voice Acoustic Analysis Based on Siamese network Under Small Samples

Objective: The initial screening of laryngeal tumors via voice acoustic analysis is based on the clinician's experience that is subjective. This article introduces a Siamese network with an auxiliary gender classifier for automated, accurate, and objective initial screening of laryngeal tumors based on voice signals. Methods: The study involved 71 tumor patients and 293 non-tumor subjects of Chinese Mandarin. This dataset was divided into a training set and a test set in a ratio of 4:1. We applied nine data augmentation techniques to enlarge the voice training set and extracted the corresponding mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) maps. The MFCC maps were randomly paired and fed into the proposed Siamese network to achieve multitask classification for tumor and non-tumor, woman and man. The performance of the proposed model was compared with one machine learning method and six classical deep learning models with and without the auxiliary gender classifier. Results: Experiments demonstrate the superiority of the proposed network compared with the reference models. The proposed model achieved an overall accuracy of 0.9437, an F score of 0.8462, a precision of 0.9167, a sensitivity of 0.7857, and a specificity of 0.9825. Conclusion: The proposed network can assist in the initial screening of laryngeal tumors through voice acoustic analysis. The initial screening solely through voice acoustic analysis can help individuals seek medical assistance outside the hospitals and reduce the burden on doctors as well. © 2025

In the real world, many problems possess the high degree of similarity. Inspired by multifactorial inheritance model, evolutionary multi-task optimization paradigm is proposed to simultaneously solve multiple optimization problems. However, experimental results have revealed that the performance of multifactorial evolutionary algorithm deteriorates with negative knowledge transfer between uncorrelated tasks. To alleviate this issue, we proposed an enhanced competitive swarm optimizer to explore the generality of the multitasking paradigm. A new velocity update mechanism for losers is proposed to improve the search ability. Further, a mating approach is proposed to transfer implicit knowledge among tasks for generating offspring. Experimental and statistical analyses are performed on CEC2017 evolutionary multitask optimization competition. Results show that the proposed algorithm is competitive in comparison with other state-of-the-art multifactorial optimization algorithms.

Remote sensing image change description represents an innovative multimodal task within the realm of remote sensing processing. This task not only facilitates the detection of alterations in surface conditions, but also provides comprehensive descriptions of these changes, thereby improving human interpretability and interactivity. Generally, existing deep-learning-based methods predominantly utilized a three-stage framework that successively perform feature extraction, feature fusion, and localization from bitemporal images before text generation. However, this reliance often leads to an excessive focus on the design of specific network architectures and restricts the feature distributions to the dataset at hand, which in turn results in limited generalizability and robustness during application. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a novel approach for remote sensing image change detection and description that incorporates diffusion models, aiming to transition the emphasis of modeling paradigms from conventional feature learning to data distribution learning. The proposed method primarily includes a simple multi-scale change detection module, whose output features are subsequently refined by an well-designed diffusion model. Furthermore, we introduce a frequency-guided complex filter module to boost the model performance by managing high-frequency noise throughout the diffusion process. We validate the effectiveness of our proposed method across several datasets for remote sensing change detection and description, showcasing its superior performance compared to existing techniques. As the mobile Internet is developing rapidly, people who use cell phones to access the Internet dominate, and the mobile Internet has changed the development environment of online public opinion and made online public opinion events spread more widely. In the online environment, any kind of public issues may become a trigger for the generation of public opinion and thus need to be controlled for network supervision. The method in this paper can identify entities from the event texts obtained from mobile Today's Headlines, People's Daily, etc., and informatize security of public opinion in event instances, thus strengthening network supervision and control in mobile, and providing sufficient support for national security event management. In this paper, we present a SW-BiLSTM-CRF model, as well as a model combining the RoBERTa pre-trained model with the classical neural network BiLSTM model. Our experiments show that this approach provided achieves quite good results on Chinese emergency corpus, with accuracy and F1 values of 87.21% and 78.78%, respectively.
